I like doing random dugeons more than once daily, but I have never encountered one in them, so I wonder. If you have seen them where at?

Yes, used to have one in my guild.

They're not efficient (clearly) but if your group understands them and works with and around their weaknesses it can work for easier content.
Harder content just requires people take some level of care of themselves and understand they can't full DPS their way through and be carried by big heals.

I have a friend ...never did dungeon with whose completed vMOl as a dragon knight healer and never as a Templar healer, so it makes me curious is there more then meets the eye.

But I have played a lot with a dedicated healer, and over the past few months been healing myself.

I count myself as a healer as I heal like a m***erf***er with my DK when I solo big scary bosses, and do miniscule damage. With light armor.

They are if Molag Kena dies before killing anyone. :)

I have a baby DK. Was going to go magdk and split DD and heals when I get around to using her. Although I did just finish levelling up my second sorc and the kitty cat is soooo much fun.

    Unfortunately, yes.

    Resto "healers" are generally bad.

In two years of running Vet pugs, I can remember one resto healer (non Templar) that did an adequate job.

I don't know who mispread this information but in current game DK may be very efficient healer. He can spam shields like no other and in current game shielding is all the way to go.

The problem is that many players can't imagine healer without burst healing while burst shielding isn't any different and even more efficient in many cases, as after casting the shield the health regenerates within seconds from 5 different HoT like siphon+speings+mutagen+ else. And HoT + shielding, in a current game again, is all the way to go.

Indeed it's within my realms of interests to create one day.

I made one and this was when VR levels existed. I ran him until level VR11

Basically it seems DK can tank, heal and dps in that order from best to worse back then.

    Not sure about now

    I main a NB healer. I'm new.

It's interesting how everyone is talking about DPS, and we have at least one mainstream DPS build for each class, but healer/tank builds are largely absent. Well, there were a few posts about them some months/years ago I guess.

Are resto healers so horrible? I don't see why? There's emergency heal, hot, area hot, buff, debuff...what's missing there that makes them absolutely bad?

Used to see NB healers a lot, too.

When I was first running dungeons and generally screwing up every possible thing, I was always particularly relieved to see the healer was a DK. Magma shell ftw
Classes that don't need any class ability nerfs: Nightblades, Dragonknights, Sorcs, Templars, Wardens.

    All about burst healing.

Also for some reason other classes forget about resource sharing. Any healer has to cast magickasteal (destro staff) and mystic orbs.

I still don't quite understand. I've played games (yes, ESO isn't other MMO) where some healer classes don't have burst at all and were doing fine. From what I see here, bosses either do a reasonable amount of damage that is often negatable, or one-shot you. Shouldn't HOTs plus some burst like ward and, well, combat prayer be good enough? (It's a question; I honestly don't know.)

I have elemental drain and I believe every other NB healer I met had it.

I mained a Bosmer Magdk for about a year. Was great fun, and then I was distracted by alts.

Heck, I still remember why I leveled a DK. I had been healing Elden Root on my Sorc - the version with that...tree who did the slowly-grows-stronger-with-each-cast AoE. It normally was a pain to heal through, but for some reason it wasn't that time around. The DK tank had been using his shield right before the AoE hit. It was pretty sweet, so I leveled one.

I made an argonian DK healer

Chased-The-Dragon (she looked like an addict - all gaunt & ill looking)

i was able to easily heal normal & vet dungeons, pvp, normal trials with any group - no group would let me in to their vet trial but i know i could of done it

i dont need the emergency burst of BoL - i know how to use HoT's

why did i delete her? argonian voices are annoying & the animation of their tails is weird!

    • Shards reach tank instantly. Orbs are expensive and slow (~10s for 28m distance).
    • No burst auto-targeted heal (Breath of Life).
    • No Power of the Light debuff
    • Lack of Purge-on-demand (via Extended Ritual)
    • No AoE Drain (via Radiant Aura) or free burst AoE heal (via Repentance)
It is possible to heal all veteran Dungeons with non-Templar healer (double effort and still weaker results) but there are valid reasons why raid setups stick to this particular class.

I was in a 33K vDSA run with one last week. The low score was not due to healer issues, though.

At this point, I've seen all classes try to heal. there is good reason why Templar are most universally accepted healer.
