PVP should be across the map of Tamriel
It does not make sense AD to walk quietly as in a country walk in EP or DC territory
Since this is a war, why is not pvp area the map of the enemy faction ??

I'm with you. The lack of real world PvP outside of cyrodil sucks. Makes most of the game static and boring. All these beautiful landscapes and there is no real danger, just NPCs to contend with. Real world PvP would make this game dangerous and exciting.

You used to need Cadwell's quests to visit the other factions, and it actually made sense then. But players preferred "freedom" to "coherent storytelling," so here we are.

Because it would be a backwards step.
One tamriel opened the map, pvp in all areas would lead to pvers leaving the game.
trial groups dungeons due to zone chat not working would be harder to find again. Selling items also being harder and farming resourses would be a bigger nightmare. It would be worse than before the factions opened up.
I say that as someone who does both pve and pvp i like both and spend weeks at one then the other. if you want to open world pvp just put on your duelist title and take auto decline off. That should flag the other like minded people.

It would lead to meaningful player made content all over the game map. If u'r out farming, u should have more to worry about then NPCs on a static patrol route. This type of lifelesness in most of the world makes it feel static and unnatural. It's supposed to be a war, not a series of safe places for pvers to slaughter NPCs in the hundreds and pick cotton non chalantly.

I always wear my duelist title but that doesn't seem to solicit any dueling invites.

Unfortunately, for ESO, this overworld PvP could only be consensual. I doubt we'll get it even in that form though.

I think a split between PvE and PvP servers would be the best bet. U know? Like all the most successful classic MMOs? If memory serves me correctly, the PvP servers in those games were always the most lively.

Originally, the bounty system idea was this. A player collects bounty from another that has it in the world by simply hunting them and killing them. This was scrapped.

They should revisit this. Defending ur lands from invading players, the content and daily quests opportunities are endless. Would make the whole game feel genuine and alive. It's real strange u can only murder NPCs and get bounties for activities like that. Their original concept of a bounty system has worked before, all the way back to games like ultima online.

PvP is a vile, terrible thing, inhabited by vile, terrible people*. I would not be here, if it were a "pvp game". I won't claim to speak for "many of us" or anything like that.

Tamriel is devoid of real danger.
I'm saying it would make more sense for the faction to be an enemy in everyone, not just in Cirodill, I'm not talking about catching resurges. Nor flag out of cyrodill

I know other MMOs in which it is possible to choose whether to play on a pvp server or PVE server

Even those who enjoy Role-play Elder Scrolls would have more fun.

I miss the stealth and Bow (no target, simulando gravidade) classic of the Elder Scrolls obviously this would be welcome in the online

No. Simply no. PvERs would leave in droves. They are not gonna do separate mega servers for PvP and PvE for NA, EU and the consoles.
  • infernomorgothb14_ESO
How about you can zone into an area, like say stormhaven. And it is the normal instance of the zone. Now you can pull up a side menu and enter the PvP instance which is optional. It is exactly the same as the PVE instance except faction PvP is allowed. People can cry about ganking and camping all they want, but that is the players problem..its a sandbox where anything goes.

Or they can have a system like old SWG where you can flag your self as overt, and are targetable by other overt players in the opposing factions anywhere in the game...this is probably the best option.

For the record....ESO currently has the worst PvP i've ever played in an MMO, I had much better times in SWG, WAR, SWTOR..GW2 etc.

you are right. i vote "yes" and agree with pvp everywhere.
only thing i ask is for some safe areas where we can do things without pvp, like quest givers safe space and safe towns and things like spawn points and things like that.

As I said, I know another MMO has separate servers unique to anyone who wants just PVE or PVP/PVE

I think strange MMO to fight with NPC being so it is better to play RPG single play, since they do not develop the Elder Scrolls VI ... they should have made it more faithful to lore.

Good to see some ppl up for game reform, and the injection of some life and authenticity to this "war". The PvE [snip] crowd is always so onerous and loud. Either seperate servers or seperate instances (too a much lesser extent) would be the way to go. Let's keep this discussion going. ESO has a lot of potential, let's hope this thread gains more traction.

Pvp is this game is horrible and should be downplayed as much as possible until it is fully apart from pve. No shared sets between the two no nonsense nerfs ruining pve because some lame ass has massive pens in pvp due to what should be pve only sets.

The pvp population would be sparse, so to speak, being spread out across the whole of tamriel. More than likely it would simply become a gank fest. In my opinion it could end up doing more damage to pvp than good.

Split the megaserver into a PvP and PvE mirror. They [SNIp] can farm their NPCs in peace, and those of us who want genuine war will have it. The PvP/PvE split is proven to work for everyone by precedent and no one can deny that. How would this drive players away? The only reasonable assumption is it would attract new players from the old school WoW/EQ/UO crowds.
