I had something like that after patching PTS (not sure if it was that one exactly, but is was definitely a Microsoft Visual C++ error), and I all had to do was close and restart the launcher.My PTS eso64.exe will not load with the following error:
@radicalb21 - take a look at this thread. Some people have had some luck with using template characters, creating new characters, or trying different copied characters:radicalb21 wrote: »I'm able to login to game and get to character select then click play and then the loading screen
This morning I repaired once again and it finally completed. Just logged in and everything seemed to work. Hopefully I won't have any more problems.I finally got it to install after having the "Reliable source" error numerous times. Now it crashes on startup showing me error 12. I also got the missing dll error at some point but it disappeared after a reboot
Well, I finally got back home and tried to launch the PTS on my tower. No problems here. On my Laptop it's still crashing...

Though about the same thing, if so, that would probably help in finding the error. Could you all please say if you are on tower or laptop?
I dont think so, I'm not using a laptop. Also tried to repair again today since that post from ravinya got my hopes up a little, but other than getting another full new download, nothing happened.
LaucianNailor wrote: »Playing on a Mac here. I have downloaded the client, launched and created a character with no problem (on EU so no character copy). Problem comes on logging in to the character.
The client just does a complete 'hard lock' forcing a hard reboot of the Mac to close the client down. The ESO crash catcher doesn't kick in and because of the hard lock, the apple crash catcher is not initialised either.
This is on a new clean install of the PTS with NO add-on's and default settings........Any suggestions?
@Larry78 do you usually play on the EU server? Only NA server characters are available on PTS right now; EU players must create template characters using the drop down list at the top-left of character creation.Hello folks :-)
Same issue here, after 30 minutes of playing..crash..it will be fixed, I hope so.
This is my first time on PTS, I want to try new features and there is another problem. I cant connect my character even i using same login info for PTS. There is only 1 option after login, create new character , level 0, etc..What I doing wrong or what's wrong? Thanks in advance
ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »So, I know this sounds like Troubleshooting 101, but can you all try rebooting your computer? There was a new distributable that got installed, and a reboot is necessary to make sure it works properly. This could be causing the error you all are getting.
@ZOS_GinaBruno Can you let us know which new distributable was installed, just in case we can do more troubleshooting on our ends, please?
My PTS eso64.exe is definitely asking for one of them.
I can't enter PTS too. After pressing play I get windows error about missing file api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll
I've solved my problem too. I found vcredist_x64_2015 file in launcher folder, run it as administrator and did repair. After that error disappear.
Two days ago I've tried to install microsoft visiual c++ from official microsoft siye, but it didn't help may be because I downloaded latest version, and not exact same version that came with eso launcher.
Thanks to @SpAEkus
@ZOS_GinaBruno
SOLVED for my PTS eso64.exe install at least. Note I am still launching directly from the .exe and not the launcher,
Okay on a hunch I checked my installed programs under Programs and Features (Win7Pro).
I found that I had both x86 and x64 of all the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for 2005 - 2013, but only the x86 for 2015. I installed the 2015 x64 and I have eso64.exe working on PTS. Maybe a chance for anyone else that checks and doesn't see both versions installed.
Here's my now updated list of redistributables.
@Zakor
Yes I see that vcredist_x64_2015 sitting in the launcher folder but for some reason it never actually got installed during patch.
