Random: Are you Vampire?
Me: No
Random: Can you craft me a Vampire set?
Me: Wait, what? What is a Vampire set?
Random: I need the set that makes you into a vampire.
Me: That's not how it works.
Random: Can you make me a Vampire set or not?
Me: Do you have mats?
Random: I have some Spider eggs.
Me: Great, I have some Flour. Maybe we can make some Vampire cookies. Seriously, what the hell are you talking about?
Random: Hold on, my mom is yelling at me.
Me: Not sure I blame her.
Random: What?
Me: Nothing. Alright, you take it easy
Random: Wait, are you going to make the set?
Me: What, for free?
Random: Yeah. Cmon, man. Don't be a ****. I don't have any gold.
Me: Fine. Gimme a sec.
(3 minutes later)
Me: Accept the trade. It's free.
Random: Okay. So how does this work?...Wait, this is light armor. I use heavy armor.
Me: Look, to be a Vampire you have to wear 7 pieces Soul Shriven light armor. That's what I gave you.
Random: So how does it work?
Me: You need to kill at least one guard to start the Vampire quest.
Random: Okay, cool. Thx.
Me: Have fun.
Yep, so many people have no respect for crafter's time. Some things I've gotten:bottleofsyrup wrote: »You are a hero for still crafting for people.
I gave up on that a year ago. I still craft for friends but that's it.
What annoys me the most is when people expect me to drop anything I'm doing to go craft their stuff. It might come as a surprise but crafters are people too, and their play time is not less important than the client's.
This would drive me nuts too. They'd even ask while I was in a trial...

Someone gets on zone chat tonight and offers 50k for 2 NMG epic daggers. Of course as a crafter I try to pick up any work to make gold. I ask him if he has a crafter..."lolwut?" is his response and then proceeds to call me a scammer and untrustworthy because he found someone to do it cheaper and was baiting chat to see who would scam him. This, added to endless incompetence from people who can't give details on what they want, are the reason I stopped crafting before for other people.

It is not a scam if both sides get to an agreement about a price. You have not violated the TOS in anyway, there is no rule about the prices for services players can provide. That is why I offered to sell bethnik twice spiked ale that I crafted myself for 600 000 gold per drink in zone chat. PPl loled on that but it is no scam. It is my right to sell stuff that I created for a price I see fit, and it is their right not to buy if they find it too expensive. On the other hand I sold maybe 12 recipes for that drink for 200 gold each so far. Again, as a seller, it is my right to set price as high or low as I like. And they did, hence so many sales.
Have I exploited something? Cheated someone?
And if someone would want NMG stuff for 50k, I would be an absolute madman to pass that deal. Golden rings will not buy themselves, lol.

Then I grabbed my necktie and threw it into the AC duct fan with me still attached....even that didn't work.

You'd then have to option either ignore the conversation you just had or go on for next 30 min inquiring about their calls and race and then another 30 teaching them about game because that person started playing less than 2 weeks.
this is getting out of hand...
What exactly is the problem here? A newbie asking questions?
I don't believe chasing away new players is going to be a sustainable solution.

Or just crazy. This reminds me one time I was playing swtor and this guy randomly whispers me and saids hey I got this new gear, and he was next to me by an npc, and I said ok cool? And he got said in all caps your a selfish a hole and on and on about how I should jump for joy for someone I do not know lol, the dude went completely psycho. Anyways I ended up putting him on ignore. I was actually really shocked since I have played many mmorpgs and thought I have seen it all. Apparently not hahaha.
And do not get me wrong I congrats people all the time in zone chats, but it just caught me off guard he whispered it and the way he typed it.

One of the main reasons I don't craft for anybody anymore.
