Well the thing with Ilambris is that it procs off DoTs and direct damage attacks. So Liquid Lightning, Fire Blockade, Force Pulse, Lightning Staff attacks, Shooting Star will all proc this set so its fair to expect meteor showers every 10 seconds. I'm just thinking that the damage might be a little low...
Velidreth can crit for like 30k with Warhorn, Alkosh, Night Mother and Spell Power Cure. I've heard that it can consistently provide around 2.6k DPS, as opposed to Neri and Skoria who both peak at around 1.7k. As a Sorc I can't use Skoria because 3-4 DoTs just isn't enough, although I'd love to use it. Neri is okay on a Sorc and procs fairly often. About 2-3 times in a rotation.
Molag Kena is really near useless now with all the crazy cost increase, it's very very hard to keep a constant uptime and keep your magicka above 30% even with all the group buffs and Orbs. I think that we need a revamp of this set to make it usable again.
Anyway the cool thing about Ilambris is that the meteor showers can proc at the same time.

The bolded line.
Nearly every magicka dps is using 3-4 dots in PVE. So if that isn't enough, then it won't be enough for any class.

The lava set might be a nice change from Skoria, but it's not ranged, and the dam doesn't seem to be on par with Skoria, so with the small buff to Skoria, that one will still probably be better.
Thus still nothing new under the sun for a MagKnight DPS build *sigh*
And why the f* do all our monster sets have to have useless 1 piece bonuses like friggin health and all our set damage be DoTs while stam get set after set with stamina, weap damage or weap crit for 1 piece bonus, and burst dam for 2nd bonus ...

Bad thing about Ilambris (if I am thinking of the right set, that the lightning/fire meteor, right?) is that because the devs are biased towards stam and despise the fact that some magicka players were actually using the lightning staff, they nerfed it to such an extent that you should not be using lightning staffs.
That's the way the devs like it though. If you play magicka, you;ve got to make sacrifices, equip bad weapons/gear, lose set bonuses and spellpower, just to make things work.

There is no one piece Weapon Crit bonus, but there IS A 1-PIECE SPELL CRIT BONUS.

I know magicka is in a bad spot right now but I still know for a fact that in my trial guild the group is more in need of a magicka DPS than of a stamina one.
I have a stam sorc and a stam DK that are trial ready whenever anyone calls for it, but most of the time I'm asked to hop onto my mage sorc or nightblade.
Nerien'eth is crap because of the 1 piece bonus so i don't like to use it. Skoria got a nice damage buff so I might try it on my nightblade or even my sorc (but like I said 3 DoTs ain't really a reliable way to proc it). Ilambris is a perfect set for sorcs though and getting both meteor showers every 8-10seconds sounds quite strong. Counting non-crits only each meteor shower does 1.5k damage, so my guess is that the DPS is going to be roughly 2k with 78.2% crit.
Now if thats the case then I'll definetly use it over the existing sets.
@Alcast would you mind testing this when EU characters get copied to the PTS? It would be really nice to see a proper DPS parse to actually judge this set.

I think, someone mentioned a stealth nerf for Skoria.
They increased the damage but increased the cooldown. Several people seemed to confirm this.

What is the cool down increased to on skoria?

Cooldown always was 5 seconds so no its not nerfed its a straight up buff. 2% quicker procs and 3k more damage.

I am only repeating what others said
I don't know what the cooldown used to be and what it is now. But they say it was ninja increased.
But well

Now is someone ever going to test Ilambris or will everyone just keep blindly supposing that its s***? Lol

But you are 100% sure, that it is still the same ? Have you tested it ?

A Sorc only does damage with these 2 elements so the proc rate is far from being an issue. Are Force Pulse, Shock Light Attacks, Liquid Lightning, Elemental Blockade, Shooting Star, Endless Fury and Boundless Storm not enough to proc this monster set? Really?
The damage is indeed mediocre, but considering there are 2 procs that can happen the damage is very substantial.
Its exactly what blindly supposing means.

A little less aggressive mkay?
It's gonna be rubbish in pvp, yes, people move.
Even in pve, stuff moves all the time. The aoe is tiny compared to larger aoe's, so yes, it's going to be an issue, unles you pretend things like to stand still while you blow them up from afar.
And I am obviously not talking about sorcs. MagDKs find this useless, no idea about NBs but probably as well. Meaning it would only be (maybe) viable for a sorc. No need for that patronizing tone thank you.
