At Bethesda we believe in the power of Twitch. From Battlegrounds in The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, to “Let’s Plays” in games like Prey and Fallout 4, we love to watch our fans stream all of our games.
Today, we’re happy to announce a new partnership with Twitch in the form of Drops. Drops allow any user who has linked their Bethesda.net account with their Twitch account to get free stuff in the Bethesda games they’re already playing, just by streaming or viewing a stream for that game on Twitch. The best part? All of this is free! To get started, simply head over to Bethesda.net and link your Twitch account.
We’re also rolling this out for the Bethesda events and programs we livestream on our own channel. The first of these events will be Bethesda’s E3 Showcase, which you can watch live at twitch.tv/Bethesda on June 11, at 9pm PT. During the Showcase, we’ll be distributing Drops all evening long for The Elder Scrolls: Legends – including card packs and in-game currency. If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out Legends, it’s a free-to-play strategy card game on iPad, Android Tablets, PC and Mac, with a mobile phone version coming very soon. Download it now so you can take advantage of all the free Drops on Sunday!
Wednesday, June 14, after the Bethesda E3 showcase, we’ll be rolling out Drops across all Legends streams on Twitch. But Legends is just the start of our Twitch integration. Our vision for Drops is to allow anyone who is streaming or viewing a Bethesda title that is powered by Bethesda.net to earn Drops. We’ll share more details in the future about supported titles.
Drops are just the beginning of our partnership with Twitch, and we’re incredibly excited to offer this up to our fans who watch content on Twitch, as well as the streamers who play our games and entertain the millions viewing their content. Make sure to link your Twitch account with your Bethesda.net account today to take part in the opportunities starting this Sunday, June 11, and keep an eye on Bethesda.net for more information on our Twitch partnership as we support more titles and Twitch features.
Erm... yeah I don't quite know how I feel about this.
I mean it's great advertising and promotion for the game, great rewards for those who stream the game. However with how I know ZOS this is going to end up as exclusive pets/mounts etc. isn't it?
I guess I better start looking into how to stream on a 1.2mb upload connection.
