1 Character for all story lines or 1 for each alliance?

Should I have 3 separate characters ( One for each alliance) to complete each alliance or just do the entire game with just my main character?

That depends upon how much time you intend to invest in the game. I will tell you it'll be a hell of a lot easier on you if you concentrate on one character, get some Champion Points, and return to make new characters later when you have the resources to outfit them. Not having CP makes everything go slower.

I've got characters in each Alliance and they've chosen every imaginable quest-choice (most quests don't have branching variations - I even accidentally didn't get the extra skill point reward from the Mage's Guild skill line on one character).

In One Tamriel it doesn't really matter.

Ok thank you! I have my main who has CP and is running around doing dlc's. With the Halloween event I made a second character (Level 47, 17 hours in) and was thinking if I really wanted to make a 3rd. I might as well invest that time into my main to get more CP once I rank 50 on my second then. I just want to have the best experience with the game cause it is now my favorite and only game I'm playing now!

    As you wish, actually...

If you go with three characters, you can swap gear finds around, just make them "one heavy armor, one medium armor, one light armor", and different weapons as well, so all you find from mobs and chests will be useful for you in some way. And natuirally you can always PvP on the side that currently holds your fancy (or has your friends online) But of course, the playtime will be split between the three...

But if you concentrate on one, you'll get there much quicker, blast through your storyline, get through the other alliance storylines with cadwells while collecting c-points, and then find any new character you might be tempted making will be having a much, much easier time when they are backed by a nice buffer of c-point power.

In the end, both options have their merits, and its up to you what you personally prefer.

Technically your character is still tied to the alliance backing them up for empererhood. But if you didn't do the other alliance quests you will miss out on a lot of skill points.

I have one per alliance, though my main that I do most of the content on is in the Pact. The reason I made alts in the other alliances is that personally I like attributing a character to each storyline, but it is slower to level them all up if you jump between them. I think it's really a matter of preference.

One character is much easier to maintain. Plus you can have 7 mules... I have just one mule, 1 main character and 6 active characters of different classes and specs whom I love and don't want to abandon, and they all have inventory problems, they all need different sets, they all needed mount training and crafting leveling (it's done, and it was hell :/ ), let alone collecting skyshards and questing on each of them... It's cool to be able to play as different roles and classes/specs, but one character is much more healthy both for questing and for becoming the most effective in what you do :'(

I feel really frustrated. I have a mag DK currently and I'm having such a hard time with orsinium and sustaining during battle.
Feel free to add me. I'm part of the Gummy Guars PC/Mac NA server. Master crafter and working on getting 9 traits on everything

Haha. My main is a DK Nord and I've done so much with him but I began playing as a Breton Templar tank (Now Level 25) and I love this one more than my Nord. I been farming using the Halloween 2xp trying to get him to 50 before it ends. I'm in between because even though I love the Templar a bit more, I have done so much with the Nord I can't see myself doing it all again. As of now my plans are to finish each alliance with a character from that faction. On the other hand as Fischblut stated, I want to get the most out of my main Nord because I just invested so much time with him. Wish there was a class change token dammit! lol

Where are your attributes.? I do half health and half Stamina/Magic. I've seen builds on YouTube where they put them all in one attribute but those builds don't work for me. This way I don't die as easy and I have a fighting chance even though my Damage isn't as strong. I was level 16 with my Templar fighting a 40ish player who than turned into a wolf and still didn't take me down. He ended up running away and forfeiting the match after a minute when I almost had him down. When I tried those YouTube builds I was getting killed in a few hits. Hope this could help some. Let me know.
