Battlegrounds for pros, Cyrodiil for noobs?

Why are people so upset about pugs being matched with premades? They already said premades will be matched with other premades.

That's practically impossible this game is not that popular to afford having a solo and group queue, if Battlegrounds were in the base game it will be already a big issue and MM will still take a lot of time.

I would like to see where they said that and if they do it I don't think I will play BG's because when Guild Wars did it (and they have 20 times the population of ESO) it used to take 20-30 minutes to get matched with another team and I'm not going through that in ESO.

@Kay1 They did say this i don't have the quote but they also said in the same sentence that if it takes to long it will match the group with randoms. so its true as long as there are enough people queuing

The thing I like about BG is the choice you make entering them. There are many players that enter Cyrodiil who do not want to PvP because they've mixed PvE elements into it. With BG, there's no skyshards or some such (yet). You go in strictly to fight.

The problem with BG is that many small scale battle games have much better graphics, like BF1 or Titanfall, so those who like CoD games will prb not enjoy BG very much, while the typical mmo player wants a rpg, with a good storyline, and will therefore get bored in Battlegrounds pretty quick. It's only the minority of "pro" pvp'ers in ESO who will feel that BG is a heaven designed specifically for them, presupposing that BG doesn't flop like IC.

And if ESO tries to "balance" BG so that casuals will enjoy it, then it's most likely that the pros will leave, because it's no challenge for them.

The 4 Vs 4 Vs 4 battleground are a bad idea IMO. They need to have more players like we had in Warhammer, WoW, and Daoc. More players enable lesser skilled players to feel they are contributing and help to ease them into smaller scale pvp. These small BGs will be pre-made leet d00d gank fests just frothing at the mouth for noobie blood to join. Sounds like these will just be for a very small group of ESOs players. With Daoc experience you'd think Matt Frior would know better...

battlegrounds will be where the frustrated people who dislike grp pvp go, it will be a small % of players who cannot function in a regular pvp setting putting themselves on a pedestal, basically every guy whos messaged you going "1v1 me bro!" cause your grp killed his and he cannot cope. Expect every toxic setup pvp has to offer with a mass of infinite dodge rollers, honestly if regular people do bgs it would be a fun experience but expect it to degrade quickly

So you are saying that people who don't like zerg vs zerg gameplay are toxic?

You're making a ton of assumptions. I love ESO PVP and find Titanfall boring. Never once thought it had better graphics either. BF1 is fun but I stink at it. I'm much more "pro" (even though that's a stupid term) at ESO. I also enjoy CoD but nowhere near the level I do of Cyrodiil.

Also, typical shmiplycal. I know more typical MMO players who look at the storyline as an exercise in hitting A as fast as possible than those who read every line.

You're just another person in the long line of people on this forum who bases entire arguments around "me and my friends don't play a certain style so it won't be popular".

Makes zero sense, first I doubt GW has more active players than ESO today.
Second it looks like they have an as bad group finder as ESO, queues in finder is because too many DD over healer and tanks..

Except for that long lasting bug when everyone gets kicked right away as soon as the group is found... or do you think everyone is being kicked because there is to many DD in the queue? Zos is like well if the group breaks up right away then even more people will get to see the tank and healer!

I haven't played enough recently to know if the two other bugs that always plagued me are still In place. The to many people in a group bug. The cant transport to that instance bug.

I make assumptions ofc, because the game isn't released yet, and that's why I use words like "probably" and "likely" in my posts.

Btw, take a look at your own assumptions in the last sentence you wrote.

And in my post above I was talking about BG, not Cyrodiil which is large scale strategic battle, which includes pve and storyline elements. My favourite game was always the BF series, since the launch of BF1942, but after ESO and Cyrodiil it didn't take long before I got bored of BF1, despite its amazing graphics. CoD games now are just too static, imo.

The success of BG will probably depend on how much the devs have managed to integrate small scale battles in the whole lore and atmosphere of the TES series.

And they need to find a way to group people who are approximately on the same skill level, in the same way one has different divisions in soccer for example.

Pros don't play joke PvP like ESO...

Actually I agree here. There are tons of really skilled players (which is what this person seems to be denying) but, let's be honest, no one is a pro. Pro, or "professional" means you get paid. Until The first ever "ESO World Super Tournament for $500,000" is announced we're all still amateurs.

I really hope that one guy who hates the literal definition of pay to win chimes in to disagree with me.

well now @THEDKEXPERIENCE you know there's skill, and, then there's eso's pay to win program...

If Messi is forced to play in 3 division soccer games it will not take long before he becomes "toxic". But it's just frustration, a natural reaction when one is too overqualified to play on a low level. Like forcing a 12th grader to attend a class of 8th graders. It is bound to create tension. It's primarily ESO's responsibility to avoid this.

I thought BG will have house items i started to pvp a bit just for the level 30-50 house items i might do the same for BG if any thing interests me but don't think for a sec i will change my pve build in any way or wast money or AP-motif- for pvp

Thanks for proving my point while trying to make your own xD

Messi would retire before he joined a division 3 league..

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I was just making a comment about how "toxicity" can be interpreted in a way which makes it easier for newbies to understand why many or at least some veterans in the game may not be in the best of moods when cooperating with unskilled players.

I was not aware that BG is without cp, but many of the best players in ESO enjoyed Cyrodiil before cp was introduced. Fighting skills are unrelated to cp. If you really have skills, you will enjoy fighting guys like Sypher and Hexys in BG.
