You know I often feel we see these because new players come in, don't see one right away and then rather than learn how the current system works and see if they like it, just assume a AH is better and ask for one.

As a customer, I need a way of knowing where to go to buy an item I'm interested in. Manually fast travelling between every town in the game to individually check every single trade stall is just ridiculous, and if anything it's unrealistic to assume guilds wouldn't unite in these situations to spread awareness about the stocks they offer so potential customers are more likely to reach them.
That could be as simple as allowing Guilds to decorate their stalls with signs and displays that make it clear at a glance what they specialise in. Or it could be some kind of elaborate charter in key locations like banks that allow players to search all items being sold at every store (or perhaps by every guild that pays a registry fee for this charter), and tells them which store sells it. The player would still need to visit that store, but at least now there's a unified search system.
Obviously I'm saying this as a casual player, not a trader. But ESO's player trade system is so god awful from a customer's perspective that I gave up on even bothering with it long ago. Something needs to change.

Come to think of it I think ESO is the only current MMO with no centralized server wide AH atm.
I still don't understand the fascination with guild traders.
Been looking to buy a 160 ring of willpower for several days now and going to each trader has become so tedious that I've given up on the prospect of purchasing one off somebody.
It's so tedious, it's a wonder anyone manages to sell anything using them

Do you have any real suggestions. All trading guilds specialize in the same thing, selling stuff. Without a real suggestion it is meaningless.Kyle1983b14_ESO wrote: »Works for every other MMO plenty good, not sure why they never placed one in this game tbh.

Auction houses are the worst trading system in MMOs. Putting wares up for bid to have them sell to whoever is the highest bidder. Few MMOs have used this for a reason.

I saved 10k the other day by searching through a couple of zones for a motif page I needed for my Master Writ. The first one I found was 25k. A couple of zones later I found it for 20k. Then as I was just about to go back and get that, I thought "Let me check one more zone" and I found it for 15k.
Are you looking for an Arcane ring of Willpower? Are you on PC? Do you have the AwesomeGuildStore addon?
Well I am on PC and been here since the closed betas of 2013 and seen a billiion threads over the years about AH, no offence, but could not care less about console issues, past or present.
Plus this current topic has been discussed to death, so not a case of whether I want it or not.
It might have been discussed by you and others, the OP clearly has not shared in your experience.
Hate to break it to you, but this topic will continue to come up until Zenimax changes the system. If that bothers you, you may need to find something to do other than lurk on the forums.
LOL, sure, and I never once said it bothers me, so get your facts straight, and calm down with the projection, I just find it amusing how this topic keeps reincarnating to the same whiney drivel it normally is.
And you honestly think Zeni will change the system?
Good luck with that
If it didn't bother you, you would have ignored the thread and moved on to something more interesting. The only thing that the "whipping the dead horse" memes do is illustrate how much time and effort you put into the forums.
It's not the job of other customers to provide you with a fresh stream of forum content to peruse through.
You need to accept the fact that this is a public forum used by people who aren't experts on "all previously covered topics". You'll get there someday...maybe.
I use this now any time I am looking for a specific item.
https://tamrieltradecentre.com/
You can use the site for browsing all the guild kiosks across Tamriel, and if you want to participate you can use the addon and client so you can give them information when you use Kiosks.
Best thing ever and basically allows for a Global Auction House effect.
Even with all the add-ons, I find the auction system inadequate. It simply takes far too long to find what you are looking for.

I am in awe of your delusions of how you think I should act, I will look where I wish, and fyi, I have not put a "whipping the dead horse" meme whatsoever here, but please carry on with your superior ways.
Fresh stream of content? this might be news to you, there is a feature called, cue drum roll............search function on the forums, so that this topic which has been coming up loads since the beginning of the game might not be regurgitated ad nauseum once again.
Maybe one day, you can use your vaunted knowledge to learn there are muitiple threads of the same subject again and again, and who knows, maybe use the search function yourself.
And you are right, it is a public forum, and all opinions have validity, maybe I struck a nerve with you stating the fact this topic has been done to death, so to turn your awe inspiring arrogance and projection back onto you...
You might be better to lurk on the forums and see that it is a public forum and might just realise that maybe just maybe others have differing opinions to you and not to be insulting to others who might disagree by telling them what to do, tell them to spend their personal time, need I go on?
You will get there someday....maybe

An problem with an global action house is that it would push prices downward on common items and upward on popular ones.
Say you have some loot who is listed for 500 gold, you sell yours for 499 as you want an fast sale, number of items you can sell at once is limited. Next player sell his for 498 and so on until price is close to npc trader.
Popular stuff on the other hand will have prices skyrocket. You have plenty of players with lots of gold and they will grab rare items and push prices up a lot.
An global AH will also allow for price manipulation. You have lots of gold, now select an item who is pretty cheap not in great demand but needed a lot, tempers is an good excample.
Buy everything of it, now sell expensive, other sellers will follow your price. Suddenly epic tempers are more expensive than legendary onesContinue this until you have sold out the stored ones.
Repeat this on another item.
I'm pretty confident the closest thing we're ever gonna see to an AH in ESO is what we've got with the TTC add-on. Reading through many of the posts people are suggesting something that works exactly like the TTC website/add-on work right now. Granted without the requirement of outside resources like a website or client. But I don't think I could go back to the way guild store shopping was prior to discovering TTC.
I'd love to see ZOS implement something official in the same vein...But I'm not holding my breath. Then again ZOS has gone back on many previous design philosophies, so it's not completely out of the realm of possibility to see ZOS do something to bridge the gap between what we have now and an AH.

Fun i have access to all DLC and dont you dare tell us that Morrowind is DLC for it is not for if you do you clear have not read all info and ZoS explain why Morrowind is not a DLC but a Chapter (expansion)
Has been discussed in 5574651849849848499684 threads.
ZoS has said it wont be happening.
Yes, and imagine how much easier it would be to do with one action house. An problem with an global action house is that it would push prices downward on common items and upward on popular ones.

This has actually happened many times in ESO. The standout in my mind will always be when some big trade guilds bought up virtually all of the refined nightwood and reset the market price at a stupid mark-up. That lasted for a good couple weeks. Until those of us who recognized what was going on farmed the wood ourselves and brought the market back down to where it should've been.

TTC only updates if someones using the mod with the program in the background I believe, I found stuff that wasn't even listed on TTC at most times.

This way you can still feel special with trade guilds except you can do a search for items and not have to run all over Tamriel to do so.

That could work make it a server wide marketer one in each zone but all linked to each other
Yeah, arcane preferred. I've gone to just about every vendor over the last several days. My issue with this system is the asinine amount of time I've spent looking for the stupid ring.
