I remember a while back, someone was complaining on the forums that he couldn't complete the first stage of vMA despite having spent so much on getting max-level 9-trait legendary gear. As it turns out, he was using Armor Master and was running vMA with the stats of a no-damage tank.

✭BUT..... battle leveling plays a good part in what you are describing .... everyone is battle leveled to "max" stats ... Battle leveling will in fact give lvl 20 better kind of stats
OP, you basically just died in a fair(? You said 1v1?) fight. You being higher level doesn't make you stronger(until 160+ cp, after which yes, it does), you having decent(? Hard to say without knowing sets and stuff) gear doesn't have to mean auto-win - he could be geared just as well or better even, and more importantly he could easily have more PvP experience and skill than you. 0
