I recall the guildmate who wasnt old enough to buy ESO on his own, was spending his last summer after high school graduation at 12plus hours playing daily, and thought that his mag-sorc overload build made him superior to we 40/50/60 year olds who have incomes to make and bills to pay.Stoopid_Nwah wrote: »And of course "typical" farming is an option, but with the low drop rates, it can take days to get the amount needed. But in fairness, that would make him a superior player. If he's playing 12 hours a day while you're all playing 10-15 hours a week -- it's only natural that he would become the superior player in terms of understanding the game and understanding his class.
It's very popular to refer to millennials as the "Entitlement" generation. However, the idea that you're going to spend a fraction of the time on something that someone else does -- and be equally proficient based off nothing more than your age and the fact that you have real world responsibilities is one of the most entitled things I've ever read.

ultimately if thats what it cost and im guessing you being the entitlement generation then thats what u have to pay .. get over yourself go put in some work or pay the price
Hey look everyone someone using the age card again, alright buddy lemme say a few things
1: selling them for tel var still requires grinding
2: I played a game called pirate101 you may have heard of it before and might think that's a children's game, your not wrong but the bis gear for that game requires way more grinding then any game you've played, getting top gear took my clan(Undefeated CvC record) over 2 years of playing 12 hours a day, even still after a year of farming I have yet to get shoshos kit, an item locked behind a half hour dungeon with a loot table diluted by 100's of other items, every loot table is diluted like that. Did I mention this bis gear is only wearable by 1 class, there are 5, I know a grind thank you very much
3: I'm assuming you're apart of another generation so yes call me the entitlement generation, it's not like your generation helped **** over the world

If you played a game with a crappy loot setup for 12+ hrs a day/week for over 2 years, you either don't catch on too fast to things, or you were underage on that site to begin with and it showed by manifesting into your blind chase the carrot experience that made you jaded. Age gates are important because of young developing minds. Learn from your experience, work for something reasonably. If you can't earn it, work for it. Also grinding telvar is beyond easy since they nerfed IC into the ground. Mobs used to hurt.

Read that again. Where did I say superior *player*?
It's not about being as good for a slice of the time. It's about those with oodles of time being aware that they have a benefit that most don't.
I buy stacks of raw materials from low levels and I search through guildtraders for raw materials, when I refine I get 100-350 of each Rosin/Wax/Alloys.ForsakenSin wrote: »iim just going to share my story , one month ago i had like 80k gold and i was always wondering how people can buy items worth 200k ect mind you 80k gold was the most money i had since the game came out... so yhea i spend some money ect but max i always had at one time was 80k
so about a month ago what ive done is each day i spend 1 hr of my play time shopping and selling buying low selling high and i managed to turn that 80k gold into 800k ( mind you ive also managed to spend over 400k on items i wanted) so i hate to say this but making money is easy ... farm mats join the guild the guild i am in pays 5k per week so not bad sell those mats or refine it and look at items that sell and find them and resell it for a bit cheaper ect.
However its a shame that people who exploited are allowed to keep their mats and tamper in guild shops ive seen same person selling 200 tamper 200 tamper 200 tamper 200 wax 200 wax 1.4mill per stack
so in total 600 tamper and 400 wax .... and this was only in one trader who knows how many others traders he is selling them to.....

Fixed and yes. A small group of players control the majority of the large guild traders. This allows them to set the minimum prices for many items such as tempering alloys.
Farming is a solution, but it's not always viable for people with time constraints. I chose to farm and seek out the help of some guildies last time I wanted to make some gold swords.
This game is a massive RNG grind.

If consumers were smart, they could easily manipulate the market to reduce the prices.
People are forgetting that this is GAME. I don't play eso as a chore, I play for fun after a full days commitments. But it gets harder and harder to log on and have fun when people are buying all the tempers and charging 30k for them. And people on here casually are like oh it's inflation lol live with it stop being entitled bla bla bla. No this isn't inflation, it's people with no real life anything holding the monopoly and charging everyone far far far too much for things. All it will achieve is a huge wallet and a gradual population decline.
Not this again. Anytime anything happens that people don't agree with the game is all of a sudden going to die.
I think most have done this including myself but in reality that is not going to happen.
So since you play this as a game and don't consider farming to be part of the game that things should just be handed to you? You as a single player can choose what they do with their in game time just as everyone else can to. Just because you consider farming a chore does not mean everyone else does as well.
As long as people are buying people will continue selling for whatever people buy them for.
Who is to say what is to much? The player base as a whole decides what is to much, not you or me alone.
Nobody forces you to upgrade your items, nobody forces you to buy or farm your gold mats.
Just because you don't enjoy part of the game does not mean others don't as well.
No farming is not fun. Farming is something that young people do because they have all the time in the world and when they are done farming then they continue onto the fun parts parts of the game. I do not play this game to 'farm' yet there is no competitive alternative in this game to progress and keep up with they constant addition of sets in this game that are getting more and more ridiculous.
Also I never said the game would die, you put those words in my mouth. However I play in the oceanic timezone and because of the lower population there I can easily notice the population declining because some nights the pvp is non existent and there are very few people in the main hubs compared to recent months.

Most casual players only have a few hours, if that, to spend playing and it's ignorant to tell then that they need to spend a month or more grinding away using all their precious few hours every day to be able to upgrade and compete with the jobless people staying at home raking in the welfare checks and or mommy and daddy's allowances.
I foresee crown store selling gold mats in the near future...
