Mainly looking at magblades specifically. i know for awhile siphoning attacks was looking like it wouldnt be worth slotting, but im interested to hear peoples opinions on it now that that ZOS slightly altered the version that went live by reducing the cost and giving the burst of resources back when it expires

2 cents having not tested it yet...

Whether you slot it will probably depend on how highly you value a single skill slot. With the buffs to heavy attack sustain, it may be better to focus on that mechanic for sustain instead of depending on SA like we do now. That said, if you've got nothing else to slot there, it may be worth having for the extra resources?

Skill is still horrible, the one thing nightblades had was sustain. Really didn't matter at all because every class had unlimited resources. Now, as soon as resources become important, siphoning gets DESTROYED. GG nightblades, keep calm and reroll mag sorc.

Agreed, plus the changes to Eclipse are going to be very painful for a magblade this update, but we don't have to cast a skill to get resources from heavy attacks, which are undodgeable anyway.

If by bad you mean no being OP, then yes, it's "bad".

If I recall correctly heavy attacks can now be dodged and you won't get any resource return.

It's a kinda-sorta-decent buff if your build wasn't able to hit a light attack every second (stam NBs, DW magblades) but it's a pretty harsh nerf to destro/resto magblades. It's not even so much the reduced magic return as it is the complete removal of stam return from the magic morph: magic NB is now the only class that doesn't have the tools to manage it's stam, and you can't even go sword and board for reduced block costs since you need the ranged light attacks from destro to proc your Merciless, and you've always been locked into running resto staff backbar since you don't have any burst heal apart from Healing Ward.

That being said, even if Siphoning had been completely unchanged this patch, magblade still wouldn't have been good. With the Eclipse change, every class (besides Nightblade, weirdly enough) has an easy way to shut down a projectile build, and magblade's all projectiles.

3 lines of mag regen + witchmother's is enough mag sustain for me. I used Leeching Strikes all evening. That felt decent. Mageblade is still being pushed out of upfront fighting play styles into cloak. I don't like that.

What did that end up working out to be in terms of numbers?
I just cut siphoning out of the build. no point in it now. So i just am trying to figure out what my mag recovery should be resting at

I'm going to be testing this after i've finished leveling my warden but I never used siphoning strikes on my stamblade in No-cp campaigns in the last patch. I'm interested in using it as a magicka regen on my stamblade to get more cloaks and fears in.
