✭All MMO forums consist of whining. Thats what game forums tend to be used for. But it doesn't necessarily mean that most people don't like or aren't enjoying the game. I'm sure there are tons of people that play that don't even bother visiting the forums. They log on, get a couple of hours of enjoyment, log off, then go about their lives.
Fewer than 2% of the players of online games post in game forums, @BKTHNDR, you're right. And many of them spend more time in the forums than the game because forums, for MMO style online games, have become the defacto Elder's Game given the genre moved away from player lifecycles that included an actual Elder's Game by design.
It's the other Elder's Game that interests me: the growing proliferation of YouTube content is one of the things that keeps me playing. It has moved beyond build videos and quest spoiler videos to amusing comentary and enticing action.
Much of the commentary is amusing is ways it does not intend. One young guy reminds me of my Jewish grandfather - an old Jew in a young man's body - with is 50 minute k'vetching videos. He just sits there for almost an hour complaining, and complaining. I can't stop laughing. Oddly I feel like playing even more after his long oy vey rants.
Then there's the guy - he must be from Texas - with the buzz cut who never seems to get any sleep, who has everything hitting like a truck. The Belgian woman who seems sweet, the phony tough hipster, the analytical German tanking guru, the kid who yells at his wingman who's in the room with him when he streams...all sorts of characters.
But they make the game seem interesting in ways I've failed to see. So...back in I go

* lack of transmog is a huge detriment to multiple systems within the game (crafting, motifs, drop set satisfaction, etc)
** uncalibrated proc sets do way too much damage, making them defacto build requirements (these damage values should be 10-15% maximum dps, tops)

✭It is an Elder Scrolls game. I have always been a huge fan of the lore, and I thought it would be cool to experience it with other people. It saddens me that ZO$ is milking this game dry, but hopefully we can be heard so that the game can go back onto its proper course. If not, I will begin to explore other options, or just go back to Morrowind. Another reason is that I have already invested so much into the game. I have spent countless hours Rping, PvEing, questing, and just having fun. I also invested in the crown store before it became the cesspool that it now is. I continue to hope that ZO$ will turn this game around like they did with Tamriel Unlimited. Maybe I am naïve, maybe this game will end up like most other MMO's. I still, however, cling onto that sliver of good, that small bit of hope I have left for this game. Please, ZO$. 2) Active combat system (blocking, roll dodging, CC, break-free, sprint, jump, ect. We're moving away from this with Proc sets and % chance for effect crap, but I'm hoping ESO will move toward a more skill-based combat vein with the next few updates).

✭✭✭1) I've spent a long time customizing and developing my characters. A process I am no where near finished with on any of them.
2) It's an Elder Scrolls game, and I love the quests, lore, ect.
3) PvP is still fun for me in small doses. Been getting my fix on BwB. Good way to unwind when I'm too tired to grind set pieces or spend hours getting into a quest's story.Main: Drio Azul ~ DC, Redguard, Healer/Magicka Templar ~ NA-PC

I like the variety between easy kills and hard kills throughout the game
I like the scenery, diversity, and scale of the land and NPC

vanillexhope✭✭✭I played late beta and early release but quit for a very long time. I've been MMO hopping for the past month, can't settle down anywhere. Then I heard housing would be coming to ESO.

God help me when the crown store sells housing stuff. I might need a second job.
That aside, ESO is one of the best MMOs I've ever played. It has it's quirks, but I really do love it. Right now, I'm taking a more solo, pve approach -- enjoying the quests, exploration, and achievements. I just left WoW which demanded way too much of my time (as a raider). I enjoy being able to turn ESO on when I want, for however long I want. And not worry that if I miss a day of playing, I'm seriously gimping myself and my raid.0 -
mwsacto_ESO✭✭I came back with a friend after 16 months. Trying out one tameriel and The new dlc area. The crates don't bother me since I had over 10000 from prior subscriptions. I got a few neat mounts and items. Trying out a magic based nightblade. Overall enjoying things so far. I'm also reading how to spec my stam dk and magic Templar. Lol0

Potenza✭✭✭✭✭I keep trying other games but nothing else really compares. Nothing has the depth this game has. All mmo games have most of the same issues and problems associated with them - and believe it or not - ZoS really does make improvement changes in every update they put out. It may not be the one your looking for at the moment but they will get to it. In pvp they stopped the wall scaling, the tower farming and have also given us skills to bust up zergs and more. We asked for something more to do in Imperial City and they gave us the flags. PvE they have done a ton of things - we are getting the housing we have been asking for, they got rid of the bots that were in every delve auto killing the bosses, they got rid of the gold sellers that were spamming in zone chat and sending spam in game mails, etc ...etc. I don't think I can list all the improvements they continue to work on. They are dedicated to the game and this is the reason I stay. So on another note I think supporting them by subbing or buying crowns is very important to do to ensure the longevity of the game.
