Quite sure everyone already has done so, since that "look what person they have hired" turns up here quite regurlarly. Like, yesterday. When quite a lot of folks agreed we should stop blaming that one person. And that you can't possibly know what exactly happened to other games.

And now please enlighten me why posting a pic of bad reviews out of context is cool, and a pic of the current situation is not.

And we can't blame her. She was hired to do a job, and she is doing it. It is fair to assume that the result of her doing that job here, however, will be the same as the result of her doing her job on the other games she has under her belt.

You missed the point Recremen was making when he posted that picture, which was that reviews will plummet once people realize what is going on. What you did by posting the current situation was saying "they didn't plummet yet". And that's okay, but it isn't the point being made. Nobody was saying that they already plummeted.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Exactly, she was hired by Bethesda to do a job.

But as a Marketing Director, I feel her influence is likely not huge. There was also a new general manager at ZOS hired this year too. They have hired in more suits. Matt Firor as game director clearly was not enough for them.

What I'm going to hate is there is no guarantee that you will get the items you want... I only want the storm horse, and its a pain in the butt to think that even if i bought 15000 crowns worth i might not even get one mount...

I did this on Swtor I spent 24.99 on their large stuff pack and I wanted the lightsaber that was new... i did not get it.

I will buy one bundle of these, and If I don't get anything worth it in the first bundle I won't buy them again. Simples :)

I suspect that later on in the year that ESO will allow the mounts to be "limited" in the crown store to buy separately.

In SWTOR you can buy the lightsaber in the GTN though... you don't even have to buy a single crate, let alone a hypercrate. That option alone is what makes SWTOR' cartel crates tolerable.

Heres an example of an educated guess and I apologise it goes OT slightly but the point remains.

In the Uk we have a soccer league and a city called Leicester have a team that play it in the top flight. 2 years ago they got promoted to the top flight and ended the season struggling to stay in it. The 2015 season arrived and there were silly bets like 2000/1 for this team to WIN the league they had just struggled in.

Safe bet for the bookies as 'an educated guess' would show that was impossible.

Guess what happened. They won it. Those £20 bets some fans placed and forgot about, turned into £40000 wins and more. Bookies were crying. How can that happen? a bottom dredging team go an win the premier league.
Not only that, but they have now qualified for knock out stages in champions league, alongside likes of Barcelona etc.

That's what basing everything on an Educated guess gets you...... its just that.... a guess.

Is there a game whose steam reviews went from very positive to overwhelmingly negative based on nothing else but that game releasing a crown crate equivalent? Because if not, you don't really have any previous similar situations to base your educated guess on.

My guess is that any connection between releasing crown crate equivalent and game reviews going downhill are a case of correlation, rather than consequence. In other words, it is not that releasing the crates causes review to plummet - rather, both the bad reviews and the appearance of crates are caused by the game simply being bad. The reviews go down because players do not like the game, and the crates appear to cover the losses caused by leaving players, but the latter does not cause the former. It just happens alongside it.

That's a point waaaay outside of the curve, however, and it has more variables than we have here, allowing for a slight raise on the chances of something like this happening.

The team obviously changed something as to be able to reach that result. Strategy, maybe? That's usually what happens here in Brazil when we have this kind of unexpected result. We do have a saying here, "Football is a box of surprises" (kinda funny that I mention this in a RNG Box thread). The team radically changes its strategy, it changes players, it changes the coach, it changes as to reach a positive result. Because if you are losing and you don't change anything, you are going to keep losing.

Here, nothing about the RNG Boxes changed.

ESO is going with the same strategy these other games went with - applied by the same person.

It's nice that you think a different result is possible when the same thing is being done by the same people. I find it hard for this to happen.

I don't think the guy who posted the reviews picture was talking about the game review going down into negative, my reading of his post was that he was referring to our opinion being negative after this.

I am aware, but the game not turning off the servers doesn't mean that it didn't decrease in quality significantly. Which they did.

I do not want ESO to drastically decrease in quality. I'm sure that's understandable.

This is what I have been saying from the start. This smells of last ditch effort to get as much money as possible before moving on to the next project. A MMO can stay on life support for a very long time thanks to this kind of strategy, but that's only that. Life support. We get less content at slower pace, the game has trouble retaining old players and attracting new. When it comes tot that, the health of the game is gone. The servers are still on, but the game is pretty much over.

They? All of them? Some? Which one, exactly? How? I'm just curious, I'm playing 3 of the ones she worked for quite constantly. And all of them got more content afterwards, because there finally was enough money to develop new things or change existing ones without the constant fear of shutting down.

Back on topic. Do you think there will be a zone announcement when someone opens a crate and gets something rare? I'm afraid if I get weak one day and open one, I could get lucky and then everyone would know I was a little f2p scam box supporting punk.
Given the backlash when they did this when the Crown Store was new (announcing some pet or other), I don't think they would try it again.

Which ones are you playing? Were you playing before the shift happened or only after? And what do you consider to be "content"?

Because I remember this quite differently.

Edit: Sorry, I realized I didn't answer the question. Yes, all the ones that I saw on her history suffered in areas that I consider important after the shift happened. Content that was released was smaller and it came more slowly. Oh and note that this isn't something that happens immediately, because content takes time to be produced so for a while they still can release the stuff that was being made before the shift.

It was the first dogs they added. They made it flash on your screen as a system message, on yellow messages.

I was in Cyrodiil and I saw it, then I promptly used /feedback in game to tell them I didn't like that, then went to the sub reddit and there was already a thread about it. They never did that again.

So yeah, I don't think they will try that with the crates.

I am aware, but the game not turning off the servers doesn't mean that it didn't decrease in quality significantly. Which they did.
      .

They? All of them? Some? Which one, exactly? How? I'm just curious, I'm playing 3 of the ones she worked for quite constantly. And all of them got more content afterwards, because there finally was enough money to develop new things or change existing ones without the constant fear of shutting down.

Which ones are you playing? Were you playing before the shift happened or only after? And what do you consider to be "content"?

Because I remember this quite differently.

2 of them right from the start, one after some months, but before the "shift". So...?

Which ones, so I can be more specific on how it happened to them?

Because I understand that not so many people even notice it happening. Like how many people didn't notice that content release is already changing here. When we went through the B2P shift, ZOS said we would have 4 DLCs per year. Then, after Orsinium went to the PTS, they said that not all DLCs would be big like Orsinium. Then, more recently, because of One Tamriel, they said not every quarterly update will be DLC.

I don't approve of the Crown Crates, but I know that if no one buys them or they're not the cash grab they're expected to be (because of ridiculous RNG, poor rewards, or just disinterest), they'll be retooled or removed and replaced with something else that's RNG-based. I said it in a previous post, but this is just the state of F2P games.

There are no magic bullets for them to make money, pay there employees, pay their VCs or investors, develop new content, fix PVP and other bugs, etc. since they don't collect a subscription like Final Fantasy or WoW. All of the popular F2P games use these RNG boxes or bonuses in some capacity - TERA, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, Marvel Heroes, etc. If you want the world where these types of gimmicks are not common place or where items aren't blocked behind an RNG-wall, then we have to go back to sub-based game.

And people on these boards keep making this seem like it's just a 'keeping on the lights' move by a dying MMO. There is so much more involved in keeping an MMO alive - not to mention a F2P one - without a steady income like Blizzard gets on a monthly basis. I'm sure the people at Zen would love to hear the ideas for making consistent income without resorting to these crates or other RNG-based items. Everyone on here complains about how they support the company with the cash shop purchases and buying the DLC, but there are A LOT of people who don't do those things and just play the game that get on a Steam sale for $50%+ off and then never buy a thing again. They can't pay their bills, pay the investors, fix PVP and bugs, make new DLC and have cool items in the store when there is no steady income that trickles in. I wouldn't be surprised if more new MMOs in 2017 and beyond go back to a subscription.

This is related to the lady in question how? Because she joined in February. So it can't be her, exactly. But after she will leave here, and that game is on her list of games, people can go on and tell everyone about her and her evil influence?

And you can be more specific in just posting what you mean with "these games" and those awful changes. Without generalizing all the times out of the blue and that "I've seen it all and I know exactly what will happen" attitude. I will go down on my knees and beg for yor forgiveness if it turns out you are right, and this game will die and everyone will leave or write bad reviews because of the lady, the crates, and not the issues existing for months or years here now.

Next update isn't a DLC as well. But I hope that after housing we get Vvardenfell, which can be even bigger than Orsinium.

P.S. Can someone PM me what games are you talking about, please? I found out I'm pretty bad at googling :(

Can't wait to get a new mount. Don't even care which one I receive as it will fit one of my characters.

Are you hoping for a certain one anyway or do you like them all equally? I bought the clouded senche back when it was released and absolutely love him.

Not particularly though the horse looks pretty rad. I have the clouded senche as well. Would really like the tiger and cheetah looking ones lol

You are under the impression that I am blaming her. I am not, I explained how this happened already. She was hired to do a job. There is no "evil influence". The only reason to mention her is to say: "She does this, this is how she does it, and that's the result". If you hire a person to make you a wooden stool, they most likely will make you a wooden stool.

ZOS made a decision. Then, they hired her to do this because she is the one for this job (F2P transition strategies). And yes, this isn't the first step on that direction, it is just the most obvious one. That's an issue, too. Players often take too long to realize what is happening (me included, I was all happily hopping around the internet saying that my Altmer should have black hair and making bad TES puns until the announcement).
They had some content left over from before the B2P transition, which is what we have been getting and that's why things got slower and smaller with time, I imagine. We know this because the guilds, Orsinium and IC all were announced before the B2P transition, all of them but DB with screen caps, art, video or models already released or datamined (DB was officially announced way after the B2P transition, but we were told that it was going to be added since the first month or so after release).

I can't pick apart every single game she worked on, I'm not at home right now, which is why I am asking you for the titles of these three games that you feel that got better after the shift.

If it is sounding way too "general" for you, it is because it is a cake recipe that is followed every time.
And what are you saying? There is nothing to forgive, that's silly. We just have different opinions, that's all. If ESO turns out to be the exception to the rule, I will be really happy.

these cash RNG boxes are immoral and predatory, if a company has to resort to using methods like these to 'survive' there is something seriously wrong with either their product or how they are managing it.
