Where is this simple click on the launcher?
To clarify, it's on the screen where you log in to your basic account, not the actual little launcher:
PLAY
SERVER
SETTINGS
CREDITS
QUIT
Click on server, then select EU.
if I log on to the EU server, will it affect my NA alts in any way? Are my NA alts still perserved or am I locked in to EU now?
No, it's like starting the game over again.
Yes, but what about my 10 NA alts? will they remain untouched? I think you can understand my concern here.... I just wanna make sure nothing happens to those toons - Im happy to tinker around in EU if NA toons are safe.

Wow that was fast. The whole post in this thread about the Zenimax Board of directors (and their ages) was quickly purged off this thread.
What ZOS, are we not allowed to talk about who governs us, who really calls the shots in this game? Robert Trump is on the board of directors. Don't EVEN try to censor that because the CoC rules about political posts because ITS A DIFFERENT TRUMP.
ZeniMax's Board of Directors:
Robert A. Altman (Chairman and CEO, ZeniMax Media Inc.) (Almost 70 years old)
Ernest Del (President, ZeniMax Media Inc.) (65 years old)
Jerry Bruckheimer (Jerry Bruckheimer Films) (73 years old)
Michael Dominguez (Managing director, Providence Equity Partners Inc.) (47 years old)
Leslie Moonves (President and CEO, CBS Corporation) (67 years old)
Cal Ripken Jr. (President and CEO, Ripken Baseball, Inc.) (56 years old)
Harry E. Sloan (Chairman and CEO, Global Eagle Holdings, LLC) (66 years old)
Robert S. Trump (Different Trump, Don't get triggered) (69 years old)
All of these people are in their golden years and have NEVER played an MMO in their life.
These people call the shots at ZENI, please don't censor.

As, you can see none of these geezers knows anything about games more complicated than monopoly.
@ZOS_MattFiror maybe if your company cared more about delivering a quality product than milking every dollar out of us. The game would run alot smoother.
I disagree with the age thing. Im 54 and have played and programmed games since before there were hard drives. But you're spot on about quality vs the bottom line. Too many companies figure that if they arent making uber profits, it's a fail and forget that a business runs a 2% margin for profits is successful.
I dont think its necessary to list these names here again?
in b4 close :'(
You are probably right. These names are public information, and as most people can see. None of these have any experience in the gaming industry.
There was no intention of causing hate, but I can see the original was deleted. So maybe it is being construed as that.
To be fair Cal Ripken Jr. does have gaming experience. Iron Man!

You can tinker around in EU as much as you like, the servers and character info is completely separate - nothing you do on one server will affect your characters on the other (just disable addons like MM or craftstore on the EU server, because your data will get messed up a bit if you login there with those active).
But characters, gear etc. are total separate.
These downtimes across the multiple platforms are starting to get way too frequent, it's like almost once per week atleast 1 platform has some kind of ''ongoing issue''. Isn't the weekly maintenance supposed to prevent this kind of stuff from happening in the first place?
One would expect that a serious company like Zenimax could maintain a level of quality on it's ''AAA'' mmorpg.
I really like this game and understand that problems are expected to happen sometimes, but hell, ESO has more downtime in 1 month than other mmorpgs I have played have in years.

LOL really ? If they were awesome at their jobs we wouldn't be having the issues we have (especially on weekends).

In order to assure we can keep the servers running tomorrow we're doing this....
If you're account name starts with A - H you will play from 12am - 8am EST.
Account names I - O plays from 8am - 4pm EST
Account names P - Z plays from 4pm - 12am EST

This is absolutely ridiculous. I have paid a crap ton of money to ZOS over the years of playing this game, and we seem to have the same exact problems every week. The lag has been an issue since launch. I was in the middle of a Maelstrom run with one of my best scores and you just bent me over once again. About ready to pull my funding on this game.
Indigo_Shade wrote: »Well phooey. First time I've had time to play in almost 2 weeks. This is the fourth time the NA server has gone down since I started to play. To be fair, once the problem was Steam, but sheesh.
Ah well, as they say, abcense makes the heart grow fonder..or somesuch.

Honestly, at this point that AAA status should be downgraded.

The speed of light is finite and measured. Network signals, like anything electrical, travel at the speed of light. Therefore if NA players were forced to play on EU servers, there would be latency similar to what occurs when people attempt to play games over a satellite connection. Put simply, it would not work. So for as long as we have an internet, all major online releases will require separate servers for Europe and North America. So nut up and wait.
I was talking about more than one NA server. Or did you not understand that? With 1T, instancing has now become, 'fill each instance before creating another one' instead of instancing for the different factions in the area. Fewer instances=strain. So either buy the hardware to run it smooth or buy/rent several servers like every other MMO does. Seriously... with as popular as this game is, who's bright idea was it to run it on one server?
Shareholders

Yup. What they forget is that without customers, there is no game so there is no shareholders.
I love how they keep saying "taking down for maintenance"
Maintenance is what you do to keep from having all these "Houston, we have a problem" issues. This is not "Maintenance". This is "Our stuff is breaking down without notice."
Glad to clear that up.
