It gives me everything LotRO gave me and much more:

    - a coherent and homogenous world with own history, lore and well known places from the Elder Scrolls sequels, which generates an awesome atmosphere
    - for MMO standards impressive visuals and dungeon designs and pretty well made audio and quest scoring
    - imho a very well made and almost revolutionary combat system, where not just gear rules, but also personal agility and most important knowledge about game mechanics to use them creatively and effectively
    - character evolution system by CPs (it's similar to the Alternate Advancement System in EQ, but much more flexible)
    - due to intelligent healing and 3rd person view playing a healer is not a major pain as in other MMOs anymore
    - crafting system and its effectivenes
    - group content which ranges from laughable (normal) over easy (normal vet) to very hard (vet MoL, hardmode trials)
    - actually a lot of content, because 4 DLCs/patches a year
    - achievements, achievements, achievements (as the Deed System in LotRO)

All this points let me forgive even the major mess about long loading screens and performance drops after IC. Actually the issues are even solved for me now.

As you realize I do not care for PvP at all. If I would be a PvPer my summary would look different mayby, but at moment I just don't care for your salty tears and I love my Grothdarr in PvE.

I left the game 2 times during the 2.5 years because of you know, problems (no new contents or too slow etc.) , but now it seems fairly fast. I could wear it if it makes it faster :)

Before One Tamriel, I decided again left the game, I went back to GW2 to see what has changed before release, but now I am here again, uninstalled all other games :) This is my game, the best.

I knew it since 2013, when I saw the first gameplay video from QuakeCon.Matt Frior and Paul Sage, 2 likable veteran, of whom you believe that know their stuff.

Unfortunately, the game is no longer a monthly fee, but if it needs to continue to live in such a great game, so be it.

I came because I love the Elder Scrolls games. I've stayed because it's an Elder Scrolls game.

ZOS get a lot of hate on here from a lot of people but as far as I can see they're genuinely trying to give us, the players, what we want. TG and DB are here because we wanted them. Housing is coming next year because we wanted it, as well as rebalancing which people have been crying out for. Honestly, I can see a lot of good in what they bring to the game.

Don't get me wrong, there are problems too. There are definitely things that need fixing. I didn't get why people were always complaining about PVP until a couple of weeks ago when I played in the evening. I'd been playing during the day before and it'd always gone smoothly. Now I get it!

But I do think they're trying. And I'm not against them making money while they do it. Yes the crown store is expensive and I'm disappointed that the couple of things I've been waiting for are crate exclusives so I'll probably never have them, but it could've been much worse

I am in an awesome friendly guild which is great to do both PvE and PvP. They don't make it a DPS race 95% of the time and play for fun.

Also I always have hope PvP will be totally fixed someday so I can enjoy castle sieges once more. But I must say I always play PVP because even now I find it fun to do.

ESO in not my main game I play and for castle sieges I look forward to Bannerlord. But upcoming playerhousing and hopefully Vvardenfell, clockwork city etc keeps me interested.

The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I'm still here because of the roleplaying community and my amazing guild. In other words, I'm here because of other players, not because of ZOS who seems to be quickly turning this game into just another wallet grab with no integrity nor concern for their customers. The addition of crown crates has really turned me against this company. Even moreso than their lack of response to the various issues that matter to me over the years I've now been here.

The game is still the most beautiful one on the market (though that may soon be changing with the coming of Conan Exiles which already looks as if it will have a far superior character creation system. And for those of you interested in roleplaying in RE Howard's universe, please feel free to join us here: Conan Exiles RP. They are finally doing player housing. They've made some aesthetics changes like the ability to change hairstyles and jewelry which are very welcome. The DLC zones are exceptionally beautiful. As far as I'm concerned, that's what the game has going for it now... which is pretty much nothing in terms of actual gameplay.

So yeah... I'm here because of other players I enjoy spending time with and because there is not yet a better looking game on the market.

I really like the combat system. no game is remotely as fun as good 2v2 fights or something like 2/3 v X and maybe even duels.
Naturally I'd cry easily about some balance issues that threaten to take that fun away from me. Tbh I enjoyed the gaem MUCH more during SotH because now the playstyle I love isn't rewarding anymore: If I can just YOLO bomb + respawn on a populated campaign for 80-100k/h, playing for real doesn't seem to be rewarding anymore in comparison.

That said, I STILL love actual combat and ofc I'll stick around (hoping for better times where I spend more time doing the things I love)

I'm not interested in any sort of PvP. So, I can easily ignore all of this meta-proc whining.
I have not completed all PvE achivements on my main character yet.
I have not reached 50 lvl with my 11 alts yet.
I have not tried any trials yet. I have not completed vMA.
I'm waiting for housing. I'm waiting for Vvardenfell. I'm waiting for further PvE story content.
And yes, I like this game. And yes, I want +4 more character slots. And weapon dyes.

I agree. That said, I do wish they could have made it a little more like the TES single player games, and less like a standard MMO. I think I get that they were trying to strike a balance, though.

For how crafting is actually done, I am particularly liking the Alchemy and Enchanting skills, somewhat with Provisioning. The first two, I feel like I am doing more than just selecting the outcome and pressing Create. For Provisioning, the number of different and interesting recipes that use different ingredients, even if they have the same benefits. It keeps me from thinking it is too cookie cutter. For blacksmith, clothing, and woodworking, my thought is that they should bring elements of the other three into the mix, but I do like the stacked assembly of parts in order to make exactly what is wanted.

For what they did to crafting, particularly in One Tamriel, well, not a high point in the game.

    • It's TES, and this game lets me explore places in Tamriel no other game has, like Valenwood and the edge of Black Marsh.
    • Some of the characters really are wonderful. Razum-dar will never not make me smile.
    • Designated PvP and PvE zones means I can stay a PvE carebear most of the time and only venture into PvP once a year when I'm feeling adventurous.
    • It is genuinely a very solid MMO. It has a bunch of features that other MMOs I've played lack, like free armor dying, a criminal justice system, rewards for exploring like EXP and Skyshards, daily repeatables outside PvP and dungeon running... Even without the TES factor, this is a really good MMO.
    • More and more with each update, I feel like I can do what I want. I recently leveled my assassin character from early 49 to 50 doing nothing but Elam Dral's DB quests over and over again, because that's what I wanted to do with my time on that character. And I could, and it was great!
    • The Crafting Bag. Showing my Sub-Privilege, I know, but this feature has seriously made inventory management so much simpler than any other MMO, despite the game's robust crafting system. It has all the mat and ingredient complexity you expect from a TES game, with much less sorting your inventory into crates near the closest crafting station. XD
    • Got my sister hooked. Now I have someone to play with. ;)
    • In-game lore books! (Such I nerd, I know, playing a game to read).
    • The Criminal Justice System! It's so very TES to be able to steal everything not nailed down... and then to have the guards kick your butt if you get caught. Brings me back to the days of "Halt! Halt! Halt!" guard spam from Daggerfall. XD

tl;dr: I'm here because I love the game. It has its faults, but so did Skyrim. So did Morrowind. I find ESO's faults don't disrupt my personal experience too much, so I let them slide by and just have fun. :)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

Though I've been trying for weeks to get a sharpened spriggan 1 hander and at times it makes me want to leave I stay because I'm some how still having fun. There is a lot to do and the game still looks amazing to me. I'd give the game a 7/10. If Pvp was better and more focus from the devs was on pvp it would easily be 9/10 for me.

I'm here because I abandoned PvP and became a carebear and found more fun in the game doing trials, achievements and making use of the fun items available from achievement rewards e.g. skins, mementos. If someone's willing to give every aspect of the game a chance then there's almost endless entertainment to be had.

Me two years ago wouldn't have cared about housing, mounts, pets, skins or titles and me now is looking forward to player housing, new quest zones and being able to immerse myself more in the lore of the game. Hopefully me in two years time will once again enjoy PvP and not care about housing, achievements, skins or dyes.

It's become a game to play with other people. When you've done most of it, what else is there except to play with others. We players become friends. <3

BUT some people that I play/played with cannot log on to the game during prime time and this has been an issue for months. I cannot describe how infuriating it is without using profanity. So ... use your imagination. :s Was that off-topic; apologies if it was.

The game still has a lot of positive stuff going for it, along with the mentioned and well known negative ones. Kinda reminds me of a relationship that had its fire burn out to me, however weird that sounds. xD

I play because the game has potential and if the people running it would listen to the people who know what needs to be changed and come up with rational arguments as to why x and y has to be changed, this game could go from a 7/10 to a 9.9/10.

The biggest reason why I am still here is because I play on Xbox and there is nothing better to jump ship to. However as soon as another decent MMO comes out for consoles then I will probably leave... unless of course ZOS can get the S**T together and fix this game (IE - Lag, constant crashes, long load screens, class and skill imbalances, really bad RNG). On the plus side they still have a great IP and a lot worth fighting for as the game can still be fun to play!

I'm still here because of my raiding guild. The people there are awesome. I don't enjoy any other aspects of the game anymore, mainly due to the fact that vMA RNG gated me away from fair competition (450 runs, no Sharpened Inferno, and no hope to get one in the next 1000 runs).

I decided to wait with a switch to Black Desert until the next big update/DLC. If it doesn't address the RNG and unfair competition due to it, I'll be out of here. Pretty much giving ESO one last chance.

Because since the last GW2's balance patch. ESO has become the closest thing to a skill based PvP game in the Modern MMO Genre. Add the fact that I'm a huge TES fan since Oblivion damn that game and Skyrim which compelled thousands of hours of my life away. Not to mention the best graphics in my opinion that the MMO genre has to offer to date.
