Hi,

Please vote and explain.

If you agree on ZOS releasing a Creation Kit for ESO, may I know why you would agree?

On the opposite, may I know why you wouldn't agree?

Pros and cons?

Thanks.

The current mod system works just fine. A creation kit would force the insanity of the few on the many.

How do you suggest anyone would be able to get their mods in-game?
Wait for Zenimax to verify the mod and implement it?

Not sure I quite see the point it.

In any case it would open up for trixy players to gain advantages that ruin the fun of others.

Folks, obviously a Creation Kit for ESO wouldn't let you make your own bikini armor or cheat items. That's just not a feasible thing to put in an this kind of MMO, for several reasons. But I've gotten so much joy from quest mods in the singleplayer games, and I'd love to experience that (and make quests of my own) in this game, as well.

While the idea of having a free form modding tool similar to that of Skyrim is very unlikely and exploitable to tell, I could see it being useful for people to make builds, spells, areas, abilities, classes, dungeons, and land to show off to ZoS in the hope that they will put it in the game.

Sort of like the Steam Workshop on TF2! It would allow for more content to be pushed while allowing the community to make their favorite game with all of their friends. It's still gon need a f**k ton of oversight to be put into the game though, but it would be worth it!

You do realize its already possible to mod eso. only its UI and info mods. Google ESO Minion. it lets you search and install those mods. Like the Sky shards one, that basically marks all the games skyshards on your map.

Where as a full on Creation kit would not only end up with some players having very disturbing mods, but it is not technically possible to mod an mmo without causing problems.

(And Second life once had a in game serious interview get trolled with thousands of ***-images. I rest my case)

I feel like all of the actual mod authors & programmers are saying no so I'm going to stick with those guys lol
But it would be kind of cool if when I looked at ESO the armor that I saw was different than what they looked like on my friends computer; ie.. we both had different yet custom skinned themes for npc's & players.

I'm not sure why you're quoting me, because my post is explicitly stating that a full Creation Kit isn't feasible. ;) I'm saying that I'd like to see something like the Foundry system that appears in Cryptic's games.

And I use several addons in ESO already. Again, not sure why you're bringing this up to me, as my post is talking about quests -- which don't really exist in the realm of UI mods.

Sometimes it still surprises/amazes me how some people simply can't see all the differences between a single player game and an MMO.

It's like... every time someone says "guards should not be immortal because they weren't in Skyrim", I die a little inside.

Beyond that, assuming the BEST case scenario where the OP knows all of that and was actually trying to suggest something like the Forge from the Dungeons and Dragons game where people could "create content" (AKA, create dungeons and such)...

Still no. Didn't work well there and wouldn't work well here, besides, player created content would hardly have the same quality of ZOS content unless the level of freedom for creators was extremely high (as in Skyrim high) but that would never happen because this is an MMO and there would be no way to regulate that properly and prevent abuse and all that.

If you still think it's a good idea, play 15 minutes of Second Life and try to grasp anything logical out of it.

You'd think that after they build the race models, they'd remember the tails right?

In my experience you only get tail-holes in armor/outfits if you explicitly ask for it.

Sure, I don't see why not. A lot of MMO's are doing stuff like this these days. It could work similar to STO or Neverwinter with player created content. I always get carried away whenever playing TES or Fallout, I end up spending more time in the creation kit than I do actually playing the game. I enjoy creating and scripting NPC's and combat mostly but there is a lot of fun things you can do.

    No.

Mods can change too many things. How would ZOS manage to control the content? I'm not talking about the people who want to wear dental floss as armor or use swords the size of the Washington Monument. The armor that has stats better than they should be, food that boosts more than it should, jewelry that regens health or stamina faster... Cheat Engine was bad; allowing mods beyond the ui/addons that exist now would be even worse.

And yet again, people forget that this game is becoming ever more Console centric, which means before doing anything now, the devs have to ask themselves "Can we make this work on Console and keep MS and Sony happy?". If it breaks something to do with the console models, and MS or Sony do not agree, it isn't happening, even on PC.
