I use execute for resource regen (hence endless fury).

One cool trick is to cast execute before they are in execute range, since if you read the description carefully, it says they explode for xxxxxx damage if they fall below whatever health within a few seconds. Do I execute, weave, and they appear to die at 50% depending on their stats! Try it my man.

But sorc execute is the worst, it's true.

For example, I often just end up using a proved frag that is usually available, rather than switch bars, execute, switch back. Only do this when low on magick or wanna spam damage when in overload (and conserve overload obviously)

When my sorc was magicka, I would use Mage's Wrath to execute dungeon bosses under 20% health. It almost has the same oomf as Radiant Destruction or Impale/Killer Blade, but it costs a bit less and is instant. Combine that with Crystal Fragments procced by Mage's Wrath, and you have some good single target dps.

You can't lose DPS with an execute. Its just not possible. As long as you keep your DoTs and your buffs up your DPS will spike in the execute range. Its an execute its meant for dealing high damage to low health targets. I don't know how you managed to lose DPS. I'm usually at 30k (Bloodspawn test with all raid buffs) with my execute. I don't know what it would be like without because I never go without it. Mages Wrath hits as hard as Overload (meaning stronger than a Shooting Star). So below 20% you do much more DPS if you have an execute. Overall thats 1/5 of a fight so the DPS increase isn't huge, but its definetly higher. Then again everything depends on your rotation and your bar set ups (Double Destro or Destro/Dual Wield)

The only issue I have is the scaling. 20% is a bit low. 25% would make more sense even though its not a huge difference.

And also: Overload is huge burst DPS and is a very good ultimate. Ask @YoloWizard. He's the sorc master of the game.


EDIT: Oh crap I messed up, I chose the wrong option. I didn't pay attention, I do have a place for Mages Wrath on my bar and while I don't think that its amazing, I think its a DPS increase to have an execute. So "other" is my choice from the poll.

l cancel it, and proc it with kena by using two overload attacks. see, overload can be used in a synergistic way. overload around 25%, proc kena, start executing with 500 extra spell power. That is not a dps loss. boundless storm and liquid lightning on top of that? yeah executes are good at executing.

20% is the lowest of all executes, but like i said, you can apply it before 20%. Most people dont do this. what you should do when target is ~30% is go into overload, cast liquid lightning, cast mages wrath ONCE (or other morph...not the point), proc kena with two overloads- this triggers the first explosion from when they were above 20%, and it is procced with kena, as will be your following executes.
