As for etiquette... If the person's food runs out mid battle. Let him/her eat it again and restart. I don't know how many times this happened to me lol.

Mercy is for the weak. FINISH HIM!!!

This is not specifically an etiquette thing, but it just occurred to me...I bet this will give rise to a new type of guild in the game...the "fight club" guild. I was just reading thru the comments here, and players are saying they may participate some, but often not or generally not with other unknown players. I'd be the same way, and it got me thinking, who better to beat up on and get beat up on, than by your own guild-mates...<g>...would be good for practice as well...test new skills, new builds, etc...

If you're a Magicka build and not a MagPlar, just turn on auto decline.

No etiquette. I expect people to come up to me, spit in my face, and the duel commences.

    Damn that's hot

I don't like duelling in general (I once got yelled at for running heavy Seducer because it was "op"). Having said that, duels will certainly make for testing builds and abilities a lot less problematic. Can't wait.

Step 1: Talk *** to your target

Step 2: Challenge them to a duel.

Step 3: Go perma-stealth, activate all nasty buffs, put debuffs on your opponent, don't forget to use the nasty 60% cost increase poison for both magicka and stamina.

    Step 4: Rek em.

    Step 5: Teabag your opponent.

Step 6: Talk more *** to your opponent.

Don't start fights in zone chat just so you can use the "duel me bro" phrase.

If you lose, don't cry about it in PM or zone... Honestly neither the person who beat you nor the zones cares, that you think they only won because they are a noob using easy skills and you are pro who dies to those skills.

lmao I kind of want to do this now lololol

Edit: the zone chat fight part

Why do people get cranky when they lose and yell about how you only won cos of easy skills or OP gear? Isnt using easy skills and getting OP gear the whole point in that you have best outcone at lowest cost?

I think a lot of people will.

In fact I wonder how popular duels will be... and how quickly the novelty will wear off.

I'm sure there will be a lot of excitement when we're initially allowed to duel, particularly for those who want to do it as publicly as possible ;) , but it won't be long before we get "Sorcs OP in duels", "Nerf templars", "Stop the WB spammers", and all the rest...

There will be tears before bedtime :)

duels are allowed everywhere -> huge lag in cities -> annoyed players will flame forumz -> ZOS will disable duels in cities -> ZOS could have done so before duels go live

Cant wait! Even made a brand new toon with no AR so I can bait ppl into thinking i might be an easy kill. My other 5 chars are all over AR 20.

what do you mean by "AR"?

    AR = Alliance Rank :)

As for etiquette... If the person's food runs out mid battle. Let him/her eat it again and restart. I don't know how many times this happened to me lol.

How is this an issue? Doesn't everyone keep their food/drink quuckslotted for easy use? I always have, can't imagine playing this game without it like that, runs out constantly and needs to be on-hand to use again and keep fighting, and the animation can be cancelled so it takes almost no time at all to use and keep going. I certainly can't see a good reason to stop a fight over it.

A couple of additional bits of etiquette:-

If someone has dueling enabled but for whatever reason declines your invitation, accept that decision unquestioningly and move on. Spamming invitations over and over to the same player isn't going to change his mind, nor is sending him whispers about it.

If someone has dueling disabled, don't send him whispers asking him to accept an invitation from you. He's disabled it for a reason, respect that and move on.

Finally some forum etiquette which it would be good if the mods underlined:-

If you have some feedback on PvP combat skills relating to your dueling experiences, the place for it is not on this General Discussion forum but on the PvP Combat and Skills forum.
