It's sad because after subbing for a month I'd have liked a reason -to- sub and show my loyalty, but this has officially made that unpossible as supporting this buisness practice goes against damn-near everything I stand for.
I will do my best, now, to throttle every single cent I could ever give you. Before I was happy to overpay for something because maybe it was a giggle for an hour or two, like the thief personality. No longer.
I am sad. Not shocked, this is no revelation, just sad and disappointed.

Simaris✭✭Shame. I've only been playing since 4th of this month, dropped about £50 for Crowns to buy the DLCs and extras (I don't do subs) and I'm pretty disappointed these things are now here. I've hopped from MMO to MMO so I can avoid these gods-forsaken boxes because they inevitably throttle content creation and almost everything new gets added to them. Looks like they hit here too. I'll ignore them, but if they end up taking over with the Crown Store getting the shaft I won't be dropping more cash since there'll be nothing to spend on.

Hmm, where has this sudden appearance of juvenile white knights with obviously no idea of what they are even talking about come from ?
threads been up 2 days, 20+ pages, nearly 18k hits and now they suddenly appear, kinda fishy if you ask me.
Anyways they have obviously no idea and these are the perfect victims for the Crates and exactly the kind of people they were designed to target, leave them be, there are always a few non believers who have to find out the hard way.

Lukums1✭✭✭✭You will also have the option to convert several items obtained from Crown Crates to Crown Gems any time you want. Items that can be manually converted include potions, poisons, riding lessons, experience scrolls, and other utility-type items. Any Crown Gems you earn can then be used to purchase the collectible items of your choosing from the current Crown Crate season.
So, it seems you won't be able to get rid of all the "consumables" you don't want or need. After seeing literally hundreds of "consumables" show up on the pts, "several" isn't going to cut it.
What about the costumes, hats, pets, frills, horns, whatevers that you don't want or won't use? [For me anything for argonians, none of my characters is one, and I have no plans to ever make one] I guess they aren't "utility" items and don't meet the trade-in requirement.
Are items instantly bound to your account the way it was in the pts version?

You can apparently convert everything into Gems, and you get Gems if you get stuff you already own.

You know what that means, right? The ppl who benefit the most from it and have the best chance to obtain the exclusives are the ones that have spent a lot on the Crown Store already
The line above is absolutely spot on.
THE people who spend the money now will BENEFIT hugely in the future simply because they will have all the 1 off items and the rest will be instantly converted into GEMS allowing you to get whatever you want next quarter.
The issue with this is they are forcing people to spend BIG and I mean BIG after testing on the PTS I can't stress enough that if you're not willing to spend over $200.00 DO NOT GET ON THE HORSE.

If you are referring to me, (which I know you are) I surely do not lack for spending power because I am an adult with significant disposable income just like anyone else who will be spending money on those crates. I have been subbed since the game launched on PC, pre ordered the collectors edition and purchased additional crown packages and this is NOT the only game I have spent real life money on.

The main problem with the white camel was not the camel, but all the junk that came with it. I would have paid 1900 Crowns for the camel without the extra stuff. I didn't buy it because I did not know what I would do with that extra junk. All those poisons? Sheesh.
I buy stuff from the Crown Store, but November was just pitiful in this respect. Hopefully they saved everything for December, and they left something for us non-premium buyers who don't do Crown Crates.

Trust I have no rebuttals. Sad to say I can not speak for those who don't know any better. I just know I've been so disgusted today that I haven't played more than 5 minutes today. VERY UNLIKE ME; I looked at all the crowns I have stashed and logged out, wondering what a waste of money. They've been working on these cash grabs but there's content that needs fixing, VMA, no (no nerf, a fix). TRIALS that haven't been doable due to dc's, LAG. PVP NEEDS WORK BAD and I don't even pvp. Its just utterly distasteful

If these people are so 'wise' I would like to know why will our version be different than the other 100+ games that have gone down this very same route ?

VERY UNLIKE ME; I looked at all the crowns I have stashed and logged out, wondering what a waste of money. They've been working on these cash grabs but there's content that needs fixing, VMA, no (no nerf, a fix). TRIALS that haven't been doable due to dc's, LAG. PVP NEEDS WORK BAD and I don't even pvp. Its just utterly distasteful

yes pretty sure there will be, its part of how they work, constant temptation, its subliminal advertising and another proven method to push consumers to purchase things they dont really need.
