Or in any event, if you decide to PUG or just run out by yourself, expect to have the same results as pugging in competitive PvE.

There are typically three categories of PvP, solo, group and zerg. If you have the option to run with an experienced PvP group, that's the best starting option. If not, join a zerg. Someone is almost always trying to build a zerg in zone chat.

Don't bother soloing until you get a grasp of group PvP. It's not any harder than any other type of PvP, but requires a different play style, build and level of awareness. You also can't rely on anyone else to repair your mistakes.

I'm in the minority, but I still love PVP. I don't freak out about proc sets, and I only think that they should be fixed if they are acting in an unintentional manner - such as when viper procs off of bow. I thought I'd hate it (mostly because I suck) and only tried it out initially to get vigor. Now, it's all that I play - even though I still suck.

Give it a shot see how it goes. Try to go in with some people that are familiar with it. Expect that you will die a lot but don't retreat from dying to much. Run back in because that is the only way to get better.

Yes, and keep in mind some of the people here trash talking pvp probably still spend half their life there.

Yes, we do. The performance issues bug me the most though. If you're a PVEr, imagine trying to run dungeons with 400-999 ping every day while ZOS did absolutely nothing about it. They keep telling you they are working on fixing the issue, but it never happens. Imagine feeling like they've completely abandoned PVE and every bit of new content went into Cyrodiil.
I understand a larger portion of the player base is PVE related, but I'm just trying to give some perspective so you can see why PVPers complain so much. We complain because we enjoy the PVP in this game, but for the most part, it's unplayable.

Large scale PVP at keeps is a blast (and was even more so before the lighting patch).

Of course it seems like everyone, players and ZOS, are interested in small-scale PVP and zergs, which bores the living crap out of me.

PvP will be fun once they introduce Battlegrounds PvP. There's just too much lag in Cyrodiil on console.

Personally, I love the large scale sieges. Don't even have to be specifically geared for PvP to be able to contribute, though it certainly helps, and there's more to it than what you might typically find in battlegrounds and arenas in other titles.

Smaller scale out in the field, not so much. Thank you ZoS for deciding against open world PvP for the rest of Tamriel.

I think it's pretty fun, although I only play metabuilds. 1h/Shield 5heavy StamDk & Spinner/Lich Destro ult sorc. If you're into 4-8 man coordinated group play the game has remained about the same as it's been. If you're a solo player -- you need to run a decent setup or you're getting instakilled by anyone who is.

Mostly I reserve my PvP time for when my characters can play BWB.

I've had a blast playing there as most of the more game breaking sets and lag aren't as prevalent.

In fact tonight, there wasn't much action going when I logged, so I went to hit a dolmen I needed. Was down to the final pinion, and all of a sudden a whole group showed up to help me finish it :)

Turns out the group was carrying a scroll they had just captured...but stooped to give me a hand.

Sometimes PvP turns into more than you expected....I helped the group return the scroll...and then joined them in the next fight.

Even when the map appears to be dead...there is fun to be had ;)

YES PvP can be a PITA...but it can also be a helluva lot of fun. Sometimes it just depends on your mindset going in.

    - Obtain 5x transmutation/Fassala/desert rose(3 yewelry +onehand/shield)
    - spam jezus beam and bol.
    - laugh while ppl fail to proc you to death
    - congratulations you are now a true walking tumor in pvp, have fun and enyoy

Depends on your definition of fun.

Can it be fun? Hell yeah. Running around Cyrodiil or the sewers with your group wrecking people, or going Zerg v Zerg can be pretty fun too.

What's not fun is the high ping, drops in frames, and the stealth zergs. And when I say stealth zerg, I don't mean like a group of 4 people in stealth..I mean like a group of 20 of those a-holes.

But I have fun most of the time I'm in PvP. I don't mind dying. I play the game for the fun of it. But I mean, winning is a perk. And so is being on the PvP leaderboards, especially with those gold rewards ;)

It can be a lot of fun if your gear and skills are setup for PvP, (it's a different gear and skill setup from PvE). Running with a group and defending/attacking keeps is great. But if you're not setup for PvP and/or you're running solo, you'll die so often that quickly lose the fun aspect. Also it's kind of a boring grind to be attacking or defending the same keeps, bridges, outposts day after day after day.... I usually play PvP for a 30 day campaign, then take a break and do PvE stuff for a while.

At the moment to enjoy PvP you need to be a stamina build running multiple proc sets and know how to exploit them.

That said for reasons I can't understand I can't seem to stay away. I hate myself for it and hate the fact that nearly everyone can slaughter me but I still end up going back.

You have to try pvp more than once to see if you like it. Don't let one zerg steamrolling you ruin all of it.

PvP has issues, and some nights it's barely playable. If they could fix it well then it would be awesome.
But I go home every night and play ESO way to long so I'm obviously having fun!!!

PvP was better for performance in the beginning of the game.

PvP has turned into a proc set fest with very little diversity with the build spectrum for Magicka ATM, so it is a bit lopsided.

Personally I prefer solo PvP to small group PvP, I liked being a zerg buster, but siege damage always varies.

PVP is great and for me the only reason I play this game. Once I figured out what was going on I have barely ventured back to PVE for over a year now. Go in and try it for yourself. It's much easier to find a group with text chat these days. Be warned though it's a very different place to PVE. Like some people have said the gear and skills that work in PVE generally don't work in PVP. Get in there play, ask other players questions or jump on YouTube and watch a few videos and you will be fine. Don't listen to the BS spewed on the forums especially anything to do with PVP.

Oh and make sure you choose a campaign that your faction is either winning or competive in when you start out. If you choose one that is dominated by an opposing side you will hate life as a PVP noob. Ask around in zone chat first and don't choose the guest campaign until you have tried out which ever home campaign you sign up to that way at least if you get it wrong you can guest in the right one until it flips.

They fights themselves are "kinda" balanced, but when 2 factions join forces to show the third's are useless, its boring.

And why do peeps keep complaining, saying u just need to fight back if is always like this: yellows and blus, both better organized and twice numbered. LOL. I'm red, but having fun until our 12-16 grp is overrun by 2x green grps :(

I think keep takings should be set ONLY on weekends, should be a bid for the taking. And its control should be week long, the owner should be the conqueror guild, not the faction.
