First of all, calm down. if you are doing a vet dungeon and have dd who can pull 50k dps, then you should be happy. Those pugs are rare. I also know a few healers who are interested in what dps I get, which also means if I get extreemly high, the buffs are spot on as well. This is also a way to improve in this game, and to be fair, those people (me) who care alot of dps, are the main reason people who dont care (you) are able to complete a veteran dungeon easy. Funny you mentioned the ignore list, because I did the same last week with a tank who didnt care about dps, running around with corrosive armor and selfish tank stats. Other dd was very low dps and didnt care either. City of ash veteran pledge hardmode, yes sure lets do that. Barely killed it on last platform number 3. I posted lower number then usual since I didnt get any buffs, I think it was 35k or something, but still 80% of group dps in combat meteics.
I always think: if it was 4 of me, how would we complete this? Am I the reason we cant complete? I can tell you right now, 4 of me I would'nt even need to taunt the boss before it died. 4 of you, you would ignorelist yourself and ragequit the dungeon.
With this attitude you should always no matter what situation, do only normal dungeons and never anything that has the word veteran in it, even more importent a 12 man raid. People dont deserve having you on their team. A player like you should stick to soloquesting only.

Are you that egotistical to actually believe that the rest of the world cares for what number you get for each boss kills? Jesus get over yourself! Nobody cares what high number you get. Just play the damn game already and quit spamming the chat with your nonsense junk.
I think I'm going to start using the ignore button.

As long as that way of thinking exists, players will continue to be showoffy numskulls.
Some of the DPS addons automatically post their parse results into /say or group/guild channel as a setting. FTC will even share it to other FTC users so you can see everyone's DPS in a cool little display window after fights.
My question is this: Why are you so offended by it? Surely it isn't that disruptive to your day to see a line of text in your chat window after a boss fight. Letting yourself be affected by something so minuscule is quite silly.

Why does it bother you, some people are proud of their abilities and achievements. Are you that insecure that you really get upset when someone posts a simple dps parse in chat? is it really that big of a deal? A lot of times it's common especially for raiders as they do it anyway to show their progress during a raid, a force of habit if you will. On the scale of things anyone should ever give 2 flying f&*ks about in this game tbh this is extremely low. Harden up a bit.
Picture this. You work in an office where the guy in the cubical next to you tells you a joke when he makes a sale. The same joke he told you the last time he made a sale. And the time before that. And the time before that. The same, damn, joke, day after day after day.
It's kinda like that.

Some unwillingly funny posts here. People talk about achievements and how how they post numbers to get the praise they feel they deserve...
Hello, it's a computer game where in-game progress is reciprocal to real-life achievements, let's be real.
The only thing it's really got going for it is how strangers from across the world join to solve group content together, and that shared sense of success when completing a task in cooperation with others.
The self-aggrandizing need for individual praise is a pretty much a joke in any computer game, nobody in their right mind really cares, why on earth would they?
It doesn't really matter to me if I spend 10, 30 or 40 minutes on a dungeon as long as I am having fun. I can enjoy a run full of fails lasting 40 minutes a hell of a lot more than an über slick run with appalling people that only takes 10 minutes. At least the run is short though.
I'm not thankful that I can complete it faster, I am thankful for playing alongside nice friendly people. I hope this can put the "please praise me, I really really deserve it" line of thought into perspective. There are a multitude of different ways to enjoy the game, and I feel it's safe to say that you, and your way of enjoying it, is the minority, so why try to impose it on the rest of us? If a DPS is really good, of course people will notice it without DPS-counters, and you know, might even send a high-five your way. But demanding praise by posting numbers is just plain obnoxious...
For those that don't have a virtual life inside MMO-land, it's not about a measure of time invested, its about the measure of fun returned, and I personally believe that's a far more sound approach to gaming. If your idea of fun is speed runs with a pro-group, then join a guild and post numbers all day long for people who appreciates it.

They will travel across the land, searching far and wide. Each dungeon mechanic to understand, the monster that's inside. DPS, gotta kill em all!

And put them on my own ignore list to, to not remember their account name and report the guy to my guild-master friends, so they are aware.
