Fighting players are easy, they don't have millions of health, and they don't have monstrous attacks, and they don't have never ending adds spawn non stop, and lastly pvp don't have stupid mechanics to learn like in dungeons. So PVE requires more skills imo.

Due to pvp in this game being really screwed up: a lot of players DO have monstrous attacks, and a LOT of players are made in such a way that literally groups of 8 can't kill them within a short amount of time.

    Tough choice:

    - PvE is nice and challenging at first, but it quickly becomes a boring routine in which you use the same skills and tactics over and over again
    - PvP requires skill and getting used to... then again there are tactics out there that require no skill at all either

Both takes lots of skill. Just different kinds of skill.

Pve can be difficult but pvp can be unpredictable, it's a hard choice but I have to say pvp because if you battle in pvp and lose you don't always get a do over

PvP obviously. Beating PvE is just a matter of memorizing enemy attack patterns. Some might be a challenge at first, but everything is beatable.

That's not to say PvP is great in this game. It's a unbalanced mess, like PvP in every other MMO (if you want balance, you play MOBAs). But you're still playing against human opponents who will inherently be tougher than AI. With that said, I don't play PvP in MMOs because the lack of balance makes me angry, and that's not good for my blood pressure. I play competitive shooters and MOBAs for my PvP fix.

LOL at people that pick one and think that their side of choice requires the most skill.

I've tried to run PvE trials with a group of people who generally do nothing but PvP. It was comical at best trying to get us all to listen to the mechanics when everyone wants to just wing it.

It was comical because they never practiced it. Once you practice the level enough times, it becomes comically easy.

No amount of practice can 100% prepare you against a human opponent in a game.

I only play PvE, but there is no doubt that PvP takes more skill. It's an objective fact.

It's pretty simple: fighting an enemy that has real intelligence is harder than fighting an enemy with artificial intelligence.

There are obviously exceptions to this of course: some players in pvp are just terribad and are quite easy; and there are also bosses in some games that have ridiculous mechanics or just stupidly high health, so they could be harder than pvp.

But in general, pvp is harder due to you actually fighting something that thinks for itself and has better situational awareness.

Thing about Pvp is if you take it as your responsibility to secure certain objectives it's a lot longer fight then Vmol. in certain situations... If your just there to fight, die, & respawn it may not challenge/effect you wither your at a keep or Alliance gate...

When you get rushed by ads in sanctum the mobs are somewhat going to play fair. Gatekeeper isn't going to popcorn & ground bash at same time. If he were in cyrodiil, he just might try.

In PVE you can learn what an enemy will do and work out your best plan of attack. In PVP an enemy will adapt to what you do and be less predictable.

That clearly means PVP takes more skill imo.

So far pvp is winning hands down. While even the hardest trial is super difficult. If you stack the proper gear with proper class skills and learn the mechanics you will win. Also pve is all group play for dungeons and trials. Where pvp you can run solo. Yes you can run zergs that are mindless but a solo pvp player against the server is a monster in itself. Fighting for yourself. Not relying on help from other players.

I do both pvp and pve, and pve bosses are relatively predictable. Once you learn mechanics, when and where things spawn, and whatnot, pve becomes not that hard to do. Pvp, however, requires a lot more than just how much damage you can crap out per decond. Players are unpredictable, and with this, it's hard to know what to do. For example, Nightblade NPCs have repetative actions and indicators, while a player may pop out at any time, no indicators or warning. You can't have a tank aggro all the players while the DPS burns em down. A healer can't just stand there and heal/buff. Most PvPers avoid tanky people (except for building resources and ulti), and usually go straight for the healer.

I'd say to get to the top 1% of PVE players probably takes about the same amount of skill as it does to get to the top 1% of PVP players. Different skillsets for sure (I've seen some very good PVPers who can't do a vet dungeon to save their lives, and I've seen some very good PVEers who get absolutely wrecked in PVP), but at top levels I wouldn't say one requires more skill than the other.

This is an obvious one. A pvp'er can get good at pve in a day. A pve'er will have to get slaughtered for months before he is actualy good at pvp.

PvP simply due to not going against a mechanic that can eventually be learned and beat repeatedly due to a lack of variation, but PvE isn't easy by any means.

Would like to start with saying it is a really good question.

My vote goes for pvp players, even though I don't do much pvp myself, but have experience in other pvp games.
In pvp, you learn to have fast reaction time and have to be ready to use specific abilities in different situations.

In pve, people who claim they are top players, can't even learn to do mechanics, that are the same over and over again each time you play it.
