But whoever at Zenny is responsible for the servers/hardware together with the current 'settings', e.g no CP test etc, need to take more accountability.... Whoever you are, come out of hiding and do your job plz
Yeah she's not responsible for whatever is happening, and is taking time on a weekend to give updates. Last person at ZOS anyone should be mad at, but "don't punish/shoot/kill the messenger" is a very old expression.
Ehhhh, not exactly. There's regular scheduled maintenance, and then there's emergency maintenance.I love how they keep saying "taking down for maintenance"
Maintenance is what you do to keep from having all these "Houston, we have a problem" issues. This is not "Maintenance". This is "Our stuff is breaking down without notice."
Glad to clear that up.

The speed of light is finite and measured. Network signals, like anything electrical, travel at the speed of light. Therefore if NA players were forced to play on EU servers, there would be latency similar to what occurs when people attempt to play games over a satellite connection. Put simply, it would not work. So for as long as we have an internet, all major online releases will require separate servers for Europe and North America. So nut up and wait.

Thank you Gina, any info is much appreciated.
Do you think I will be able to log on after this second maintenance is done? Some of us haven't been able to connect to the server for 7+ hours with the only response being that it is due to too many people trying to log in at once - I was talking to friends on Steam chat who were happily logging in and out of the game during that time, yet there was no acknowledgement of the problem some of us were having connecting to the server other than to say to wait a bit - but then still couldn't log in after several hours, and no new info or just saying "we're aware of the problem".
So yeah, any info, any news, even if it is bad news, is better than nothing. Sorry that you are having to do this on a weekend.
That's certainly the hope. What error message were you receiving earlier?

@ZOS_MattFiror maybe if your company cared more about delivering a quality product than milking every dollar out of us. The game would run alot smoother.
I disagree with the age thing. Im 54 and have played and programmed games since before there were hard drives. But you're spot on about quality vs the bottom line. Too many companies figure that if they arent making uber profits, it's a fail and forget that a business runs a 2% margin for profits is successful.

@ZOS_GinaBruno there's a thread about the ongoing login issues many of us have been having all day here:

It's got error messages, details on what we've been trying, even locations for where many of us are physically.

Wow that was fast. The whole post in this thread about the Zenimax Board of directors (and their ages) was quickly purged off this thread.
What ZOS, are we not allowed to talk about who governs us, who really calls the shots in this game? Robert Trump is on the board of directors. Don't EVEN try to censor that because the CoC rules about political posts because ITS A DIFFERENT TRUMP.
ZeniMax's Board of Directors:
Robert A. Altman (Chairman and CEO, ZeniMax Media Inc.)
Ernest Del (President, ZeniMax Media Inc.)
Jerry Bruckheimer (Jerry Bruckheimer Films)
Michael Dominguez (Managing director, Providence Equity Partners Inc.)
Leslie Moonves (President and CEO, CBS Corporation)
Cal Ripken Jr. (President and CEO, Ripken Baseball, Inc.)
Harry E. Sloan (Chairman and CEO, Global Eagle Holdings, LLC)
Robert S. Trump (Different Trump, Don't get triggered)
All of these people are in their golden years and have NEVER played an MMO in their life.
These people call the shots at ZENI, please don't censor.
Just to clarify, read some posts before my post (other guy type this, i just 'copy/paste' a line). Anyway, Trump still...errr...trump.
be careful, I got messaged by a ZOS moderator

You are probably right. These names are public information, and as most people can see. None of these have any experience in the gaming industry.
There was no intention of causing hate, but I can see the original was deleted. So maybe it is being construed as that.

I was talking about more than one NA server. Or did you not understand that? With 1T, instancing has now become, 'fill each instance before creating another one' instead of instancing for the different factions in the area. Fewer instances=strain. So either buy the hardware to run it smooth or buy/rent several servers like every other MMO does. Seriously... with as popular as this game is, who's bright idea was it to run it on one server?

They remain untouched. I've had characters on both serves since launch (even though I only actually play on NA, since I briefly experimented with playing on both), and they're completely separate in every way. You can't send items from one server to the other, or interact in any other way between the 2.StackonClown wrote: »tinythinker wrote: »StackonClown wrote: »tinythinker wrote: »tinythinker wrote: »Hmm, reading, leveling on EU server, or visiting Eorzea for while?

Yes, but what about my 10 NA alts? will they remain untouched? I think you can understand my concern here.... I just wanna make sure nothing happens to those toons - Im happy to tinker around in EU if NA toons are safe.
