    I forgot who actually suggested the two handed weapons to count as two for sets, but I think an issue would result from it. However, the suggestion was to add a trinket like item to weapons, like an improved hilt or hanging trinket for Greatsword, Staffs, and a quiver for the Bow. This could be an awesome new system to mess with, and there is room for it in the UI.

    - I am in favor of Grim Focus being up for the duration no matter how many spectral bows you fire.
    - Cloak to break line of sight 100% of the time, however it's counters like magelight and reveal pots would work as intended 100% of the time.
    - HA to tank physical/spell damage mostly preserving Health pool, poison damage shouldn't empower wrath, it should cripple them from the inside not give them extra Bane juice. If poison damage needs to be nerfed, so be it.
    - LA should boost magicka based classes enough to make them viable anywhere by granting them more resources.
    - MA should do the same as above but for stamina based classes.
    - Improve actual weapon damage values to compensate resource nerf, instead of flat 1335, move it to 1500.

    ICE STAVES
    Move taunt to one of the staff attack skills and off of heavy attacks.

    EQUIP CRAFTING
    Craft 3pc or 4pc sets by throwing out one or two of the 2-3-4pc bonus at crafting.
    Craft lower level gear with higher material but at lower level style.
    Remove 10x mat cost for cp160

    TRAITS
    Normal quality nirned weapons increases weapon/spell damage by 5%*
    Normal quality sharpened increases weapon/spell damage by 5%* for DOT/HOT only
    Normal quality precise increases weapon/spell damage by 5%* for non-DOT/HOT only
    Normal quality powered increases healing by 5%* (HOT and other)
    *5% just an estimate and subject to change - just want to establish pattern. Same patterns for armor with AOE and non-AOE with nirn being all.

    Those are awful suggestions for nightblade, and you should feel bad for making them.

    All we need is stam sustain added back to Siphoning Attacks and dps buffs for PvE in ways that don't impact PvP (the grim focus suggestion hugely impacts PvP).

    Disagree, the changes on siphon supports either build, like every other class. Even Templars don't get a skill that returns both. This puts us in line with all other class in update 14.

    What you don't recognize is our biggest issue for DPS is our rotation is extremely wonky. Extending the duration of path to 12 to 15s makes our rotation much easier since path is usually off bar. Grim focus has a similar issue, it's usually off bar and it's animation and required double cast reduces our damage in both time to cast and that the second cat does no damage.

    I'm not just looking at dps rotations. I'm looking at every sphere of the game as a whole. Meanwhile you're making balance suggestions in a bubble.

    I know how the dps rotations work. Increasing the duration of Path by a few seconds would be nice, but it wouldn't make mageblade any more desirable for dps. We need larger changes to multiple abilities.

    In PvP, a defining characteristic of nightblade is that it consumes a high amount of magicka for utility and stamina for defense. Stamblade relies on using fear and cloak a lot, so it either uses Siphoning Attacks or drinks (it's the only class to still use mag + stam regen drinks commonly). And mageblade has to roll and block and break free a lot because it has no burst heal or purge native to the class, and does not deal damage if it builds block cost reduction like templars and DKs. It also deals paltry damage if it uses drinks, so its high dual stat consumption is enabled by Siphoning Attacks.

    So yes, the Siphoning Attacks change is fundamentally undermining a core and defining nightblade class mechanic and injures the class as a whole. Why do you think making nightblade more like the other classes is a GOOD thing??? :joy: Does class uniqueness mean nothing to you?

    The Grim Focus recast is also a necessary PvP mechanic because it puts a damper on nightblades' momentum in fights. It's also a deliberate and core mechanic within the class that the original devs put in place for a reason. If you make Grim Focus auto-recast, then it functions identically to frags normalized for rng. Do the math. Removing the recast would give us one more reason to play sorc, not one less.

    You can increase your dps parses in other ways. Buff numbers or rework an unused ability like Agony. Don't trample on mechanics that impact other parts of the game in ways you don't even understand just because they're the first ideas that jumped into your head.

    I wish for removal of 5pc passives on armor skill lines redo the passives to all offer per peice effects doing so would allow much more flexibility with builds and sets

    Ex: agility 12% wep dmg increase with 5pc of medium or more.

    New effect: adds 2% wep dmg per peice of medium armor up to 14%

    Doing this would allow us to tailor our strengths and recoveries a bit more to our builds and would be a god send with undaunted mettle

    Imho, your logic makes a lot of sense for enchantment (not arguing a change there), but I could agree my point by hands used or size of weapon

    1 item = 1 set bonus. That's how it should be. And there is a trade-off for it. You don't get to have the best of both worlds. Just speaking in fairness.

    Fairness is great, but one build being able to have two 5 piece bonuses and others not isn't fair. If that means they need to adjust something else to compensate, ok.

    Undo every single change to class sustain abilities like Siphoning Attacks and get rid of the cost increase to Vigor.

    Are you aware that the set count has been that way since launch?

    Are you aware that that means that every single live run, every single test run for every single patch and balance since then has had that 11 vs 12 factor already built in?

    So, no, suddenly three years out they dont need to just "adjust something else to compensate" for set bonus counts.

    that is not saying that every weapon is balanced or that every set is balanced just that its not set counts 11 v 12 that are the cause for any current imbalance - since the imbalances have over the three years ebbed and flowed between magica and stamina between this and that etc.

    The set count has been one of the most consistent things with the only major shifts being the introduction of maelstrom and master weapons and monster sets to a lesser degree.

    But set count is a big rock, not a scalpel, and since the "shorted" big weapons like say destro staves, resto staves, 2h and bow each have areas where they shine, hitting them all with the big rock to straighten out perceived popularity in different small closets of content is not the way to go.

    if one tire is leaking air, you dont take sledge hammer to every tire and the trunk.

    I just hope they won't destroy sorcerer class too.

    I play all classes and frankly none of them sound fun anymore next update and i don't even know where to begin to look regarding what to change. I never had this "infinite sustain" issue myself :(

    For sorc i think things will go along way if they simply stopped the shield stacking but knowing ZoS i expect them to make shields completely useless instead and ofc a bunch of other unnecessary changes.

    btw. I might be the only one but all these changes have completely taken away interest i might have had in trying out the new class.

    Nightblade is my favorite class, so some love would be appreciated. But in the end, i just want to see a more engaging and fun combat in Morrowind, hope the next PTS incremental helps with that. Get this thing more balanced zenimax, you can do it. BTW i like where we are going, sustain and healing were broken af. Keep it up!

    First, thank you for a detailed explanation of your perspective. Now I still disagree, maybe it's my style of play but I personally believe in simplistic fixes and like the sustain changes overall. You don't.

    Now just so you understand, I have a 314 skill point mage/hybrid NB that I've played since PS4 launch. My suggestions are not whipped together but my perspective.

    You should learn to argue without diminishing the other person. That's literally the first step of showing you've lost the argument.

    On agony, I love this skill as an alternative to lotus fan when I'm staying ranged, vs wanting to melee. Most like to gap close because they either don't take impale or use steel tornado. Agony is really only useful if you're not using path+ lotus. Most take those therefore it's used less but it's not useless.

    Agony and malfeasance could use tweaking, but they do not cause the rotation problems that path or grim do. Given the sustain changes, which I like, and therefore the heavy attack use increase, this is even more pronounced thus my suggestion.

    You may not agree, and that's fine, but I don't care. I do care that you keep suggesting your well reasoned ideas as maybe the devs will give us something to help round out the class.
