Vaults of Madness Wraith- The Cursed One is broken

For over three months, this boss has been broken, the drain attack he does is aimed at a random player in the group and drains their health and the healer is meant to be able to heal through it, howeer every time i have tried it, even on normal, the boss ticks the damage 8 times a second so it is completely impossible to heal through the drain. I even put barrier on and it turns out after he finishes the channel animation, it still drains while he is using other attacks so it just stacks over until you get took out.

His damage with the beam is based on how much damage he takes, stop attacking him and he hits like a wet noodle. Working as intended, just need to know the mechanics, although this guys mechanics are to be fair really hard to figure out.

Ok that makes a bit more senes, but channeling while he is using his other attacks?

Not sure about that part but here is my advice if you want to go through with no death. Wait with attacking him until he is done with the beam and then nuke him. So kill the trash before hand and leave him until after he has completed his beam attack.

Just got through that wraith after using the above strategy but the drain beam was still on me a long time after the phase was over and was attacking the other group members so this does not seem like it is meant to happen.

There are two ways to no-death this boss.

The first way is to burst him down before he does the channel. Pretty easy to do if you have everyone--even the healer--drop bursty ults (destro ult instead of meteor) on him immediately.

The second way is to follow the mechanic. You have to be very careful about this, since any lingering ground effects and DoTs that continue to tick will be reflected back onto the victim. But if you can hold DPS, you can basically stand there and take no damage during the channel. The channel does last for a very long time, though.

And the clue for how this mechanic works is that the boss will say something like, "Share my pain!" when he starts the channel.

No, and I've never observed that. The beam does last a very long time, but certainly not longer than half a minute, and he will do no other attacks during that time. It may be a visual glitch where the visual effect is still there even if he is not channeling.

More than just visual though cause as soon as we started attacking again, cause i thought the same i thought oh it must just be visual so i called out to start attacking as he was doing his rooting attack at the tank and then i just dropped
