Another poll without value. Hate to say it but Zos is fully aware polls in the forums do not reflect on the gaming community. They do not even reflect on the forum users since many will avoid threads they fine have no value to them.

The guild traders will remain as they have proven to work well for the game. Zos sees the data of how well they work.

I think the OP is asking if you want an auction house, not if you will actually get one.

They need somehow to combine a system with global search of the guild traders.

I still don't understand the fascination with guild traders.

Been looking to buy a 160 ring of willpower for several days now and going to each trader has become so tedious that I've given up on the prospect of purchasing one off somebody.

It's so tedious, it's a wonder anyone manages to sell anything using them

Amazing how people so quickly forget that ESO doesn't have internet access for online shopping like we do with Amazon, and how they forget before the internet we actually had to go from store to store if we wanted something specific. Yet, they somehow expect ancient Tamriel to have internet global access... and how that type of thing would definitely be immersion breaking in a lore-based RPG.

^THIS! I belong to four Trade Guilds and have no problems making tons of gold each day; I just wish they would allow us more than 30 slots per Trader I could make even more.

The only thing I'd like is if guilds without active traders, could link another 5 guild stores in terms of access so you'd have up to 25 or so guild store drop downs total but it would be disabled if one of those had a trader for the week

Join a trade guild and problem solved. Guilds should remain separate to each other and having access to 25 guilds as you suggest is way to much.

I guess if I am a member of a trading guild that does not do raids they should be able to link to 5 other guilds that do raids.

Yes in preference to the guild trader system as it is, but it wouldn't be necessary if the existing system could be opened up to non-guild members as well as members of unsuccessful guilds, for example via a NPC trader with whom only a small number of items could be listed at a high commission to be shared between the guilds trading in that location. Plus a proper search function for buyers, of course.

The thing is, for some people, the trade guild is the game.

But I know if I want something, I head to the same few places and only if I cant get it there do I bother going anywhere else, and I suspect most people are the same.

What I will say is that with Zenimax saying they've sold another 1.5 million copies of the game, if all those copies were new players spread equally over 3 platforms and EU/NA, that would be an extra 250,000 players on each server. Of course selling 1.5 million doesn't mean they are all playing I just bought a 2nd account for example.

But even if we had 100K new players, how are they ever supposed to be able to join trading guilds, there simply wouldn't be enough spare slots in all the traders we have. So we either need more traders or a new system.

Otherwise you are always going to be in a situation where some players never get to be in a viable trading guild and while AH has its down-points, I would rather an AH than players never being able to easily sell their goods.


This poll is pointless, those that are in good trading guilds are going to vote they like it, those like me that get tired of going from one trader to another trying to find something and the item always selling for the same price wherever it's stocked, hence price fixing is still taking place, I guarantee that some traders go to all the out of the way traders etc and buy up any cheap stock and relist it, just like some do on Auction houses.

End result, the few love it, the rest have to lump it. Personally I hate the current system

There used to be thread after thread asking for text chat on the consoles, certain people used to comment "not this old chestnut again, how many more threads, Zos has said it's never happening" and of course our console friends now have it, so I would be happy for these threads to appear every single day and I suspect the vast majority of those who don't, are in one of the top trading guilds (who I see are now also buying up 2nd traders etc in case they loose their first bid, a very fair system I must say)

Like the above poster I would be happy for a city wide or faction wide AH, but then again I have players in each faction so all it ends up is me spending a couple of mins logging into 3 characters, which would still be a LOT quicker than using the current system

Out of all the thousands of ESO players, so far just 38 votes, 23 who are more than likely in trading guilds, hence jump on any thread like this, and 15 that aren't?

Except that if everybody tried to join a trading guild, every trading guild would be full and there would still be loads of players not in them.

I would be more likely to agree that guilds should be separate if all the traders weren't charging the exact same price for most items

I would love nothing more than a global auction house, I never use the guild stores, do not belong to a trade guild and just vendor all my junk and keep/use the rest.

I'm not trying to sell anything.

I'm trying to buy a specific thing at a decent price.

Looking through each and every vendor across each and every zone is lame.

It's tedious.

It sucks.

Guild traders are a crappy system. I have wasted ridiculous amounts of time looking for the things I want on something that doesn't even take that long in real life, let alone other MMOs.

Guild traders are a stupid idea.

Well I am on PC and been here since the closed betas of 2013 and seen a billiion threads over the years about AH, no offence, but could not care less about console issues, past or present.

Plus this current topic has been discussed to death, so not a case of whether I want it or not.

I've been on PC since open beta and have also seen all the threads. I did try the console version but hated it, one of the main reasons I didn't play it for more than a week was lack of text chat, and have since sold my PS4 so have always been a PC player. My point was that when this subject was bought up, posters had exactly the same sort of replies as yours, but in the end it did happen.

How do you or I know that the OP isn't a recent player asking this question? Doesn't matter how many times it's been discussed, I would much rather constructive threads than "done to death"/ "Zos has said it's never happening" type replies.

You know I often feel we see these because new players come in, don't see one right away and then rather than learn how the current system works and see if they like it, just assume a AH is better and ask for one.
