It should be expensive, the game really needs a golddrain.

I'd be much more likely to quit over them making too many items exclusive to clown crates. I'd also be much more likely to quit over their excessive bending over backwards to please hyper-competitive sociopaths at the expense of their primary demographics (suicide, really). I'm seeing both of those things already, so... I'm just losing a lot of love for the game. I'm giving it a break for now while I play Sun & Moon with my partner. I'm letting my subscription lapse and I'm not buying anything else on the crown store.

I'm not 'leaving.' I mean, my account's always going to be there. And I still have a lot of love for what ESO could be -- more similar to what it once was -- so I'm going to keep an eye on things and I'm going to do my best to keep things 'real' with a loud and clear signal about what's killed so many other games I used to love. Hopefully ESO will be the one to turn it around.

I doubt it. I hoped that for a long time with so many others. So I really doubt it.

But who knows? Always a chance, right?

Housing isn't what ESO is all about. It's just an awesome addition to the game. But I won't quit if housing is too expensive...in all honesty, everyone can afford the "expensive" houses, they just have to work for it. Which makes the experience worth it! Work for what you get. Can't complain much when gold is free to get.

I definitely wouldn't quit if they end up being too expensive, whatever that means. There's people out there with 100 million gold and more. So who knows what the actual prices will be if ZOS judges it by average pockets.
I am really looking forward to housing though, and would really enjoy decorating and customising whichever house I choose to have as my main one

Also, as a side note, I don't think the houses will be too expensive. As in, I think most players will be able to afford the small and medium ones, and many will be able to get the big ones.

Why? Because of what happened with the monster set vendor.

Before it was released, people were speculating that the pieces would cost millions. The polls made for people to guess the price hardly ever had an option that was less than 500k a piece. When the vendor hit the PTS, people were absolutely baffled by the comparatively low prices.

I think the average quantity of gold per player is considerably lower than most of us think. Probably because many people who are active in the forums are also active players and have much more gold than the average player.

HOWEVER...

This guess isn't taking into consideration the possible shift in the company's philosophy. It is quite possible that they will put ridiculously high price tags on the houses for gold to make people want to spend Crowns on them instead of gold. Because, unlike with the monster sets, paying Crowns is an alternative.

If you are on PC and have spare HD space, I suggest downloading the PTS and giving feedback. They do not have a good track record when making changes based on PTS feedback is concerned, but it doesn't hurt to try.

All houses that are available for gold (there are what, 40 of them or so?) will also be available for Crowns, fully furnished.

Some houses will only be available through Crowns.

You can get a room in an inn for free by doing a quest. The room can be decorated like any house.

I got plenty of money saved up in game to buy what I want and a nice gold sink like this is nice to have in the game, gives people a push to do some stuff to further the economy by selling and buying more things. And I think even if they cost a lot more will not leave the game cause of that. If housing is that important to you then just grind some gold and earn it, the satisfaction you will get after buying it will be all that much greater.

I hope everyone can get a nice home they like, but I will personally be spending my millions on a nice manse to chill in. My toons worked their buts off in this game - a great place to relax is well deserved for them. I won't be laughing at people who can't afford it but I'll be laughing at the ones who thought I was crazy for having so many merchants and really getting into the money making aspect of this game.

Housing would be my end game. If I can't afford the houses I'll just start making some more gold. Simple as that
