I think his Quality Control is borked. That post (and subsequent follow-ups) need some serious copy-editing.

To be fair, I did find his/her RNG conspiracy thread absolutely amusing.

Much like watching an Alex Jones rant can be amusing...

You can tell me not to use heavy armor on dungeons all you like. I have beaten the maelstrom arena wearing it and swinging a 2H.

    Chew on that.

How is that related to group dungeons? I hope it was a joke/ an attempt to be sarcastic.

You can do 20-25k with a 2H, just gotta roll the right class. I'd be shocked to see a DPS in full plate though, that's just, idk man lol
That's exactly his point. You can do 20-25k with a 2H. So if you want to minimize the chances of getting kicked - don't use it.
    ThePonzzz wrote: »

You're absolutely right. People are kicked all the time. Usually before the dungeon even starts though. Once someone sees you're not 600 CP or you're wearing a costume/polymorph. It's crazy that PUGs, where the people with little experience, are being put up on display during dungeon diving. Join a guild if you're that hardcore into min/maxing your dungeon experience. Punishing a PUG is just ridiculous.

You know, you only see one side of this. I usually don't kick people and don't mind explaining mechanics and such. But you know how it ends? This tank in vet ICP wouldn't taunt the boss or would turn him so he faces the group, ignoring explanations in chat. I would explain again and ask if he understood, he'd say yes, and well my plan was to not give up on him unless he admits to trolling or something. Then the first vote to kick comes, I press no, the tank is not kicked. The healer (Who did his job properly) says "him or me". What am I supposed to do? Yeah I don't want to be a bad guy, but I also want to complete the dungeon. Lost 2 healers over that tank, finally kicked him. Got another one who was just as bad if not worse, another healer (who was ok left).. In the end there you have it, 3 people doing their job that can't progress beyond the first boss for the time that's enough to clear the whole place.

People might not be hardcore into min/maxing but still want to clear the dungeon and not have friends online that night. Or they can be in hardcore guilds. And guess what? Most people in hardcore guilds don't run pledges anymore. Good luck finding a group for them there. It's possible, but rarely and not consistently. Raiding guilds are more about raiding.

So in the end, you're telling me (an abstract me) to not punish a PUG and punish myself instead. Why would I do that? Why do you think anyone should do that?

And once again, I'm okay most of the times if I have to deal 60-80% of group's DPS and all that. But sometimes a person is a difference between clearing and not clearing, really easy and really hard. And every time you don't kick a pug or low cp - you are risking losing better players, which results in waiting for a replacement etc. So makes it longer than even bad DPS.
Hahaah i love the TRIGGERED responses

I think this is the real reason for your post, not to give tips.

He killed two birds with one stone. The tips are relevant too.

2H doesn't necessarily mean you have low DPS, but in my experience in 100% cases it does. Moreover, it correlates with other things. It shows immediately that a person doesn't know PvE mechanics and you can bet that he won't know the fights and won't know how to pve in general. Even if you explain what to do, he will fail to do some of it, because most likely it will be the first time him even trying to do what we did since level 1.

Couldnt have said it better myself.

People dont get the difference between being mean, honest, and helpful.

If u cant handle elitist kicking u for not carrying your weight then find another game :)

I for one wont hesitate to kick or lecture if u are slowing my group down.

The OP is getting bashed a little bit, and I am probably not going to help. My first impression was: elitism strikes again. Reminds me very clearly why I no longer do any.....any group content. Save for the occasional Dolmen or WB boss I jump on when riding by when the fight happens, I have never joined a pre-made group or formed my own group. Why, you might ask (or might not ask)? I got very burned out on group content in WoW. You might be tempted to call me a crappy player, or anti-social, but neither are true. During WoW I was consistently in the top 5 on my realm for DPS. I was in a top 3 raiding guild on my realm. I walked away from the game with 11 max level characters (before you could buy max level), maxed professions on all of them, and spread across heals, DPS and Tank. I got fed up with the attitudes, the way I was expected to act and treat others being in a top raiding guild, the way they thought they could treat me, and also with the direction the devs were taking the game. I simply walked away, started characters here, vowed never to do group content again, and have been enjoying this game ever since.

If players are not enjoying the dungeons, why run them? Perhaps it is the people, taking the game way too seriously, that are ultimately the cause of most of the grief? Just a thought, and probably not a very popular thought, but there it is none-the-less.

My rules for kicking DPS from normal dungeons:
    *

My rules for kicking DPS from vet dungeons:
    * Not enough DPS to pass a DPS-test wall (e.g. flesh atronachs before they enrage)
    * Not following required mechanics (e.g. portals during planar inhibitor) AND not listening/reading chat

I might be weird, but I actually like teaching random people mechanics/tricks. Sure, some dungeons can take a while, but that's the fun of the game for me.

Nothint wrong with having a opinion or standards lf you're own.

You dont seem triggered or seem like the type that gets mad when he gets kicked so you shouldnt worry

I simply made this thread for tips for people who get kicked and dont have a clue why and want to do something about it.

So many dps tips you can get from YouTubers and streamers there is NO EXCUSE for weak dps if you are over 300 Cp .

I had cp160 people in my group that do GREAT DPS. Why? Because they use right skills and rotation etc.

Its usualy stam characters that lack dps due to them using bow and 2hand or heavy armor.

Things that will get you kicked by group members ( INCLUDING ME )

***Edit - No need to be triggered this is simply for people who dont know why they are getting kicked and would like not to get kicked
    Anymore :)***

    1. Make sure to set your group role to what you actually do.
    2. DO NOT COME IN WITH HEAVY ARMOR IF YOUR A DPS
    3. DO NOT USE A 2 hander in vet dungeons
    4. DO NOT SPAM LIGHT ATTACKS AND POISON INJECTION WITH YOUR BOW
5.DO NOT GO WEREWOLF FORM IN VET DUNGEONS AROUND ME

Those 5 actions above will get you kicked in no time by a lot of people including me :)

Im a nice guy but i dont got time to be sitting there watching u spam light attacks with a bow or sit there with your 23k health heavy armor dps LOL.

My last advice is to look up dps builds if you are new and struggling. There is no need to try to struggle with a weak dps build dps is very easy to pull off.

And its always no hard feelings when we kick someone hopefully they learn a lesson on why they got kicked :)

    Agree with 1
2 is ..... meh ok but is no need.
    3/4 = not valid.
    5.... bro pls STF.
If you are good enough you can do it with 3 players/ and it include chalange too.
And one advice. Using caps lock dont make you look more importand, neither make your little bo bo bigger (even if it grow alitle is temporaly so dont push it too much)

I am amused by this thread and I can't wait to pug with the character I'm currently working on which is a Stamina Nightblade, using a Bow for the mainbar, a 2h for the backbar, and Werewolf as my ultimate. I'm topping all of this off with the Thieves Guild costume because I like the way it looks. And, if I keep getting kicked from groups by hacks like the OP that only read about what meta is and who have never created "meta" before then I'll just do what I always do: get friends by being a decent person, and run veteran dungeons with them instead.

I'd rather have an understanding of the mechanics and learn to use those mechanics to suit my play-style. I know that some people just like to feel powerful and so they find someone else that did the work for them and run with it. That's literally how "meta" is made. But, what I do know is that if I listen to "advice" like this then I'll never find those interesting specs everyone else thought sucked because they didn't fit the play-style of the person who created the current meta. To this end, telling people to stop trying is not useful, it's not good for the game, and it doesn't solve the OP's actual problem of getting through content quickly. So, some real advice for people playing any group based MMO:

If you want to PUG end game content then heed this advice:
    1) Make sure you know how to play your spec and that it takes advantage of most game mechanics.
    2) You'll be wasting your time as well as everyone else if you are incapable or unwilling to pull your weight.
    3) Be familiar with the mechanics. Announce if you're new to the content but understand that end game isn't really the place for learning the ropes so expect to get kicked often, as it is unfair to force other players to carry you.
    4) Have a microphone setup and ready so you can communicate with your group if necessary.
    5) Be polite and courteous.
    6) It's a game, have fun, but try to avoid doing that at the expense of others.

    ***************************************************************

Now, so I can share my own amusement with the thread, this is how I read the OP's list:
    1) Duh.
    2) I don't like you, I don't want to like you but I need you to get through this boring slogfest so I can benefit. Stop wasting my time that is more important than your time by bringing characters worse than mine into a pug.
    3) I'm an elitist but I'm not good enough to carry you so go away, however I won't feel bad if better players carry me.
    4) I don't have enough friends online to avoid bad pugs so I'm going to use ALL CAPS to yell at the internet.
    5) I hate furries, so if you furry out in front of me I will vote to kick you.

    ***************************************************************

Also, there are some actually awesome people in this thread so shout out to:
TheStealthDude, who is awesome for being wise in the way of the MMO's
max_only, who actually understands what advice is and that IHateNightBlades is providing criticism which is less useful.
Supersomething, for attempting to derail a pointless thread with an amusing pointless debate. Also, Waffles...

    Finally, pointless thread is pointless, so enjoy people;

Just to make this somewhat constructive, I am wondering if there is a way to make 2H at least workable in Vet dungeons. I know it won't be as good as dual weild, but can it get the job done in the right hands?

Assuming you're using 5 medium armor 1 light 1 heavy. What rotation and gear set would be most effective?

    Thanks.

    Can you not read?

I tell them their dps stinks. For the second time

Ok ok...so...if you've got a friend that has really bad halitosis...

If you say, 'Dude, your breath reeks!' ...that's something...BUT, if you say 'Dude, your breath reeks, and you should try these uber-awesome mints I found, they really help,' that is called giving advice.

    Make sense?

Makes total sense thats why im trying to help people unlike you trying to baby them

Like grow up we arent kids this game is for 18 and up if you cant handle adults telling you what you are doing wrong or in your case if you just baby them all the time and say just play for fun you arent helping at all.

But you're not actually helping anybody by simply kicking them and then crying on the forums about it. He's asking you what actually proactive steps you are taking in order to fix the problem of bad players.

Your answer points to "No I don't tell them why, I just hope they figure it out"

I stated in the OP that you can look up builds and tips from pros on youtube etc...

I gave examples of why I WOULD kick someone and i gave tips on how to fix that including doing your own research.

    And i had a great time :)
