I dunno, I'm pretty panicked that the OP doesn't know his verb tenses. (i.e. "ARE the glory days" vs. "Is the glory days").

Then again illiteracy always makes me worried.

Guess I'll just play the game and relax.

P.S. I was nice and didn't even touch the OP's second paragraph. Yikes.

Maybe english is not his native language but i am sure you never realize that possibility before you make a useless post about ARE or IS do you.

Your reply is the only YIKES in this thread so far. /ignored

Don't worry OP i think ESO has a while to go but nobody can predict the future either way it will be fine regardless.

So far ESO is best in offering unforgettable lore and huge content just for buying base game - just keep it that way and the game will never die. Just please offer more characters for base game, so we could check all available classes without respeccing, thus play more and more without boredom.

Personally, with the year we just had I believe ESO is just getting going.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

As far as Im concerned the glory days of PVP are gone. All we are left with is proc set gankers, eye of noob ball groups and maluplars/ jesus beam spammers.

My highlights now are catching a viper/veli ganker with my block up and my Blessed set procs, bursting him down without proc sets with my 5 second immunity. Most times it doesn't work and I block and get hit with a resource drain poison and die from the incoming/unblockable viper/veli proc.

PvE wise ESO still has some glory left in the tank. As people have been saying the PvE side of ESO has grown by huge leaps in bounds. Causal play is at a all time high leaving players to be able to truly play on there terms. PvE of ESO is good and still rising every quarter.

PvP wise.... ESO glory has long been on empty. Between the huge nerfs to magicka. The huge continual buffs to stamina based play styles. ZOS full commitment on having Proc Sets outperform most abilities and tactics in PvP. ESO is just another of those MMOs where PvP has been left behind, and is now even borderline not even worth many players time. The glory days for PvP in ESO are long past us, and ZOS is not even giving us a slimmer of hope or a light in the darkness for the PvP side of ESO.

But fear not. Ever since the MMO genre as a whole has given up on making decent PvP in there games. MOBAs have sprung up and has completely dominated the PvP scene of gaming sense. Look at Smite hell even look at the new one that hasn't even released yet, Paragon. This in turn makes the future of PvP in any MMO, current or future MMOs completely grim at best.

All of this being say ESO has a bright future ahead. As long as it does not fall into the same trap as many others in the past. By making the game P2W and not releasing meaningful content to keep it's fans and causals happy for a while. Tho I will say the RNG in ESO does really needs to change in my honest opinion. As a players from one of those hardcore Raiding guilds that disbanded a while ago. There is no lure for me to bust my head and complete the hardest content in the game just to get a %0.0001 of getting the item that want after 30 or more completes.

Yes ESO is over get out now while you can. I have seen hundreds of new players in recent weeks. It's so over leave now. Places that used to be empty are packed with players nowadays. No one plays this game. Chat in zone lights up all the time, with all kind of topics and sellers. No one still plays. ESO is alive and growing. ESO is dead no one plays it.

1T and housing is huge long term investment in casual oriented MMO with great potential. IMHO, pretty much all will depend on what playable content will be out in Q2. If it will be something at least comparable with Orsinium plus something for long meaningful farm (crafting overhaul, reputations, achievments with great cosmetics as reward - anything, pretty much) - game will go forward pretty good. If not - all potential will be lost.

People have been saying that ESO is doomed on these forums since before the open beta, literally. Too many MMO elements not enough RP. Too much story not enough endgame. Too much of this, not enough of that etc etc.

It was the same back when we were beta testing Ultima Online too. And for every game I've seen since. Shrug.

ESO has its issues, sure thing. I'm not wild about crown crates, as it shifts the burden of supporting the game not just to folks lucky enough to have a healthy disposable income (I count myself amongst that group, 41, 20 years into a career, no kids, no boat or RV) but folks who have something approaching a gambling issue - and thats just not cool.

I could list a lot of things that I don't dig.

But at the end of the day the game is solid. The setting is solid. The lore is done admirably well. It is a pretty game. It was built from day 1 with consoles in mind and it plays well there...and upgrades with platform generations. Thats a big deal, and may become more so as time goes on...it certainly will retain a playerbase therej for a good stretch I betcha.

Plus it has huge expandability re: new zones, content, etc.

1T was done very well and is a truly fresh take. That alone should give a good feeling that some brains are in that office and confidence its a place worth putting your feet up a while, in my opinion. Take the good, gripe (within reason) about the bad...but just keep the hyperbole to a minimum ;)

This exact post appears every 2-3 weeks but it was delayed this time to about a month and a half.

See you again in about 2-3 weeks, after the patch notes come out, after the update itself and again 2-3 after the update.

So are you suggesting that 1860's Alabama was not part of the US and therefore had no opinion. So forum users are not part of the ESO gaming community and have no opinion. Or did you make a poor analogy?

Auricle has is right - just enjoy playing the actual game (which has improved wonderfully) rather than reading whinging posts on this forum from people unable to understand that this game is never going to be everything they want as it's not just about them.....

I've been out of town a couple weeks, so my only internet is my phone, sooo a lot more phone reading, ya, sometimes people seem to constantly bash the game and make it sound like the end of the world, I began to think,

If these 300 pound nerd guys think it's ESO Y2K....Than maybe this game is in trouble?

But great to hear so many good opinions, that's what I thought, great to have a positive read

in my experience, most of the time the "glory days" of anything correlate more with "ambiguous nostalgia for when I was unaware my environment wasn't there to flatter me" than "an actual time when things were better for everyone."

this holds true for your grandpa's confusion about the 1960s as much as it does for dissatisfaction about the state of a MMORPG.

A better question is did they ever exist, ESO started with a huge fan base, should have been akin to say UO from the good old days, did they ever capture the base they could have, with a robust game and state of the art improvements on existing games in the market?

The first year and change of this game was awful. Hands down awful. The vet system sucked, Craglorn sucked, there was no new content forever because they only cared about rushing console releases. (Which also sucked) Then, they started to release good content, which culminated with 1T and the biggest influx of new players since launch.

No, I don't think this game is waning. if anything, it's getting better with every update.

I find this kind of post really counterproductive, especially when the previous post in the forum is about the same topic:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/310839/is-zos-dropping-the-ball-on-new-content#latest

my answer is to that is:

    - in 2 YEARS of TESO (i play since the beta) i never saw so much newplayers and players connected, even during night hours - no its not because of holidays - actually, it is since TESO made its apparition on STEAM and did the "One tamriel" thing which basically break down the barriers of faction (they should have done it since the start).

    - new things are coming out and I m sure that ZOS will come up with some new contents, as suggest some video on youtube obtained with datamining -see my reply to the link above)

    - hopefully previous dlc will come cheaper so more people play them. You see, I still have not entirely finished the game after 2 years, so, I m not complaining.

game has been out just short of 3 years. The glory days of ESO being a MMO are gone. it will be a Online RPG built for the churn player base and cosmetic player.

I think solo to small group PVE is getting better all the time.

PvP has been bleeding for a long time. From launch there was lack of recognition with no name tags, then lag, then CP, now proc set hell so it is down. Thing is, they have until another good RvRvR siege game comes out that isn't a Korean grinder. Actually; even some of those have stolen a few people.

I have no idea when it comes to hard core pve

small group PVE is horrendous now. its all DPS centric and actually makes it harder trying to play it as a tradtional style group. its more GW2 now then it ever was.
