I'm going around all the furniture sources trying to find where everything comes from. So far, there's not much furniture on the merchants, so it looks like crafting is the main source of non-non-basic furniture.

where do crafters get the recipes for the furniture items?
Are they all individual random drops? Is it like how you find provision recipes, they are randomly scattered all over?
Yeah, they all seem to be random drops. Haven't played around enough to actually find any yet, as I did the same as Storme_87 and used the PTS template character which contained a bunch of furnishing plans in a container, just so I could get an idea of what was available. One thing I did find is that furnishings on vendors can't be crafted, and craftable furnishings aren't on vendors.where do crafters get the recipes for the furniture items?I'm going around all the furniture sources trying to find where everything comes from. All furnishings available for Crowns are bought from the Housing Editor rather than the Crown Store. The player houses are account-wide.I didn't see any Furnishing items on the crown store today. Maybe it is just me, but the homesteads are available to preview. I have no idea how much they cost because I got a bunch of deeds to all of the homesteads in Tamriel. They appeared to be account-wide because my low level character (with 1k gold to her name) got the same access to those houses as my lvl 50 character did. This might change in the future when the Homestead patch goes live to be character-specific homes or not. If they're account-wide, I bet they will cost a lot of crowns once they go on sale in the crown store.
The "60 Nickel Kuta Pie" has become infamous on the webs already.
Don't think this is a thing lots of people will craft this way.
You're not given anything, but there a a few (very few) that you can buy on some vendors.are our characters given any blueprints to start? or do we need to find random world drops before we can craft furniture?
Overall, probably if you want rare stuff fast prepare 400+ crowns per piece
Do you really think these prices will persists in live?Overall, probably if you want rare stuff fast prepare 400+ crowns per piece
I cannot imagine even ZOS trying to pawn 400 crown chairs to us. That means, what? A fancy table + 6 chairs will be 2800 crowns? They'd better tone down those prices if they want to sell them purple items.
As for the prices of decorating the house in gold, seeing as we might need to buy plans and some mats here and there, I think I might even consider getting the deco'd house to start with in crowns and use the saved up gold for interior and garden stuff. But that surely depends on the crown prices.
ok, so lets reap this.
- When the homestead goes live, our characters will not have any blueprints and wont able to craft any furniture items.
- Before we can craft a furniture item, such as a chair or bed, we will need to find the blueprint which is a random world drop, possibly only through stealing/looting, just like provisioning recipes.
if these are both true I'm not sure what to think about this. It could frustrate players who want to furnish their homes but cant because they have to find the blueprints first. But it could also create lots of trade opportunities to sell furniture to other players. And of course lots of opportunities for ZoS to make money from players buying from the cash shop who want things right away or don't want to farm world drops.

You can buy simple furniture from vendors, and it is going to be cheaper than to craft it.
But if you want something specific - yes, you need blueprints.
I've found some Crate Cards for a future Crown Crate season which have furnishings in them. Not sure which furnishings they are though.
(with hundreds of them, imagine the RNG, and I don't want any Argonian chairs in my Breton house)

if they are style specific do i still need to know the motif in order to make the item or is the blueprint by itself all i need?
and is the drop rate for specif ctyles more likley to drop in certain zones, ie. soul shriven in coldharbour?
