I dont understand why people care though? I mean its cosmetic, and its still random. Gear that affects the play of a player would be a different story.
Because people are taking an advantage of it and selling it in guild stores for an outrageous price. Why should they get easy cash when they didn't properly earned it like some of us do.
First, it's perfectly legal to hunt mofits at any level. Second, they paid for the game and DLC, so they have the right to do anything the game allows. There is no 'right way' or need to 'earn it'. It's really not their problem OP finds this offensive. Seems a wee bit jealous.
LOLL, I actually found pretty wierd that some people start hunting down those stuff with 8 of their alt in order to sell them at ridiculous price. First because I don't see the fun of that and second because it actually create unfriendly raid environnement for people who are actually not needing the gear from those dungeon but who uses to have incentive to come in as those motif could sell for quite a good price..
There are always players with more gold than sense or so rich that 100k for a new motif is acceptable. But I doubt a lot of players buy at those prices. Personally, I think the players raiding at level 10 are doing me a favor, since a better supply of motifs will also mean more reasonable motif prices. But then, I'm perfectly willing to wait for a month or two, when prices have really come down, before I start buying. That way I have my motifs, and my gold too.

I understand what you mean, but what I don't like about the reasonning is also coming from my perception of the Dro-Mathra gear.
The Dro-Mathra motif is coming from an exclusive line of object known to drop into one of the hardest trial in ESO. The simple fact of wearing them (for someone who had been working on the Vet dungeon for a while now), has a meaning, while gathering the motif... well kind of tune down the exclusive feeling that dro-mathra motif use to have.
I understand that ESO wants to put those motif out there, a lot of player like them and I'm down for that, but having the capacity to gather those as if they were wold-boss drop is kind of a turn down for me as far as what they represent...

I fully agree it never should have been a motif to begin with. Same with the Craglorn trials but... yet... it's datamined as craftable. So while it sucks that my healer being able to walk around in Moondancer gear, I'll look at the silver lining and say "well at least there's more people wanting to raid"
I--and many people I know--have run nMoL a gazillion times, back when there was a weekly loot cooldown on all loot, and back when normal dropped blue items. I've spent countless hours progressing through and beating vMoL.
I've been in MoL so much that if these motif pages were available at the MoL launch, I'd have several complete sets by now.
I lowbie-farm the motifs, and I have absolutely no problem with anyone else lowbie-farming them. And all the people I know who can roflstomp through nMoL in 20 minutes and kill normal max-level CR160 Rakkhat within 3 pads (nobody even needs to do backroom) don't care and/or participate in lowbie-farming. We just want to complete our motif sets. We don't give a damn about "proving ourselves" to get these motif chapters that look like a hideous rendition of a drunken night in Vegas.

I've gotten to explain the twins' mechanic to people who had never set foot in the Maw before, bunches of new people got to do Trials who wouldn't have touched it otherwise--some may become veteran raiders themselves, who knows?--and everybody gets a Motif page. Wins all around.
If you want a prestige symbol there's the dro-M'Athra skin. Motifs have never been exclusive to one part of the fanbase, just easier to get for some parts of it.
