one came to my mind, just in case
- If you do not want to receive dueling invites (I do want), turn on auto-decline in the game menu

Oh, I don't know about that one. As long as both players know what they're getting into... I mean I do almost no PVP, and I wouldn't be upset if I dueled a major PVPer and got my ass handed to me. As long as I wasn't under the impression that we were on similar PVP skill levels anyway.WuffyCerulei wrote: »With One Tamriel coming out on live PC servers in less than a week, it'd be good to know what not to do a stoplight with dueling:

Yup, yup, yup.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Do research on sets, skill combos, and more.
-DON'T send duel invites to anyone and everyone. That's just annoying.
-Avoid dueling in very busy places, such as capital cities. The lag is already bad enough.
I don't know about this one either. It seems like it might add a little bit of extra spice to a duel if you were to go to a place full of mobs to do it. Again, though, only as long as both players know what they're getting into.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Clear out all hostile NPCs before dueling.

-Know that your gear won't be broken by dueling, and that you can rez for free if you die.
-Turn on Prevent Attack Innocents to avoid an unwanted bounty!!
And of course, because I have almost no interest in dueling personally, I'll be turning auto-decline on. If someone who I actually know wants to duel and I feel like it, I'll temporarily change my settings and we can duel away, but I won't be dueling any randoms.WuffyCerulei wrote: »If you have any more advice, feel free to add!

Spend 5 minutes in zone chat and you will read things that will astonish you. I was in the military in combat and some of the things said even offend me (almost impossible to do)
Spend 5 minutes in any major city and you will see fools popping off endless hail or caltrops incessantly until you want to eat a bullet.
Spend 5 minutes at the banker trying to target him through the endless mass of pets and people emoting again and again
Do you honestly think anyone is going to adhere to etiquette on dueling when they can't understand basic etiquette in life?

I hope that P.A.I. feature will be automatically switched off when the duel starts.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Turn on Prevent Attack Innocents to avoid an unwanted bounty!!

Less than a week ? Do we have a date already for update 12 ?WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Duel people with similar skill. Someone who hasn't done PVP before is majorly disadvantaged compared to a PVP pro.
Why ? How ? That implies duelling only people you know. How about letting people make their own choices ? Noone is forced to accept a duel.
Besides, there might be a bit of chaos at the beginning when people will want their "win 100 duels" achievement, but beyond that, noone enjoys fighting noobs or too easy fights, especially if there's nothing to win by doing it.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Do research on sets, skill combos, and more.
That's common advice, not etiquette.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-DON'T send duel invites to anyone and everyone. That's just annoying.
Turn on auto-decline. Problem solved. The whole point is to be able to challenge/fight anyone you want, why would you want to restrict that ?WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Avoid dueling in very busy places, such as capital cities. The lag is already bad enough.
Agree on this one (not only because of the "lag", but simply because of immersion). I'm afraid some duellers will want to be "seen" anyway.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Clear out all hostile NPCs before dueling.
Why ? People are free to choose if they want the extra spice or not.WuffyCerulei wrote: »-Keep potions and food on you.

No need for that. As soon as you're duelling, there's just you and your opponent in your "bubble" anyway. If I understood the devs correctly, only some mobs, already hostile and outside cities, will be "allowed" to interfere.
I agree with some other added suggestions, especially the "don't pollute the chatbox with your personal duelling issues", but I'm afraid that's wishful thinking. I'm ready to put countless players on "ignore" just for that sake...

Seriously, won't take many random invites but excited for dueling. Hoping no one minds me declining if I'm questing or grinding
Are you not supposed to do that? No wonder nobody ever wants to play tennis with me!Don't tbag someone if you win a duel. It's the equivalent of spitting in someone's face after a tennis match.
