Yeah, that is a pretty incredible freebie. Offloading all those mats is huge for those who don't sub, especially if they have some of the rare mats for motifs in stacks of 1 or 2 taking up slots and rarely growing.

This is the kind of event that deserves an intrusive notification so that people don't miss it and complain about not logging on during event.

Well, here you go. This explains so much. The people who can't control themselves and are prone to an addiction-type personality are the ones claiming the crates will feed a "gambling addiction." A normal person can open a set of crown crates and be satisfied, and stop, and not feel the need to open any more.

Regarding your 2nd point, ofc ZOS is a company and goal is making money, but if you are so IGNORANT about quality of stuff receiving for the money paid for, then you are a hopeless white night and nothing else. And if you choose not to voice against it, or for the changes/ fixes needed, then you've no right to tell me if I should not.

I have not opened my free crates from Morrowind pre-order.

I've never opened a Crown Crate on any Live server. I opened some of them on PTS, when they were introduced on PTS back in 2016, but not one since then. Not even the free ones that I have. I have the action unbound from any keyboard controls. I would hide the stupid icon and exclamation point, if "No. Thank You!" actually hid it when "Disable Crown crates" was turned on.

This is great news. These kind of events give players, especially ESO+ members a feeling that developers care about the subscribers and players and want to offer something extra to them, as it should be. I personally think that there should be more events like this in the future. And maybe at some point, eso team might consider bringing back the montly subscriber rewards, like it used to be in the past.

If the drop rates stay the same and aren't altered

But seriously, for me, free crates added to my ESO+ sub...I'm ok w/that. I log in everyday anyway and have the control to not go overboard if I choose to buy them (which I don't).

the banner is waaaay too big. Took up over a third of the page. An announcement banner does not need to be that big. Otherwise a swell idea

Aaaand over half the screen on mobile. Dont be that kind of company that spits out huge popups everytime someone visits the page. I avoid those companies/activate ad block if i absolutely have to visit them and that just ruins ad revenue

As for the announcement banner, on mobile I thought it was a little big, and it should have looked more like the rest of the forum site and headers so that I wasn't confused for a few seconds as to the legitimacy. Its presence was a helpful heads up. We're here in the first place because we are playing ESO, so I don't consider the announcement banner to be anything like unwelcome advertising.

I'm a bit annoyed about the timing of this - after Morrowind was released I bought a 30 day sub so I could dye my costumes and it just ended today. Had I known this was coming up I could have either waited and dyed my costumes for free or bought the sub a few days later and gotten some free crown crates.

As it is I won't be getting free crates and a few days of sub time is pointless now I've dyed everything (all the other benefits are useless to me) so I may end up not logging in at all.

But I suppose they can't please everyone. What would have been good timing for me is probably terrible timing for someone else. It just sucks that I paid for something I could have gotten free a few weeks later.
