there are def a lot of DC who remain on walls... a good amount of us will jump down and fight though... hell... lol... last night i jumped off the wall not even noticing the keep was flagged... once i noticed it was flagged in ts i said " oh ***... i gotta be careful not to do anything stupid " luckily we pushed back EP at that point

I think AD is a little more likely but still pretty seige happy. Maybe that's why ep always loses keeps. Not enough seige

I will always survey the situation before I hop off, are there 40 enemies down there and 2 AD and the keep is flagged? Then hell no, I may try to support their silly butts but I'm not into stupid. I mean, not that stupid, I do plenty of dumb things. Now, sometimes a guildy will hop down there when I dont think its a good idea but he/she will go and I be like... Damnit *whoever*, ugh fine we will either do something amazing or go out in a blaze of glory together!

Agreed, I don't dislike Braveheart, but Gladiator is a better movie. The first movie I thought of when I was thinking "excessive firepots".

I agree, but I think it may have something to do with the influx of noobies. Unless I'm horribly outnumbered, you'll find me outside fighting to prevent the flag, I'll just keep on coming back too until I can't.

I used to teach EP that numbers don't mean everything and that the other half of ESO is mind-games. If it's 20 vs. 10, that 10 better do it's best to look like 20 and push that line lest you flee and get run over anyways. Most of the time, the actual 20 enemies begin to hesitate and fall back among there own ranks so that group of 10 can push into them and start wiping a few as the enemy turns tails and if you see enemy siege being set up in field battles you push it.
Also, If a keep isn't flagged/not being sieged, I will force people to jump off the walls and push out. Taking advantage of people scrambling is the best way to get AP.

What I've seen the past few days at least is there will be 4 in my group seiging, 10 DC on the wall when the keep is at 80% and they will set up 10 fire ballista. Like wut, I know we are scary with our bath towels and shiny shields, but with double the numbers and free rez why bother wasting the siege?

Edit: A mixture of siege pressure from the wall and actual player pressure on the ground will always be more effective than just one alone. I can purify fire balista and meatbag dots, but I can't purify someone constantly damaging and CCing.

AD is nowhere near as bad as DC when it comes to siege. EP seems to be allergic to spending AP on anything at all.

In my experience AD tends to be kind of hit or miss on that. Sometimes when there are about as many AD on top as enemies on the ground I'll hop down to try to encourage others to do so (I've noticed that sometimes for new players all they need to make that leap of faith is for somebody else to go down there first). But I've also jumped down when AD completely outnumbered the enemies on the ground, only to die trying to fight off 8 other players while a bunch of AD just stand there watching with their thumbs up their butts. I figure if nothing else, I can at least try to distract other players by kiting them away from where the siege is taking place, and even kill them if they wander far enough from their group.

I think about fighting at unflagged keeps in this context: if 20 DC/EP show up at an unflagged keep, then AD defenders effectively have infinite reinforcements until that keep is flagged. Especially when I'm solo - by virtue of not having to coordinate with a group - I get pretty brazen and just freeroll rezzes to try and play in siege and get kills. Generally, if you start picking off enemies they're going to have a rough time rezzing in siege. Basically, you've nuked their chance at that keep.

Plus, it feels *** amazing to run out solo, play in siege, and get 10+ killing blows "solo."

I took a few PvE players to AS yesterday. One of them was a tank and kept going up to the wall as people jumped off. I spent most my time healing him just so he wouldn't die.

The first time he died, he whispers me and says "F.. these guys hit hard!". I couldn't stop laughing because I knew he was wearing all PvE gear.

Ditto. The best time is right as they're setting up their sieges, some are lining up to fire their first shot, while others are running around staring at the ground trying to find enough space for a treb, at least half aren't paying enough attention to notice you've already picked off a few of them, then try and pull them off their sieges to fight, or punish them for not doing so.

Yup, as long as the keep isn't flagged, you really have nothing to lose by jumping down there. Keep an eye on the wall that is being sieged though; I've died on multiple occasions right as the keep flagged and had to ride all the way back.

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking or rolling a new toon on EP after my Mag DK vets out. While I'll always consider AD my "home" alliance, I think it'd be interesting to fight against some of the people I've never fought against since I've always played AD. And not that one person will really make much of a difference with population imbalance, but since EP needs the most help I'd much rather play with them than DC if I'm going to roll a non-AD toon.
