Velocious Curse (Daedric Curse morph):
Renamed this morph to Haunting Curse.
This morph no longer shortens the duration of the curse to 3.5 seconds from 6 seconds; instead, it causes the curse to echo and trigger one additional time 6 seconds after the first explosion.
Quick question about this change. Has anyone had a chance to check if you can stack a second curse on the first curses echo? Or will a second curse override the echo?

So that's basically a 50% nerf. If that doesn't get changed I won't be using it anymore.

Ok so it is a change to VC that lowers BURST (anybody like me remember seeing lotsa burst damage too high threads - well -here you go.)
the prior sorc-burst-trinity SBT of VC-wrath-frag just took a timing hit.
However, it is NOT a nerf to overall damage.
Even if we ignore the 8% damage buff from staff passives.
Prior to the change, over say 12ish seconds you clicked VC three times and got three hits.
Now you click once and get two hitsin roughly the same timeframe.
BUT... you have two more clicks to spend on other things than before and that means like say ohh.. two more force pulses or one more force pulse and a frag-proc-shot or frankly in 13s maybe just two more frag proc shots. heck it could be two deadric tombs.
So even straight up its not a 50% damage nerf, its just a transition to more overall damage cuz the damage per click for this one is now
Then on top of that add 85 to aoe or direct depending on staff.
it seems on a large scale they have listened in some ways to the complaints about:
the escalated burst damage "forcing hvy armor"
The hvy armor effectiveness "forcing burst attacks"
the DW giving broad damage buff for magica but not staves on top of the extra gear slot
burst trinity esp during lag
... and made a shift to deal with these to some degree in a broader sense with more sustain and less burst by trimming back a key burst here by shifting them to sustain dps and the base percent increase.
Not saying the new VC or HC is where it should be right out of the box but it will likely adapt some over the PTS...
i would like to see the following change to VC:
- Keep the new haunted Curse timeline hit at 6s and 12s.
- Remove the AOE altogether.
- Add a per second tick for DOt to the target in place of the AOE. Should add up to at least the original AOE but let PTS see.
this helps the overall damage to the single target.
this makes the morph a clear cut "single target" for the new staff passives.
this still deals with the burst issues.
this keeps a minimal pressure on.
NOTE: i doubt this would satisfy any who want to keep the trinity burst whammo but likely nothing short of "put it back" will.
But it seems more in tune with the new staff passives.

1. Passive from destro works just with destro staff skills.
2. Its a huge burst hit in PvP. In PvE its just a matter of new rotation. But in PvP mag sorc had just 3 class skills to deal damage (1 executioner included) + destro staff. Building burst on sorc is about perfect timing and speed. You cannot spam you enemy for death as mag sorc has no skills to do that. So in general now you have 1 chance per 6s to kill someone instead of 1 chance per 3.5s. Its a huuuuge nerf especialy when 1vX as mag sorc has worst AoE dps of all classes and the best way to fight 1vX was kill target after target while LoSing them... Try to do this now, when fighting 3 targets.

Sorc only has a small handful of abilities worth using in PvP and most ranged attacks besides Velocious Curse can be reflected by Dragonknight wings which with this nerf makes it even harder to combat them.
Go ahead and pull it off your bars... I don't see a reason to do so. It's still controllable burst on a timer. For me just means moving to back bar and using the GCDs I would have spent casting it for other abilities. Less frequent burst rotations but more frequent casts of pressure. I def don't see DW being optimal for this, especially with the reflect change on force pulse.
