How about some changes to the entire stamina vs magicka?

From the end game trials perspective there is NO advantege on having a stamina character at all. Less buffs need casting, better sets for healers and offtanks to improve recovery, dps and survivability, every magicka person has acess to Harness Magicka, to protect themselves, they have the highest damaging ultimate in the game (Elemental Storm), they are getting extra buffs on staves too. On the other hand, stamina guys have nothing, they ahve lower dps, lower survivability (don't say bone shield, because it sucks and everyone knows it), not to say they all feel exactly the same!, rapid strikes meta's been here for far too long, orsinium is already 1 year and 3 months old, its time for balance changes come and allow for diferent build paths, vMA dagger and axe are pretty much mandatory for everyone, because they run a dot based build.

If magicka is to have such ultility and survivability with 100% of acess to their class kit (stamina toons have 3 class skills TOPS), at least make it so stamina is dealing more damage, i mean, somewhat of a 10%-20% more damage than magicka, so it comes down to high risk-high reward, instead of ultra risk-no reward.

Reguarding pvp, please, please, pleeeeeeeeease, just get rid of proc sets, taking the crits away won't do ANYTHING to it, you're just hurting pve even more. Give pve the turn of balance at least once. we all know stamina has a high burst, but if you FIX viper/tremor, and some heavy armor passives, pvp becomes skillfull again without hurting pve.

PVE NEEDS ATENTION, AND STAMINA USERS NEED LOVE, ORTHERWISE WE'RE ALL JUST BE RUNING WITH A DRESS AND A STICK SOON.

From what I was told and now see here, I am very positively surprised.
More communication with the playerbase, taking feedback seriously, giving us the reasons for most balance changes and making smaller tweaks instead of simply nerfing overperforming things into oblivion to be replaced by something new.
And although I can perfectly understand the frustration many players (including myself, actually) may still feel as the issues they are most passionate about still won't be addressed now, this change in policy is certainly most welcome.
In fact, I couldn't have hoped for anything more for the short time the update was available for testing now.
I only hope you will keep this policy up, so it can actually change this game's balance for the better.

Can you please put a developers comment on why rearming trap was nerfed from 12% crit dmg to 10%, and the dmg by 30%?

that one seemed pretty straight forward.. it was doing too much for a single skill.. even magika users we getting around 1.5k dps out of trap..

I think these patch notes are awesome with the Dev notes, really great to see things explained. LOVE to see more of.this.

Id love to hear the logic behind cutting the Ultimate pool in half, its a huge impact to a small number of niche Overload builds, that are quite invested in their builds. (Gold Kena / Elegance / Sharp weopons etc)

Also if you have the Destro in hand does the 8% apply when you switch to Overload or is the 8% solely on Destro skills?

Loving the push on Pets, for an Alt build, but why no targetting on Consoles? It really seems missing the more you push pets

FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS, BASE GAME PATCH

    Alliance War
    General
    • Increased the base amount of AP for capturing resources to 1,500 AP.
    • Increased the base amount of AP for capturing a keep to 6,000 AP.
    • Increased the base amount of AP for capturing a town to 1,500 AP.
    • Increased the base amount of AP for capturing an Imperial City District to 1,500 AP.

this doesn't work. while this is a nice idea and absolutely in balance for normal gameplay, it is extremely exploitable.

grab two groups of opposing faction that are large enough to quickly flip flags.
    take turns turning a resource
if you have a map for yourself, you could even do that with keeps.
flipping every 30sec should be reasonnable and that'd be ~180k AP/h which is VERY decent (actually great) even for the most successful groups if maintained over a long time. If you do that at night on a rather empty campaign, it's easily sustainable for the whole night....
Well, if it's a concern, this could be addressed fairly easily I would think - perhaps by tying the capture AP reward amount to the keep or resource "level" - For example, a Level 5 keep could be worth more than a Level 1 keep. The longer it sits, the more it's worth when it's flipped, maxing out after 30 mins.

I do like that the main campaign objectives (which benefit the whole faction) seem to be getting more love from ZOS. All the farming that's been going on lately is not great for the PVP aspect of game IMHO.

I read the first 6 pages so please excuse me if this has been addressed. The changes to Cyrodiil AP have the potential to either be the greatest thing imaginable or terribly exploitable depending on how they are implemented.

As someone who frequently solos resources and only gets 25 AP for it, getting 1500 AP is a boon for players like myself. My worry is that if there is not a cooldown of, say, 30 minutes on a single resource (or possibly longer) then there WILL be cross faction guilds exploiting this. Ideally what we should avoid is a case where one group can flip it and then advance on and the next group do the same right after to get max AP. If this is possible some resources will be a conga line of AP farming. If one person can only get AP from a single resource every 30 minutes this would be avoidable.

As for the solo player, which I'm thinking was the reason for this addition, it should work great. Even in ideal circumstances we're still looking at at least 10 minutes to flip all 3 resources.

Anyway, as long as there is a cooldown on a single resource I think this is a GREAT change for solo players who want to actively help their alliance by flipping resources.

A lot of great changes here! Thank you for jumping on Incap Strike and Tremorscale!

    But:
    Exploration & Itemization
[*]Armor of the Trainee: Reduced the Max Magicka, Stamina, and Health granted by this item set to 1250 from 2500.

IMO, this set needs a nerf about as much as tristat enchants do. You get more resources, but there's the drawback of of being spread out of the B&B resource and into the supplementary resource. The health bonus may have deserved to be cut in half, but the resource gain nerf will really hurt MagDKs. MagDK already feels very limited in the choices it has for pvp gear, and this change feels like the closing of another option.

Then the nerf to Vitality potions will hit Stamblades more heavily than anything else. Survivability is already tough, and this nerf will force us to lean way more heavily on cloak (which I currently don't slot because Vitality pots put us on par with the other classes healing potentials). The nerf also feels a little more difficult to swallow when Malubeth is still proc'ing constantly, and healing for way more than vitality/sustained health potions do.

@ZOS_RichLambert Also yeah uh the death stroke (incapacitating strike) needs to be at a minimum 100 for ultimate cost not 70. There still hasn't been a change in the fact that the 20% extra damage when using it also applies to proc sets not just nightblade abilities. If possible make it only apply to nightblade abilities and I'll be fine with the 70 cost for now at-least. You can just say well ok viper sting and selene or veli gets 20% extra damage if they so happen to proc during the 6 second buff duration.
There was no need for Training Armor nerf! It helps a lot in PVE tanking!

Incapstating strike is still OP, should have been nerf!

It's a single target attack on a class with little to no AoE where AoE is king 70 is too much. It's blockable and can be dodged now it's more expensive it hits one guy and can be countered with a block. Even if you take the hit blocking still saves you.

Extending my previous post about proc sets.
      Look at these:
      1. Tremorscale. When you taunt an enemy, you have a 50% chance to cause a duneripper to burst from the ground beneath them, dealing 6500 Physical Damage to all enemies within 4 meters and reducing their Movement Speed by 70% for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds.
      2. Viper's Sting. Your Melee Attacks deal 6720 Poison damage. This effect can occur once every 4 seconds. 100% chance.
You nerfed the first one for 10%, while it has lower damage and twice lower proc chance with the same cooldown. I don't mean that Tremorscale shouldn't be nerfed. Point is, everything else should be ajusted too. Don't you see how ridiculos it is?

The developer comments are a huge improvement, but please don't hide them in spoiler tags next time. I don't want to have to click every single one of them. :s

We figured this would be preferred so those who only want to see the changes can easily read them, but if you're interested in the reasoning, you can click to learn more. Not married to this formatting, though, and can consider doing it without the spoiler tags.

I think if you give them a different color and maybe make them italic that should make it easy enough for readers not interested in them to skip them. On the other hand I can't quickly skim through them without pressing the "show spoiler" button the way it is now.

if you know how to open the javascript console on your browser (usually by pressing F12 and looking for a "console" tab), open (or close) all spoiler tags at once by running:
      var list = document.getElementsByClassName('SpoilerToggle'); [].forEach.call(list, function(e) {e.click();});

(to be more precise: this should switch the state of each spoiler tag, as if you clicked on it)

      • Armor of the Trainee: Reduced the Max Magicka, Stamina, and Health granted by this item set to 1250 from 2500.
      Developer Comments
Armor of the Trainee was meant as an introductory set that required no advanced strategy to utilize. The attributes it was providing were too high as you could get the same amount of Stamina that Draugr Hulk’s 5-piece provided, as well as significant Magicka and Health bonuses. This set will now provide less Stamina than the Draugr Hulk 5-piece, but more overall stats.

PLAY THE WAY WE (ZOS) WANT

Give it a break already. That set is meant for a brand new player trying out their first dungeon, not a BIS end game PVP set.

It's not like we all don't have many other alternatives.

People are just frustratred that a set they golded out is becoming obsolete. Same thing every time a set is nerfed for the greater good. It's hilarious though to see them argue that it was part of some "unique" build. Nothing unique about flat increase in stats. It was simply overperforming hence why so many used it. Same with Black Rose who also got nerfed. I currently use a Black Rose set and I saw it coming a mile away. Either people lavk insight and objectivity or they are purposely derailing balance in this game to save some materials.

I'm a dual wield sorc. Want to buy some gold spinner swords? More than slightly used? Cost 700K new.

I understand gear becoming obsolete perfectly, which is why I'm saving up cash and farming BSW like everyone else.

I was quoting you because we agree.

Got to agree with this guy. It's exploitable, and 1500 is a TAD high for PvDooring a resource guarded by dumb mobs. 1000 tops I'd say?
