Please Don't Ask Too Much for the Newly Scaled Sets

With the maintainance in progress at the moment, I just have one request for those who are going to the better-scaled trials in Craglorn: DON'T ask too much for set that'll now scale to cp160, like the Warlock, Necropetence, Salvation, Red Mountain, etc., sets. If the piece has a decent trait and good quality (like purple), only ask at most 10k gold. Don't rip people off. Thank you.

I agree. Most of these sets are easily farmable. Look at Necropotence right now, it only costs a few 100 gold on the stores. The V16 version won't cost much more if you are reasonable.

Either way, the price will drop rapidly. During the first few days, it will be something special because everyone wants to get their hands on most of these sets and especially the golden yewelry. But this won't last for long, it's just too easy to farm. 2 golden yewelry for 1 HM run ??? That's too easy.

Give it 1 week max and you will get this gear for free almost.

demand and supply is what drives the prices. If new scaled items sell out quick, then the price will be adjusted a lot higher. Its economics.

If it's not the price you're looking for, either farm it yourself or just don't buy it at the higher prices listed, thus removing any enforcement of the higher prices, causing them to drop and wasting the person's listing fee and 30 days of time taken while it was listed at the price that is more than 10k :D

Hate to say it, but if I get something good on the opening week, I'm going to be charging a premium. Why? Because that's what people are willing to pay for it. When I list an item on a guild store in one of my trade guilds, it's not an act of charity. I'm looking to get whatever the item is currently worth.

If you aren't willing to pay premium prices, then you have two options- either farm for it yourself, or simply wait a few weeks because the prices WILL drop to more reasonable levels as the rarity goes down.

Most of the time it's x amount for new set pieces (like 100k for vicious death) and a week later it's only 1%-10% of what it was. >:)

    ^^ this.

If the market price is 20k then it's 20k. It means (some/enough) people think it's worth 20k to them and pay 20k. If I choose to be nice and list the item at 10k as you suggest, someone will buy it straight away and resell it for 20k.

That's how free markets work. Sellers don't decide the price (unless they have a monopoly). Offer and demand do decide the price. Which means that sellers are left with one decision to make : sell or not sell at current market price, and buyers are left with one decision to make : buy or not buy at current market price. Buyers and sellers have EQUAL power.

The sum of all decisions made by buyers and sellers will in turn influence offer and demand, which in turn will influence current market price.

Besides, OP, you also have the option to farm it yourself. Don't tell me you have no guild/group to do it. nSO has been farmed continuously for two months now, PUG group accepting everyone have been running it days and nights and all chats were continuously covered with LFM nSO farm run. EVERYONE could farm it, including you. It will be the same for nAA an nHRC.

PS : In case your reason is that you have no time to farm them, then sorry, why should people offer you their farming time ?

OP, I sold my first ring for Dregh King slayer at 50k. I had no idea what to list it for or how desirable it was. Amazingly, someone did buy it. After that, I listed my next one and it sat there for the full 30 days because it dropped like a rock in value. That was 4k of my gold wasted for no reason.

I also listed a Lunar Bastion gold helm for 750k (mostly because it looked pretty in my store and I had no idea it wasn't meant to be BoP instead of BoE) and ya know what I got? I basically paid 60k... to get my own free helm back :P

If the ring was gold, then it should still be worth the 50k, I think.

common, sets in ESO are dirt cheap as it is,

imho its so backwards that we are more than happy to pay 20k for a stack of pots that easily could be consumed in a day, while we shrug at the idea of paying more than 10k for a set piece that could last a lifetime.

in ESO the economy is dictated by supply, and not at all by demand as sales are restricted and sellers are forced to push their goods to lowest bid, or chose to trash items not to run out of inventory space.
this makes it so that it is the buyers who are ripping of the sellers and NOT the other way around.

The first golden Necropotence jewellery I get I will sell for a fortune, most probably to @Dracane :kissing_heart:.

In all seriousness, people will pay what they are willing to pay. If people charge too much then they won't sell and prices will drop to ultimate what they are deemed to be "worth" in some wishy-washy manner. Either you can pay the premium for the first few weeks, wait for the price to drop or farm it yourself..

Be certain, that I will definatley NOT buy anything from you, Zergmaster ;)
Even if you are the only person on Tamriel selling it.

Oh but luckily, I decided to change my setup. So I am in no need for Necropotence yewelry anymore. I will probably buy them anyway, just to make sure. But that can wait.

Mmm... should be. It's one of the cp160 updated sets so if you do it in hardmode on vet you should have the chance to get 1 BoE and 1 BoP gold jewelry piece upon completion.

lowering prices can be sort of manipulated if you have tons of gold. Just buy a large amount of the same items and list them one by one all day long for 10% price drop compared to the other sellers. In a few days that item will drop at least half a price if its not rare enough. But that will take a ton of wasted gold.

    PC/EU general prices lately:
Sharpened Elegant swords go for around 150k-600k
Sharpened Viper stamina weapons go for around 100k-500k
Sharpened Elegant staves go for 10k-50k
Sharpened Willpower swords go for 4k-8k
Sharpened Agility stamina weapons go for 4k-8k
Sharpened Endurance stamina weapons go for 2k
Dreugh King Slayer gold rings go for 50k, purple 5k.
Elegant gold ring 40k-80k, purple 8k-12k.
Knightmare gold ring 10k, purple 500g-2k

Lets see how things turn out after update.

OP btw. these items are not overpriced, when people get 100-200 of them before they get one with the right trait. I'd recomend you to farm the dungeons yourself and see what an RNG fest it is.

But 12 people run 1 trial. So the chance that things drop is very very high. If all trial members decide to sell, then we have plenty of offerings on the stores.
During the first week, people will probably try to get things themselves before selling anything.

I was actually about to do the same the past few days - buy all reasonable priced crafting tempers and materials. Spend about a million on those and when the patch comes everyone will want to craft and prices will go up a lot higher for those materials.
But I was too lazy to do so
