Combat Physician + Trinimax's Valor set

Was wondering if this set combo would work.

Combat Physician 5 pc - When you crit heal an ally, grant them a damage shield for 9 seconds.
Trinimac Valor 5 pc - When you cast a damage shield, you have a chance to call down a shard to heal allies and damage enemies.

If it would work, it would be a pretty cool combo for a healer. Only thing I doubt is that the wording says you "GRANT" the ally a damage shield, while Trinimac says you have to "CAST".

Thoughts?

As I've heard, this combo doesn't work. Trinimac's Valor procs when YOU apply shield ability on ally, not your loot.

I tried Trinimac and it really seems to be less than the 20% proc chance it claims to have. It's very underwhelming and there's many much better options.

Trinimac will work fine if you use DK as a healer lol. Igneous shield ftw

i like spc and combat physician combo... but its hard to find the staff for either one... much better shot at the combat phys cus the dungeon is wayrest... which is obviously easier than wgt.

No. I tried it on my DK healer (in endgame content), there are much better gear for a healer (even a DK one). Even with Igneous Shield it doesn't proc that often.

    That.

Combat physician is trash. Only one person gets the shield at a time.

aw really? that is SUPER lame.... they should change that in the tool tip because it reads like it applies it to anyone thats critically healed... guess i'll just stick with worm/aether + spc

Yes it only applies to one person at a time. Stick with your actual gear, it's much better than Combat Physician.

Combat Physician only procs if you heal someone who is not at full health. So you can't preemptively shield someone. It's really a bad set for group healing. Haven't tried Prayer Shawl (which offers a similar 5p bonus as Combat Physician) to see if it's subject to the same kinds of limitations, but Shawl's shield is so small that it's likely not worth it even if it doesn't have the same kinds of proc restrictions.

For healing, stick with a 5/5/1 setup (with the 1p being either a vDSA/vMA staff, or a 1p monster set piece--Spell Damage from Kena, Magicka Recovery from Chokethorn or Shadowrend with staves belonging to one of the 5p sets), with the 5p being SPC, Worm, Infallible, Twilight Remedy, Gossamer, or Kagrenac (if opting for crafted).

Oh. That would explain why spamming heals into my group while testing the set did absolutely nothing. I thought it was a bug. Combat would be sweet if the 6 second cooldown was on each friendly target, but I guess that would make it disgustingly strong in pvp.

I'm also very very disappointed with Combat Physician. I was thinking it will be a great passive for dedicated healers, e.g. when they spam healing springs on all 3 other players in a dungeon, granting all of them a shield in the same time. To me that seems logical, and if seems too powerful for pvp, simply should have a restriction that it's not working in pvp/Cyrodiil.
It's competitive for Steadfast Ward from Restoration Staff Skills, which can be spammed multiple times for the same duration without cooldown, and this Resto Ward imo looks much better with it's morphs than single shield of Physician.
I hope ZOS will think this over and re-design this set - to me it only makes sense if could be used on many allies simultaneously.

There are a lot of sets that are pure disappointment. Combat Physician is one of those. It it worked as I expected it to do, I could combine it with reviving barrier for all those no death runs in vet dungeons. But the way it works, it is simply not worth the time or effort. The only thing that keeps me from deconstructing the damn thing is that I hope Zos might fix it in some of future updates. Until then, it is good enough for my mule I guess lol.
