theyre getting ddos attacks@ZOS_GinaBruno - any chance for subscribers to get an extra day tacked onto ESO+? Seems kinda skeezy to pay for it when we couldn't pay due to mistakes on ZOS's part.

✭✭✭✭For me, it's not even as if the connection to the server is dodgy and off and on - I haven't been able to connect to the server for the best part of 12 hours now.

I'm also not connected to steam with this game.
Welp, was able to play for an hour or so, hopped off for a bit, came back again now and . . . login failed. This time, neither switching the 64bit on or off has made any effect.
EDIT: And yeah, as others have said above, I'm also not getting any news previews in the launcher. I did briefly the second time I reopened it but haven't since.Edited by Angelisaur on March 5, 2017 4:34AM0 -

alarinn✭✭ddos.....it happens to the best. Not much you can do except funnel them to a separate server. Sometimes, you can keep a file on all valid ip addresses and compare the ddos to them and dump them as they come in but you really need Amazon's servers for that. We've done that where I work and ddos attacks are considered nuisances by immature hackers.
FYI....the NCAA FBS are called by a committee including Condolezza Rice. Do you think she knows anything about football let alone know in detail all FBS teams? Highly doubtful. The ZOS Board delegates to those under them that do the work. All they do is set strategic goals for the direction of the company but how they get done are up to the project team leaders and portfolio managers under them.0 -

I logged into my account on the website with the same info so I know my pass and login are good.

I'm actually in the UK (I play on NA servers because of my schedule and because I have friends there, and run a guild on NA) and I got booted before 2 maintenances ago earlier today and haven't been able to get back on since.

Interesting. I did realize that it seems like it may be regional. Myself and another person who lives in the same state as me (Ohio) can't connect, but other people in the guild can. Guess that fits with what you're saying.0 -
misfitmanic✭✭✭It's currently 8:30 PM PST, and I am still unable to login. At least I got to enjoy my day off in other ways. Still, this is rather frustrating and I am a little disappointed in the lack of clarity regarding the situation from ZOS.
I know the primary staff enjoys their weekends just as much as the rest of us (please stop harrassing them and tagging them, they know something is wrong) but really, there is no excuse for having skeleton crews working weekends as that seems to be when traffic and system stress is at it's peak, and no reason why you can't afford to pay someone to post once an hour with updates, even if to say there are not yet any updates. Paying customers simply want attention during times like this.
My point is, to the community here, it's ok to come here and state your issue and ask for answers, but it should be done in a civilized way. We are all just trying to enjoy the art that we all love, and when it's crashing and burning we're all affected. Patience goes a long ways.
For now, I'm going to crack another brew and puff more skooma and lurk the interwebs as I'm too lazy to install another game just for what I hope is only one night of no access to the lands of Tamriel...Edited by misfitmanic on March 5, 2017 4:48AM0 -

✭✭✭✭✭So I was unable to log in after the first time the server was brought back online earlier, but since this second time bringing it back up I can. But it takes a long while to do it. I think I sat on the login screen for probably a good 10 minutes before the announcements showed up. Since then for me it just feels like an issue of things like zoning taking longer than usual.
But obviously other people are still unable to log in at all. There's obviously something still going wrong, and I hope ZOS is still working on it after bringing the servers back up.

Annnnnd now I'm back in lol, running 64 bit. I believe I left the launcher up for a little while before trying to get in? I saw the news previews suddenly appear, so I thought I'd give it a shot, and ala. No idea if that actually helped.Edited by Angelisaur on March 5, 2017 4:49AM0 -

After hearing it was regional I tried to use my VPN to put me in California (origianlly Floriday). As soon as I logged in from "california" I came right in.
Try using a VPN to reroute it.1 -
Bakkagami✭✭✭For anyone interested... did a bit of looking around and it seems like the login issues happening have to do with at&t services being down in certain areas (around wichita in my case and a friends) that is causing routing issues. (tracert to eso servers time out in wichita, and found a few reports that at&t services are down in the area) If that is the case I'm pretty sure there is near nothing zos can do but wait till att gets it sorted out since nothing they do with their servers will fix this particular problem.
Also, you can always run the trace yourselves to find out if the same is happening in your case. At least you will have somewhat of an idea of whats going on.0
