Will you ever introduce a solution to vMA drops to make it realistic to get the desired weapon?
People have suggested many options:
- Token System - either drop tokens or turn useless vMA weapons into tokens
- Droppable vMA enchants
- Make the weekly reward only drop in Sharpened (Precise for Resto staff), guaranteeing at least one useful weapon for the best 100 players once a week
- Buy vMA weapons at The Golden

Token system just needs to work like Tel Var currency. Get 1 token per run, then when you have something like 10, buy a grab bag (VMA Dagger Reward) that has a random traited Dagger inside. First three points aren't bad. Token system, of course. Enchant you can buy with tokens so you can stick it on any crafted weapon would be cool, because let's be honest, the staves look hideous.
Having a BiS trait for being high up on the leaderboard sounds fair.
Not keen on it being purchasable through the Cyro vendor. Leave it in the content where it comes from.

Having a terrible digress first (vMA dropped only in Sharpened, Precise, Defending; and the leaderboard reward guaranteed a useful vMA weapon) doesn't justify calling a slight improvement to complete nonsense progress. It's still much, much, much worse than it was at launch. Even with the 2x drop. At least the weekly used to guarantee you a weapon with a good trait.
Nowadays, weeklies go straight to decon, same as the chest reward.

But to call you out directly, how many times do you think it is reasonable to run vMA to get your desired weapon before giving up?
100? 200? 400 (my case)? 500? 1000? More?

I think the token system is a great idea because it still requires people to be able to actually beat maelstrom to get the best weapons in the game. The RNG is absolutely horrible and has caused me to stop doing maelstrom after seeing people beat it 400+ times and still not receive a sharpened inferno staff.
