Not only something completely innocent getting censored, but it actually took me about a half dozen read-throughs to figure out what it was before it was censored. Censoring it made it seem like it should be dirty! I had trouble coming up with the real non-dirty version because I was fixated on trying to find a dirty one that would make the automatic censors kick in! :D

These downtimes across the multiple platforms are starting to get way too frequent, it's like almost once per week atleast 1 platform has some kind of ''ongoing issue''. Isn't the weekly maintenance supposed to prevent this kind of stuff from happening in the first place?

One would expect that a serious company like Zenimax could maintain a level of quality on it's ''AAA'' mmorpg.

I really like this game and understand that problems are expected to happen sometimes, but hell, ESO has more downtime in 1 month than other mmorpgs I have played have in years.

To clarify, it's on the screen where you log in to your basic account, not the actual little launcher:

Click on server, then select EU.

if I log on to the EU server, will it affect my NA alts in any way? Are my NA alts still perserved or am I locked in to EU now?

No, it's like starting the game over again.

Yes, but what about my 10 NA alts? will they remain untouched? I think you can understand my concern here.... I just wanna make sure nothing happens to those toons - Im happy to tinker around in EU if NA toons are safe.

You can tinker around in EU as much as you like, the servers and character info is completely separate - nothing you do on one server will affect your characters on the other (just disable addons like MM or craftstore on the EU server, because since 1tamriel your data will get messed up a bit if you login there with those active as there is now only 1 addon folder rather than 1 for each server).

But characters, gear etc. are totally separate.

I disagree with the age thing. Im 54 and have played and programmed games since before there were hard drives. But you're spot on about quality vs the bottom line. Too many companies figure that if they arent making uber profits, it's a fail and forget that a business runs a 2% margin for profits is successful.

It all comes down to the ZOS shareholders, they wanted higher margins, so sacrificed capable equipment and/or staff to cut costs and reduce risk. Grow a pair and you could end up with quarter after quarter of growth, or keep throwing out cheap tricks to get through the FY. Either way eventually the point will come where you have to make the decision to liquidate

Yet everyone keeps saying how we dont need any more NA servers. Really?

The speed of light is finite and measured. Network signals, like anything electrical, travel at the speed of light. Therefore if NA players were forced to play on EU servers, there would be latency similar to what occurs when people attempt to play games over a satellite connection. Put simply, it would not work. So for as long as we have an internet, all major online releases will require separate servers for Europe and North America. So nut up and wait.

I was talking about more than one NA server. Or did you not understand that? With 1T, instancing has now become, 'fill each instance before creating another one' instead of instancing for the different factions in the area. Fewer instances=strain. So either buy the hardware to run it smooth or buy/rent several servers like every other MMO does. Seriously... with as popular as this game is, who's bright idea was it to run it on one server?

    Shareholders

Yup. What they forget is that without customers, there is no game so there is no shareholders.

What this person is saying is not that they want to be on EU server. NA needs another Mega Server, like EU which has not just one MegaServer when you login but a choice between a few MegaServers. This would allow NA players to not be so compact on just one server. Basically like how nearly every other game splits their total population across multiple servers.

The point is a lot of us really really love the game and they know that - so we seem to put up with anything- that is an unhealthy relationship.

Players need a bigger voice, thats why just focussing on 'streamers' or 'top theory crafters' recently ticked me off.
Something like a proper group of player advocates - dont know if it will work, but something.

Where are they now? Where are these famous streamers? Are they willing to address Zenny to reflect that this is not good enough? or maybe they wont get the next invite?

    Glad to clear that up.

It could be one of two things: a DDoS attack and they don't want to admit it. They got the server back up once and probably got DDoS a second time a little while later or they were brilliant and decided...Hey lets do this double AP xp weekend and see if we can break the servers.

    Also, have an awesome.

Except that this isn't civil disobedience. Mentioning the Board does not violate the forum CoC and I have no intention of trolling, flaming, or baiting. I am simply promoting a discussion about the nature of Zenimax Media and how it is governed because it directly affects us day to day.

If we are not allowed to even mention the names of the people on the Board of Directors, then something is severely wrong with the way this company is managed.
