On stam classes you could rock velidreth, Viscous serpent and a crafted set. Plus there are new sets coming and Jewlery being added to current sets.
Not a deal breaker if you don't have them. Sure some classes really shine with them. But other than stam dk you can make your way around it
Or go get master weapons now that they scale? For real I can't believe these threads still exist now that you can get cp160 master weapons.
I have completed all Craglorn Vet Trials and 2 of them in hard mode. I dont have MA weapons, I'm still on the last boss of VMA.I know all the mechanics and tricks, I just haven't had the motivation to do it. Maybe once my guild starts Vet MoL progression I might go in and complete the damn thing and farm for the staves..
The only thing I think MA does wrong is the fact it's solo.
Just come back to at a later level. You do not absolutely need Maelstrom weapons to be successful.
I attempted it at 280 CP, farmed to 380 CP and did it again and finally beat it. Was a vampire too.
The key is to not stress over it at a lower CP, just grind some XP out and get more CP.
A lot of people complain that getting CP is difficult but in reality it's a lot better and quicker now than it was before. At least you don't require 975,000 XP just for 1 CP.

not true with the new cp system was introduced ... players at 210 cp recieve diminishing returns on xp from kills ... so altho cp was harder to get when it first dropped it is 55% harder to get since the removal of the vet system ... sucks when u get a toon to 50 and your only getting 60-220 cxp per kill
This is the problem I have with the token system:
I'd hate if it turned out to be 1st stage farming.
The only way I see a token system work would be if there is only one token per run.
Or better yet, the tokens are generated by deconstructing Maelstrom weapons.

You don't get it.
You can't blame anyone else for failing a solo arena.
This is a perfect "sanity check", to show you how good or bad you actually are.
When in group dungeons, people always tend to blame someone else for failing, nobody likes to admit they suck.

I suck, why isn't so hard to say that u made a mistake.

Oh please, I can name whole guilds that have completed veteran trials without Maelstrom weapons.
vMA teaches you play with out of box thinking. Instead of full DPS gear+abilities, you have to think defensively. Abit of tweak needed to get your toon right on line. Like choosing some defensive morphs too. For me with a Magicka DK, I'm going 5 heavy armor pieces and S&B. Dropping my DoT's and watch it tick while im blocking in some hard fights or some fights needed to be defensive.
Nature of DK means you need to stay in close to your enemies to deal damage so i adapted this style instead going full glass cannon. With all Light armor and staves, my dps increases but also i die when i try to use my skills. A dead man cant DPS so i have to stay alive and keep dps.
Sometimes i can be mini tank when situation depends. It makes my group have some relief while getting back at fight.
Oh also sometimes i use Resto staves to keep me sustained.
I think it is safe to say after 50 times completing vMSA, you have figured it out, you have become a better player etc. Why do you have to do it 100 more times to get the drop you need?

You don't suck. No one sucks in video games. People need to understand that. There's simply just being more experienced in certain things, and levels of things such as concentration and focus. Seriously. There's levels to mastery in gaming. Whether it be: MMO's, FPS's, FG's, etc. However! There is such a thing as the "scrub mentality". And that is something entirely different, but still relavent. Here, take a look over this. It should help you. http://www.sirlin.net/articles/playing-to-win
I don't agree it is the worst thing put in the game - Most frustrating thing - 100%!!!!!!!! I'm on the second arena and seriously doubt my ability to finish it. I would dearly love one of those sweet weapons though so will continue to plug away at it. May take me a year - I don't know. The amount of damage one suffers in there is bananas, everything hits like the Terminator. Sigh! Good luck comrades.
