right now, under current circumstances and build[s'] in PvP, removing the "crit" will not make any difference.
IF However there is something in the next patch that makes it matter" then YES im all for it, because we have no idea what is in the next patch then i right now under current circumstances must admit that in PvP removing or adding crit does nothing because we have the trait "impen" on our armor that makes crit mean almost nothing.

I couldn't care less since I don't use proc sets. From what I hear though, they seem to be pretty overpowered and probably in need of a nerf.

I'm just going to stick this one out here. I don't mean all proc sets. But, the vast majority are boring to play. I would much rather see sets that modify how you build your character, or open up new options, than ones that simply have a chance to vomit poison all over your opponents.

Nerf it , remove it , whatever . If I never seen another proc suit I would not cry . I think they are all a gear stacking gimmick to remove skill from the game anyways . I would be fine with no sets at all , just armor with base stat bonuses . All of these things just lead to crafters becoming obsolete and power creep . Just my opinion again .

Something needs to be done about the whole proc set meta. They are a bit boring to play, they don't require skill. Idk, if something replaces them it better be thought out well.

I picked the don't care because my answer isn't a hard yes or no

As listed with no other changes? Meh, I don't think it really does a whole lot to address the issue of pve power creep and pvp insane TTK

With other balancing changes coming in U13? Until we know what they are I can't accurately say what I think.

Nerfing for a greater balance is good and should happen.
Nerfing for the sake of nerfing with no other balance changes to coincide with it should not.

Sets can be interesting. As in really interesting for builds. As examples, here are two set bonuses from games that are not ESO. The Division has a riot shield active ability. Normally you can only use your pistol while you have it active. But, the Frontline set allows you to use an SMG while you have your shield out instead. Grim Dawn has a set that allows you to dual wield pistols (normally this isn't possible).

You know what's interesting? TBS. Stuff like that. A set that let you slot a 1h melee weapon on hand, and a staff off hand, and gave you access sword and board along with the relevant staff skills?

How about a set that, when complete, causes your heavy armor to count as medium armor for passives (excluding ones that require 5 pieces of medium equipped)?

Conceptually, I'm rather fond of Vampire Lord. I don't think there's a real role for it, but the boost to Vampires is kinda cool. Similarly, Salvation is kinda interesting now. Very narrow use, but, hey, it helps werewolves.

It's going to make a host of sets unviable/less viable in PvE while only patching an issue we're having in PvP.

The sensible approach? Insane, I know but...
Nerf the sets that are wholly overperforming directly (illambris, grothdar, etc.) with some tweaks. This levels the playing field for monster helms/other sets in PvE. I'm going to need some obscene differences in performance between proc sets and flat/stat sets to convince me that removing their ability to crit is the right path. PvE dps revolved heavily around crits ZOS, fix that and then I can see it.

Add a global cooldown to set procs for Battle Spirit. Doesn't even have to be super long, maybe 2 or 3 seconds between procs. Or even cooldown after two occur within a timeframe, or add the crit nerf here, or something to that battlespirit buff that y'all at ZOS have to balance PvP specifically.

If you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].

Procc sets dont belong in pvp, in any shape or form. Pvp is supposed to be skillful, you practice your rotation and use your build/skills to combat other players, atm its RNG and your armor getting the kills, wtf kinda pvp is that... @ZOS_RichLambert

What's the point of the poll?

The forum users are a limited demography, moreover some people will be more inclined to participate in a poll than others due to the level they are invested in the question.

It will - at best - provide you with a skewed image, which is a poor starting point for any sort of enlightened debate on the subject.

      (repost from locked thread)

It's a good step, because now they can balance from the bonus itself, not the crit. So strong sets can stay strong and weaker sets can be bumped up a few percent without amplifying their criticals.

And now they're in a good position to dump prosperous and replace it with a trait that increases set bonus values without those values ballooning from criticals on top of the bonus's bonus.

They need to be nerfed. But not like this.

They need to nerf the base damage of the proc sets that are overperforming. Not nerf all of them, half of the sets getting nerfed already see no use
