    :worried:

Wow that was fast. The whole post in this thread about the Zenimax Board of directors (and their ages) was quickly purged off this thread.

What ZOS, are we not allowed to talk about who governs us, who really calls the shots in this game? Robert Trump is on the board of directors. Don't EVEN try to censor that because the CoC rules about political posts because ITS A DIFFERENT TRUMP.

    ZeniMax's Board of Directors:

Robert A. Altman (Chairman and CEO, ZeniMax Media Inc.) (Almost 70 years old)
Ernest Del (President, ZeniMax Media Inc.) (65 years old)
Jerry Bruckheimer (Jerry Bruckheimer Films) (73 years old)
Michael Dominguez (Managing director, Providence Equity Partners Inc.) (47 years old)
Leslie Moonves (President and CEO, CBS Corporation) (67 years old)
Cal Ripken Jr. (President and CEO, Ripken Baseball, Inc.) (56 years old)
Harry E. Sloan (Chairman and CEO, Global Eagle Holdings, LLC) (66 years old)
Robert S. Trump (Different Trump, Don't get triggered) (69 years old)

All of these people are in their golden years and have NEVER played an MMO in their life.

These people call the shots at ZENI, please don't censor.

I'm just going to leave this here. I think you earned it.

    Also, have an awesome.

Except that this isn't civil disobedience. Mentioning the Board does not violate the forum CoC and I have no intention of trolling, flaming, or baiting. I am simply promoting a discussion about the nature of Zenimax Media and how it is governed because it directly affects us day to day.

If we are not allowed to even mention the names of the people on the Board of Directors, then something is severely wrong with the way this company is managed.

You're right. Perhaps I had the wrong person.

It all comes down to the ZOS shareholders, they wanted higher margins, so sacrificed capable equipment and/or staff to cut costs and reduce risk. Grow a pair and you could end up with quarter after quarter of growth, or keep throwing out cheap tricks to get through the FY. Either way eventually the point will come where you have to make the decision to liquidate

Yet everyone keeps saying how we dont need any more NA servers. Really?

The speed of light is finite and measured. Network signals, like anything electrical, travel at the speed of light. Therefore if NA players were forced to play on EU servers, there would be latency similar to what occurs when people attempt to play games over a satellite connection. Put simply, it would not work. So for as long as we have an internet, all major online releases will require separate servers for Europe and North America. So nut up and wait.

I was talking about more than one NA server. Or did you not understand that? With 1T, instancing has now become, 'fill each instance before creating another one' instead of instancing for the different factions in the area. Fewer instances=strain. So either buy the hardware to run it smooth or buy/rent several servers like every other MMO does. Seriously... with as popular as this game is, who's bright idea was it to run it on one server?

    Shareholders

Yup. What they forget is that without customers, there is no game so there is no shareholders.

The point is a lot of us really really love the game and they know that - so we seem to put up with anything- that is an unhealthy relationship.

Players need a bigger voice, thats why just focussing on 'streamers' or 'top theory crafters' recently ticked me off.
Something like a proper group of player advocates - dont know if it will work, but something.

Where are they now? Where are these famous streamers? Are they willing to address Zenny to reflect that this is not good enough? or maybe they wont get the next invite?

I've played this game from Beta up to TU and streamed it and I was very much a well known face in the community and streaming. I done my fair share of bickering at ZOS to try and improve things and when I seen the direction ZOS was taking the game with TU, I done EXACTLY what I said I would do, dropped the game cold turkey, unsubbed and did NOT touch it again until I seen ZOS was taking the game in a more positive direction.

If you want a voice as a group, dropping this game when you're beyond pissed with their performance and if the game is below your level of approval of where it should be then STOP PLAYING, period. You shouldn't need any big group of famous streamers to say anything at all and the player base should not just "put up" with anything from the devs b/c they WANT the game to be good.

If they make the game good then ppl will play, they will come back and that's what I am seeing but to just stay and put up with garabage b/c you WANT it to be good is complete crap.

ZOS will read your feedback and suggestions and I know they do, trust me. They don't listen alot of the times (immediately) and sometimes never will but I can tell you ZOS does listen. They have had their hands burnt in the past over decisions they've made and it's obvious from what I have seen in the past 3 yrs of this game they have learned valuable lessons and continue to do so.

I hope they do some upgrades before Morrowind comes out, it is stuff like this that even makes me reluctant to buy it.

Me too, but frankly I'd have to say this is a blind hope at this point. For one thing, I've tracked back through the forum history and some of these problems have been going for a very long time, and furthermore, ZOS have already proven that they're not into the idea of getting all the serious existing problems fixed before they introduce more content and complicate the game.

I think that they're hedging that they will make more profit by fixing less, but I think that in the long run, and particularly in 2017, they will lose more players than they gain. *PREDICTION!*

As long as they buy the box and some crowns before they quit, that's a win in ZOS' book. Gotta love the B2P model...

Well on a separate but similar note, I'm surprised at how board of directors seem to be a very assorted background of business people XD. I would never have thought that Cal Ripken Jr. and the head of CBS would be in the ESO chain of command together.

"2017, they will lose more players than they gain" (Kevlarto)

The year 2017 has many new features in the MMORPG industry, older games usually lose some audience, however and as announced by ZOS itself, more drastic changes in the game are being debated - they involve the mechanics, animations, the engine itself, Etc and, I believe, the perfection (better) of the servers.

Well, at least that's what I expect.

I agree. Though I don't know why their age is being pointed out. The people in those spots sole purpose is the run the business not developers or any of the like. It is the job of whoever is in charge of the servers to step up and say hey we need better servers, more servers, or whatever needs to be done to improve their actual server performance. I don't know why this has been an issue over the years but I can't imagine after all these years they don't know what is causing it and haven't taken the steps to help prevent it from happening by now.

Well on a separate but similar note, I'm surprised at how board of directors seem to be a very assorted background of business people XD. I would never have thought that Cal Ripken Jr. and the head of CBS would be in the ESO chain of command together.

Suddenly all the bizarre decisions that seem to favor marketing over gameplay can be seen in a different light. Except that some of those decisions lose more money then they gain due to frustrated players, people who would love to spend more Crowns on what they want but it's just not for sale.

For example, There are people right now that would pay tons of crowns for upgraded item limits on their houses. However ZOS wants you to buy the top tier houses to get more item slots. So the business decision seems simple. Limit the item slots for the smaller houses and that will tempt people will buy larger. Except that they don't. Some people actually like the medium, and large houses. It's an aesthetic choice, not just simply a size choice. But the business model forces people with large houses the same size as the manors to have full empty rooms because of the highly restrictive item count.

I had a friend excitedly show me his house in game today. He was going to make a fancy Roman Colosseum Dueling arena with imperial pillars and other exclusive crown store items. It would have been about a 5000 crown purchase just of crown items alone but when he found out he couldn't furnish his house AND have a cool arena under the 600 item cap limit, he got discouraged and gave up. Guess he should have bought the manor. Except he doesn't like the manor. He likes the one he picked. So ZOS lost his business by having such a strict and bizarre limitation.

It's these kinds of decisions and the pure lack of communication when we ask for obvious features that make us scratch our heads and wonder where the communication barrier comes from.

And it seems players have been *conditioned* to simply accept that we won't be told - that goes for a lot of things.

There will even be *fanbois* who will tell you to 'quit your whining', 'take a walk' or whatever.. It's as if Zenny is beyond being transparent or being held accountable.

Many of us who play are not 10 year old kids - We are adults often in long term professions, IT, science, Law, marketing, retail and every other profession you can think of, or students and many other things.

I still dont know why we are getting 'conditioned' like this.
