So, here we vote. Do you want proc sets crit to be nerfed/removed?

I voted no because it took me much longer than I am willing to admit to solo farm Fungal Grotto to get my sharpened viper sword.

The problem isn't just proc sets. The rapid power creep for pve has ultimately damaged pvp. If they would have made the pve dungeons harder without just upping hp and one hit mechanics, maybe we wouldn't have gotten this far.

I think that the only way to fix the game now, is to completely rebuild the combat system. Remove proc sets, reinstate soft caps, remove aoe caps.

But, I think that zos doesn't have the resources anymore to fix the problems. They are just strining us along till we figure it out. For 2 years they've said they would fix the lag in pvp. Still not done.

You've no idea what your talking about.

Only portion of PVE I can see is the CP system. Otherwise, your going to have to explain what part of PVE is effecting PVP.

I don't have the cash/upgrade Mats to fully redesign/respec a character that I've spent two years building up and fawning over. If ZOS kills this build... I really don't know what I'll do.

Neither of us can afford a complete (or even a partial) respec of either of our characters, and definitely we cannot afford to respec BOTH of our Main's.

What...? If you do Fighter's Guild daily, the solo Undaunted daily and one or two dungeons and sell all the loot, you'll have around 7-10K. If you have IC you can kill mobs and not only get gold/loot, but also tel var stones that you can buy stuff for and sell in Guild Shops or Zone chat.

    200 mats cost 3-4 K.

It would take you less than a week of extremely casual play to fund respecs and new crafted gear.

I think that voting on this is kinda pointless. All it does is fire up the forum community and changes nothing.

A vote AFTER they announce a change from a group that is not involved in the decision making in any way (please do not try and tell me that they listen to the forum polls) seems about as effective as trying to eat soup with chopsticks.

All these polls do is give the social media team at ZoS a bit of daily amusement.

Not Rubedite/Rubedo/Ancestor Silk. I'm talking about the Upgrade Mats. Tempering Alloy and such.

I and my wife have all our gear at Gold, and with the rate of getting Gold Mats on refining, just getting our gear to Gold for two characters has tapped out our stock of them. The cost in Gold to get enough Gold Mats is prohibitive.

I've got Rubedite/Rubedo/Ancestor Silk/Ruby Ash coming out of my ears. Gold Upgrade Mats from refining? Not so much.

And on a further note: My wife and I are (apparently) not the A-typical players that you seem to think exclusively populates this game. We don't PvP. We don't run Trials or Group Dungeons. We definitely don't do any Undaunted. We don't run the Maelstrom Arena nor do we go to the Dragonstar Arena.

We Quest and explore, and it's usually just the two of us as we're rarely able to team up with our friends in this game, but that's where we find our enjoyment, RP and just exploring the vastness of the world.

So our options for selling items is slim.

And no, any argument you make about us "limiting" ourselves just won't hold water in this case. Most people aren't continuously running Trials/VMA/etc. and holding large amounts of equipment that they will never use so they can sell it off as Gold-fodder. More people than you think play the game similar to my wife and I, and any changes that "kill" builds like our are extraordinarily difficult to recoup from. We play the game to relax, to escape from the "real world" for a bit.

We don't play it as a second job where being at the top of the mountain and having a small dragon's-horde of excess monster-set loot to sell is an every-day occurrence.

Resetting a character completely just because Wrobel gets a hair up his ass and destroys a build just isn't a feasible option for many people.

I'm in the same place play-wise as you, but think of it like this:

If what you do is mainly casual duo exploring and RP, do you REALLY need to respec and re-outfit your characters completely? I have found that in just questing, overland encounters, and general running around, it can be done on ANY type of build and with ANY type of gear. I rarely find anything challenging enough to warrant a full respec or change of gear.

I don't think you will have ANY trouble at all after the update and if you want to re-gear, just go purple until you have enough gold materials. I doubt you will even see a ripple in the pond...

To be honest, none of our Julianos/Seducer Mag builds are subject to anything in the "sneak peek". Me using my Jabs for damage/self-healing, and my wife using her beasties for intercept/healing and Destro Staff attacks are also not on the chopping block.

    But the threat is there.

And most every MMO is populated by casual players by a vast majority. Having people who are all about running the absolute-top-level-end-game activities telling us "it's so easy to sell off monster sets from top-level-end-game activities for quick cash" doesn't help any, and only further highlights the disconnect between end-game-level players (the minority) and the Casual player (the vast majority).

For people like my wife and I, and yourself, having a build (or even the threat of having a build) nerfed to non-efficacy is pretty difficult to spring back from.

While I agree with you that we would very probably be fine with just making new purple gear, it's the principle of the thing. It's not as easy for casual players to respec and re-gear characters as end-game players make it out to be.

Well that's fair enough, it's true that it's a pain to upgrade to Legendary.

I just upgrade my weapons and leave the rest purple. Never had a full Legendary set, and it hasn't really held me back at all in anything I have done so far (which is everything except Trials).

true. respecs don't cost much (50g per sp I think) but crafting a 160 set to purple is a big deal for some. I think ruby mats are about 25g each and you need 700+. All the tanins needed adds another chunk.
However, the point to OP is the same... start farming and saving mats now. Get ready now. If you know a cliff is ahead and do nothing about it..?

don't they have MOBAs for that

I keep wishing they would do a MOBA with the scale of PvP as Cyrodiil. Actually; doesn't even have to be a MOBA. They could allow customization and everything, I just want the large scale and it to work right like it did when we were all new near launch or beta without all the spamming lag.
