OK, so for the sake of experimenting and comparison, just now I went into Crypt of Hearts 2 on normal and on veteran and ran in to die to the first group of mobs on both.

I made sure that I had no gear equipped for either death so that it would be a fair comparison with no worrying about whether my gear was degraded on one or the other.

And here's the Combat Metrics report for it:

What is Combat MEtrics? How do you get this?

its an add on the measures ur dps ... u can download it by searching for combat metrics addon eso in google

Or search for it on Minion

I would assume most complainers are clueless of game mechanics or efficient build making because i can run most normal dungeon on a pre30 lvl toon without too much issue.

Im not saying its a breeze, it does require thinking and we do wipe sometimes but overall it isnt as bad as people make it sound in this thread...

I've solo'd the normal and vet of a few dungeons.
    • Trash mobs hit harder in normal
    • Bosses hit harder in vet

"Normal" mobs shouldn't do more damage than "Vet" mobs. I don't really care in the end but I can see why folks trying out new dungeons or wanting something other than grinding to do would care and sympathize.

If you're intent is to be a damage dealer then heavy armor is a bad way to go. If you're a tank Skoria is a bad way to go.

Skoria is actually quite viable on a DK Tank. I tank trials all the time. Just saying.

Ladies and gentlemen, for the love of all that is sane, stop giving OP advice or critique directed towards his build. It wasn't his issue/problem. If he says he's happy with it and is doing fine with it (as he said he was, before 1T) then let it be. Most of what I've been reading so far is "you're doing it wrong", "do this", "You are a lousy DPS", a bunch of people trying to push OP into a cookie cutter build that he/she obviously doesn't want. Besides, it's boring to see everyone running the same meta build. Give the game a little variation and let those Differently Geared play in peace.

I find the forums nice but a lot, a lot of the community are way too focused on meta. I've yet to read a thread where no one is suggesting a cookie cutter build but instead says "your build (a really strange one) is not what I'd be using, but if that's how you want to play, then let's discuss how we can optimise it without sacrificing your play style." All this talk about top tier DPS and all that, not everyone is a min/maxer or aiming for competitive PvE.

Now, can we get on with the original issue? I'm actually curious with how broken normal dungeons are compared to vet. And it seems like others on this thread have also experienced this, so it can't just be someone's imagination.

Just started fungall grotto II randome normal an we just just got wiped out by the first group of mobs...
Im cp lvl 120 full purple with scoria and hevy armour and still get wiped out in seconds

Is this inteded?! Played it yesturday had no problems
    this is nonsense...

I did City of Ash II, Fungal Grotto II, and Banished Cells II today. The IIs seem to be more difficult than the regular normal dungeons were. That being said, my pug groups were able to complete all three. But there was plenty of death to go around with several players bowing out from frustration.

My sense of it is that they are too difficult for beginners who don't take the time to optimize their characters.

This is a bug. I saw the same thing on the same dungeon. I had no resistance and was getting no critical heals at all. The mobs were hitting me with 10k attacks on normal difficulty. I suspected it was scaling related since one player in the group was level 18. Needless to say, these mobs were near impossible and far harder than any vet dungeon. Played the same dungeon later with CP players and rolled right through it.

took 2 friends into multiple dungeons yesterday including fungal II.

It really isnt that bad at all and does not take that long.

Just to clarify those friends havent even got any CP.

Now okay thats normal. But ive run fungal multiple times since the patch and it still goes just as quick as it used to.

if it really was as bad as you say even the high cp players would feel it. thats a fact because they really are not any worse or harder to kill than they used to be.

Maybe not impossible, but for sure the difficulty level of the mobs - their health and hits damage being at least doubled - was increased a lot in random dungeon, if we are unlucky to go with pug for version II. Imho it's way too much for a RANDOM NORMAL, because trash looks to be tougher than in veteran mode, and I'm not queueing for veteran but normal!

Before last changes I had no problem in random normal and veteran, either tanking or healing, but yesterday I also tried Fungal Grotto II in pug, and we all died on first trash mobs. That was a real surprise, but ok I thought it's an accident so we pushed further. Another group of trash and bam, group died. We changed tactic, didn't help much. I admit, healing was bad (and healer was kicked), dd was quite ok even as for 2 archers (I don't like 2 archers in dungeons, my personal feeling), I was doing my best trying to shield everyone sustaining myself etc the usuall way. Another, better, healer came, and again we died on trash. We did first minor boss - quite simple, then another trash and we were wiped double time. I gave up and quit, waste of time, gold and soul gems, to do random normal in pug.

The difficulty for dung version II would be ok if it wasn't in random normal queue - players with lvl 10+ and no CP have to do this hard content? This is a joke. Or a bug which must be repaired.

    Hey Folks,

A bit of a mea culpa here. We did erroneously adjusted the damage of normal dungeons higher than intended and will be bringing them back in line with the next incremental. They should be adjusted back to the health and power levels from OneTamriel Launch.

Thanks for all the feedback and we apologize for the unexpected spike in difficulty.

Petty sad to only report in a single thread that the scaling in normal dungeons is an issue and forcing people to browse through every thread to find an answer.

True, if that's such an important issue that can destroy the fun from doing randoms, it should be oficially stated on top of forums as a warning what to do/not to do until the bug is solved.

    Holy cow!
I just re-read their comment and my post in the thread above and they ninja-edited their own comment:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/3441486/#Comment_3441486

Before their ninja-edit it was labeled as "unexpected spike in difficulty" as you can see by me getting irritated in my post - whereas now it's being labeled as "higher than intended".

It seems if you edit something that already was quoted it gets updated to the current edited version.
And if you're an admin it doesn't even show the date and time you edited your own post.

    Really shady approach.
    Mind-blowing actually.

It seems from now on I need to capture every single official post on screenshot if they do something like that.

Hmm still waiting on 1. why they ninja-edit their own comment about it being an issue and 2. how long it takes to fix that scaling mess.
