Its a stupid misconception.
It really isn't. Magdk is probably the best dueling class in the game. They just have too much crowd control and battle roar will pretty much give them a new fight every time they cast a ultimate. Plus all the dots they stack on you really start to add up and cost you resources to relieve the pressure. Magdk is definitely top tier in dueling, dks in general are top tier

Make your "dueling" mDK and go fight Kena or Leif. Guarantee you won't win.
Magicka DK has always seemed like one of the best, if not the best, dueling classes to me. Granted that could be because I play a ranged magblade so it is quite a tough match up for me with wings. But a magicka DK's CC capabilities combined with its pressure from DoTs and sets like skoria/grothdarr make them very tough in my opinion.
To get this back to the point of the thread, I am considering trying out crushing shock in place of funnel health next patch in part due it being unreflectable now. @NightbladeMechanics @thankyourat or anyone else think crushing shock may be viable over funnel for magblades next update? Or is the still substantially lower cost and HoT of funnel just too good to give up in your opinions?
Edit: I also think crushing shock has some interesting synergies with some mechanics due to it being 3 hits, e.g. Red Mountain.

I'd honestly love to see this work.

That red mountain build hits hard. The damage takes you by surprise, I came across a magblade in AD using this build it seems pretty solid

@NightbladeMechanics I have been wanting to try something involving crushing shock/flame reach/WoE (if it procs it?)/etc. + 5 red mountain for a while. Inspired from another player on xbox who has run RM on a magblade. Been thinking about something interesting to pair it with. Actually thought about using 5 piece torug's + infused destro staff with a flame damage glyph. Numbers would be low but seems like insane pressure (especially against vamps) from red mountain and flame damage glyph each proccing about every other weave. Light attack + crushing shock would be 40% chance alone for each weave to proc RM and cooldown on flame damage glyph would be less than 2 seconds (and it would 50% stronger). I would have to miss out on skoria with this setup though, may be better to just go with it. But I have also been wanting to try out the torug's + infused + flame damage glyph synergy for a while too lol

These "buffs" to magic nightblade , cloak getting repaired ... Not a buff , a fix . Path , the least used ability in PVP good only for tagging targets , a minor speed buff and mostly only good healing with a transmutation set is hardly note worthy .
I've heard a lot of talk about how good op is at Majic nightblade but have never seen video or ran into them in PVP . I would like to see op in PVP or duels showing off said skill . To this day I can count on one hand the great PVP Magblades and the reason they are great has more to do with access to top line gear more then anything . A couple of them are great even with subpar sets but they all have one thing in common . They work their butts off to master rotations and struggle at fights after the element of surprise is over . They have to be great escape artists .
So how about it op ? In my years of playing it's the hardest class to manage so will you show off your skill ?
