Mag Dk DD's POST-Morrowind Patch??

Is there any hope for Mag Dk DD's who DON'T want to be damn Sorcerers in morrowind for PvE?
Cost reductions and literally our only resource return in Battle roar was nerfed. How are Mag Dk's (who already right now have sustain issues on live) going to fare in Morrowind post-patch? Is there any silver lining at all???

Burning Spell weave nerfed too. So now our damage and sustain is shite great job zenimax
tldr- You just lost a 3 year subscriber who has purchased and WAS planning purchasing to support you. F2p casual for the win.

May reinstate membership if further updates adjust the sorc to other dps levels or if other classes get buffed on their sets from base game I.E.- Sun set for example

✭✭✭✭✭Yes there will be some hope, here's why..I've always tended to go against the 'meta' and go my own way and it seems this time it's paid off a bit.
By and large, my rotation/gear/playstyle on mDK dps isn't changing much, it feels very familiar. I just have to pay attention to resources now, which is no big deal.
I can still run my double dps sets and just utilize heavy a bit more, or throw on a recovery set. Either way I was still nuking the crap out of things in my testing. DPS loss was noticeable but not bad.
I wont know for sure the true scope of the matter on the PVP side of things until after launch, but I'll figure something out.
mDK could definitely use some help (most needed class out of all that could use some cost reduction and sustain helpers) but I'm not really worried about it.

No just roll a sorcerer likw 99.9% of everything now.Sorc or bust at this point. I main magblade and just starting working on my magDK because NBs are in such a bad spot. And then BSW gets nerfed which is bad for DK. I have a feeling that if I keep working on him there will be more nerfs.

Atm, Mag DK and Mag Templar are both viable. DKs give a group buff while Templars are nice in executing enemies.
Mag NB is struggling and based on the patheticly minor buff they recieved this week (13% Twisting Path damage) they are not going to improve.
Mag Warden is the utter joke of a PvE DPS. They make Nighblades look OP
If Mag Sorcs are brought down (ZOS will never bring classes up, only nerf) then it'll only be Mag NB and Mag Warden that need help and your Mag DK won't be worthless. The one saving grace for Mag DK is every raid will need one Mag DK for Engulfing Flames

But I was already struggling with resources now, With light armor nerf, cp removals, and nerfs, BSW nerf, Battle Roar nerf, sustain help nerfs from other players, etc... It just is overkill0 -

They're taking away my main source of magicka sustain, which was the CP line "Magician." It reduces the magicka costs of spells. With it, I had no sustain problems.
Without it, I'm going to be hurting. The way I have my character built, it'll swing the opposite way for me, and instead of zero problems, overnight I'll have HUGE sustain problems. A small nerf to sustain would have been good. Instead, they decided to give us the Nerfapocalyse.
I say there's hope because they're always changing things. ZOS is like a teenager who's learning how to cook. She makes a giant mess in the kitchen, throws random ingredients in her meal, then hopes for the best. When the first meal gives everyone diarrhea, she then tries it again with different ingredients.

Kas✭✭✭✭✭Yes there will be some hope, here's why..you'll need one dk to buff sorc's flame damage. let's pretend for a second that all fights are perfectly pet-ready and thus sorcs are as OP as they said to be. if you have ~6-7 sorcs dealing 30+% fire damage, an extra mag DK can do MUCH lower dps and still be incredibly useful due to the unique buff - and it's not like a DK deals zero or only half a sorc's damage.
However, that is only true unless stam will be back (i think it's a realistic posibility, tbh) and meele spots will be sparse. I don't think you need an extra mag dk to take aways meele spots from stam versions for buffing the flame damage of 1-2 sorcs. not really worth it.
But as long as magicka and blockades of fire are the meta, at least one mag dk is very useful.@bbu - AD/EU

...He's ran out of resources at a 3m dummy, without orbs being shared group wide now - that's not a fair test at all. That's a burst test. For a 6m dummy he would have to heavy attack A LOT more.Boone

✭Yes there will be some hope, here's why..I would keep the DK. I would not keep a NB (which was about sustain and utility and already low dps), Templar (which has costly skills and needs it's spamable), or anything stam (In the pooper even before this) but I would keep an mDK. The reason is that fundamentally DK fits well in the new meta.
In this new meta you only fully heavy and DOT. Forget about spamables and forget about resource sustain. Neither are an issue as you cannot sustain with a spam-able so you simply do full heavy's instead and are never shy resources. DK is good for this as it has a 43% increased damage buff on heavy attacks and a plenty of DOT's. Sure, it probably still won't quite keep up with Sorc for a little while but this is because ZOS crazy broke the already strong Sorc when they gave it another DOT with the Volatile. It won't be that far behind though and ZOS seems to think it is weak right now as they relatively buff it every patch. It is better to be that class already doing good dps that ZOS ignorantly thinks is bad than the one that is doing slightly more they they have gotten a clue about. Just ask a Templar, it takes ZOS a while to get started but once they do they will not stop until it us totally unplayable.I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.0 -

The New meta will be laying down dots and heavy attacking which is what Magicka DKs excel at, I'm current leveling a Magicka DK for Morrowind to be my trials DPS. Out of all the classes to complain about Magicka DK isn't one of them.0

Couldn't tell you the one Sorc I play with runs Julianos/Lich non pet build and it's very surviveable but I could throw the same set up on any magica build and replace Ward with harness and be in pretty much the same spot.
The pet sorc will get nerfed if is over preforming as people say.
Doesn't change the fact that people are a salty kurmundegonie bag of ass hammers around these parts easily 50 % of the time plus.
