Tips for pugs who frequently get kicked for weak dps

If I have to look up You Tube videos and research how to maximize my character so I don't get kicked and "waste everyone's time", it sounds like content that I wouldn't enjoy in the first place with people that I wouldn't enjoy being around.

I'm sorry, but I simply cannot take this (or ANY) game that seriously. I already have a job that takes up way too much of my time as it is. If I have to research videos and min/max my toon's build just so I can carry my own weight - I'll pass.

I thought PUGS were kinda designed to get randoms together and figure stuff out. If you are PUGGING a vet dungeon, who is the real dumb ass here?

Things that will get you kicked by group members ( INCLUDING ME )

    1. Make sure to set your group role to what you actually do.
    2. DO NOT COME IN WITH HEAVY ARMOR IF YOUR A DPS
    3. DO NOT USE A 2 hander in vet dungeons
    4. DO NOT SPAM LIGHT ATTACKS AND POISON INJECTION WITH YOUR BOW
    5. DO NOT GO WEREWOLF FORM IN VET DUNGEONS AROUND ME

    1. Can't stand people not having their roles of what they are. Sorc questions as tank when clearly they are not tank. Ward and DPS and mobs go attack everyone. I agree with this kick.
    2. Meh it's fine as long you have the deeps.
    3. I hate 2 handers but won't kick as long you have the deeps .
    4. Yeah if that's all you're doing than you are useless to the group...kick
    5. Yea don't, but if you do, whatever don't stay in it long, it's more forgiving on the easy Dungeons.

Hah dude I remember when vwgt first dropped. Werewolf was so op with molag kena, back with essence thief. It was almost foolproof for the inhibitor, portals were easymode. Damn that sounds so scrubby looking back.

No harm no foul. I pug to pass time if I've got nothing better to do. Live and let live, I suppose.

Lol this thread is ridiculous. "You gotta max out your dps and look up elite builds on google and you got to make sure you're the best ever instead of just enjoying the game. Grind, remove all fun you are currently having and be rude to noobs". That's all I'm seeing

You don't have to max anything, no one kicks you because you don't have sharp vMA inferno staff or moon dancer, just don't do silly things like being a tank that doesn't taunt, or a DD in heavy armour. If you want to wear heavy, there's PvP for you, otherwise slot taunt and be a tank. My play time is precious I don't want to spend 2 hours in a dungeon because the other DD does 8k DPS and the tank doesn't know how to taunt.

I agree with most points aside from the 2H, I've seen plenty of good DPS with 2H.. I have seen however the poison arrow and basic shot with bow and it is so extremely aggravating.

It seems like a lot of people responding don't often do vet dungeons. And yes, the OP came off like a ***, unfortunately that doesn't mean he's wrong.

When I first hit cp 160 I started doing vet dungeons. I didn't realize the gap between vet and normal was so big so I just went in with what I had. A mix of blues and purples with my for soloing world bosses pet build on my magsorc. I got kicked three times in a row before I decided to change things up.

Downloaded a dps addon, turns out I was doing a good 5k dps. So I googled a quick guide, crafted my self a set of julianos and bought up a mother's sorrow five piece, swapped my build for dungeons, started doing around 16k dps... stopped being kicked. I've continued to improve my build for vet dungeons and now I'm nearing 30k dps single target.

So, do what you want outside of vet dungeons. Have fun, it's great. But most vet dungeons require a certain level of dps to be completed at all. And if your 'fun' build is stopping the other three people from being able to do the content they queued up for, they'll kick you or they'll leave. I usually leave because I'm just dps and we're easy to replace. But if you make a tank or a healer leave that usually just causes the entire group to disband.

Why so many hurt feelings? i said no hard feelings hahaha

Dont be fooled by the comments newbies if you do any of the following i listed you are most likely to get kicked .

    Remember .

    NO LIGNT ATTACKS WITH BOW
    NO 2 HANDER
    NO HEAVY ARMOR DPS
    NO WEREWOLF FORM

alot of the people who commented are not really looking out for you.

They say " dont worry we are all nice we play for fun we wont kick you just because you dont have Good dps"

Ya unfortunately thats not the case you WILL get kicked for doing things like i stated above.

And btw i always give everybody a chance with first boss to see how dps goes then i judge .

The only people here defending spamming light attack with bow and using 2 hander and heavy armor ARE THE ONES USING THEM LOOOL

They simply triggered by truth lol i would rather seem like a a**hole and actually help you then be like these guys on the forums who say i dont care what you use i just want to have "fun"

Just ignore those people lol and take my advice .

If your a stamina dps you should be usint DW and Bow on back bar thats the only options you have to be good dps. Period

Magicka has more flexibility due to plenty of AOE abilities.

If u want to run through content with good players and carry you're own weight you should take more time on you're build and it will be worth it :)

Again no hard feelings just giving real tips instead of the watered down walt disney message everybody here gives - "just play how you like to play the game"

    Lol cheers

Your spelling, grammar and attitude are fairly atrocious.
If you would like others to take you seriously, please change everything about yourself.
If you're mentally challenged and doing the best you can, I apologize.

Some of the replies are comical. Lots of folks with bad builds and rotations in denial here. :)

Okay never doing any dungeons with my main then.... I really want those skill points and purple jewels though... no point doing a dungeon on normal if I need say... viper jewels or selene monster helm. I spent last weekend trying to get purple jewels it was terrible ordeal..

Not being able to upgrade jewelery and the importance of monster forces me into vet dungeons when my character is 2h and Bow with PVP gear... i don't have another option when its bind on pick up...

    Yeah, he IS wrong.

If the OP is that serious about vet dungeons, why is he jumping into random groups? What a moron. Form a proper group.

My guess is a social misfit like him would never get invited to a group in the first place or he sucks so bad he runs PUGs hoping everyone else is worse so he can convince himself he is a skilled player.

    Either way, a tool.

He reminds me of those people that literally just scream into the mic over small details. Well, they're just as easy to kick.

Honestly people can kick for whatever they want but I'd think common courtesy is: kick players that legitamately are holding the team, else just leave if you don't like it.

Do what I do and meet the system halfway. Pug with a friend and you rarely have any issues that keep you from getting through it.

I'm not sure about how I feel about this post. I get that you want the best from your team and if you're going for certain dungeon achievements that require them to be finished under a certain time then fair enough, you will want good dps, and people who know what they're doing.

But if its not for an achievement, then whats the rush? Why do you need high dps? I enjoy a long fight to be honesy, as long as the sustain is good and I'm not constantly resurrecting players, then its fine, because its fun.

I'll make use of hawkeye, so I will use light attacks, and I also use siphoning attacks to restore stam so I need light attacks for that too. I'll use poison injection after a couple of poison ticks because my DoT is pretty nice, plus a few other little bits to keep that dps good. Its my play style, and if people don't like it then I feel like its their loss because they're kicking someone who knows how to use and deploy their skills etc.

By all means, educate me and tell me if i'm missing something that could make my play style more better because I'm always down for improvement if its possible. While I understand and agree that the OP wants to be efficient and have an efficient team with no problems, I don't think its fair to have an elitist attitude, tell people what moves they can and can't use, and kick them if they don't listen or because you don't deem it good enough.
