But, yeah, it would be nice to tell us a little about what is going on, and what to expect over the next few weeks.

In general, we like to wait to give you information until we know for sure when a feature is being introduced, and remember we do usually have a bigger plan about when/how we announce updates. As far as bug reports go, we do our best to let you know if something is being investigated or if we have a fix in the pipeline, but we know there's always room for improvement.
We know everyone's super anxious to hear about the next new thing. Hang tight - we have some info coming soon.
Honestly I would just like to see devs talking to players a bit more on these forums and not on Reddit, or in some interview off site. Bring back some Q&As. They are a great, controlled method for interaction.
I guess you could say I'm not so interested in feature/fix announcements and "omg new stuff" as knowing that the devs are alive (and as a bonus, happy) and not locked away in a box working solely on crown store features. That you still have humans back there somewhere.
For what it's worth, the developers do mainly post here and rarely post on reddit (with the exception of when we host an AMA over there). The reason we like to host an AMA on the ESO subreddit is so everyone can participate (our forums require an invitation code), and it's also much easier to track and answer questions with multiple people due to how their formatting is. Interviews on external sites are a different beast.

There seems to be the impression from the Dev Team that all we want is information on updates and "the next new thing." This is not the case. What the community wants, based on the increasing number of posts and threads, is a discussion on the state of the game. Discussion on the performance issues, the state of PVP, the inability to address bugs, etc. Jessica promised a discussion with Brian Wheeler regarding his vision for IC, that thread was subtly deleted after months of waiting. Wrobel has been a no-show. So many skills are bugged and broken, many sets have issues, the loot system needs discussion, etc.
You don't have to have a "magic bullet" you don't even need a plan yet. But talk to your player base. Talk to us and get our input on the most pressing issues as we see them. Talk to us regarding ideas for simple improvements. If something gets accidentally broken, like logging out on console, don't try to bury the complaints. Acknowledge the problem and discuss how it broke, why it broke, and the process for getting it fixed. Just simple back and forth.
Mark Jacobs with CU goes out to random places where his game is being discussed and participates with the community in discussion. Its great! And despite the continual delays with getting that game out, people are thrilled and encouraged by the participation with the community and they trust the dev team. We, the players, aren't asking for that, just provide some feedback and discussion and such with your community here. So much of the nastiness on these forums are wounds just left to fester. Players are placed in the position of assuaging other disgruntled customers, not our job. That's the dev teams job. Open communication leads to faster and better bug fixes, and less vitriol on the forums. Its a win-win all around.

Maybe I'm a singleton from the minority, but the above post from Gina is a prime example of what I don't want. Besides the fact that it is always a pleasure to hear from Gina as a person - no doubt about that.
The song "hello there, we're here but we're not telling you anything yet, but we'll do soon(tm)", has been playing tooooo loooong. In my opinion.
I really want news, insight, analysis, reasoning, "behind-the-scenes", and stuff to look forward to, with some kind of schedule.
Not "discussion about the state of the game". I don't want to develop with the team, I don't want to interfere, but I sure would like to feel some kind of thrill about new content and mechanics. Because frankly, there's nothing exciting about crown crates.

Someone finally came here, yes.
Addressed some concerns... errr... no
But yeah, always nice to hear from Gina. By the way you're exaggerating here, she's not been posting much but she's been posting here and there.Stopnaggin wrote: »So you don't want a discussion about the state of the game but you want updates about the game? That's, I guess, one of the problems they're facing : as long as they keep silent, we swear we're ready to hear *anything* , but as soon as they speak up, it appears that we don't all want to hear the same things, or not in the same way. No wonder that they end up speaking up but saying nothing.

Are actual game devs forbidden from posting?

Why do they not post more often, are they just uninterested?

LOL, Bethesda's PR team is widely regarded as one of the best PR teams in the business. Pete Hines put together one of the most most successful press conferences in gaming industry history just last year. I'm pretty sure that PR is one area in which ZOS is not lacking.

Thank you, this is the very kind of communication we've been asking for. To me it goes along way with your community.

They communicate with us very well you are just not listening a complete you tube series PAC west I believe. Why would they need to keep repeating things over and over and over. They also had a full reddit Q and A a couple of months ago. It is like you just make up things just to complain.
